To the five seniors
of this year's basketball team, from Ray & Russell Day
Kayla, Katie, Kelsey, Shaketta &
Aelleon
The Day Brothers want the seniors of this Lady WildKat Basketball Team to know that we enjoyed the four years you have us given us, in the game of basketball as our "Kokomo Lady WildKats". It has been a great year and you have given us the fan, a great year of watching our favorite lady team play the game as you have this year and for the three years previously.
As we, the fans, watched , you matured into a great group of representatives of Kokomo High School and the city of Kokomo. After 50 plus years of being a fan of Kokomo Sports, we have been recipients of enjoyment and satisfaction. To be a player of Kokomo High School, is an accomplishment and a honor, as you represent us, the fan, who sits in the stands. The four years that you played and represented the school have been ones of a lot of glory and a few heartaches as you hate to lose a game. But remember that you don't lose the game, you just are second in the scoring. What you have done in these last four years, is to provide a legasy for the younger girls, who want one day, to do the things that you have done. Just think about all the ways that you have shown that you never give up, and how you played the game one game at a time, learning with each game, and getting better at the game of basketball.
Think about in the next
few years, the young ladies who will have completed their season
and gone on to higher goals. That is what you learn from team
play, discipline and hard work. That is what it is all about. As
you walk the walk and talk the talk, you have taken KHS to higher
status. You have provided a goal for those to follow and you have
made us, the fans, proud. As you leave our school and go on with
your lives, don't ever forget how you, the five graduating
seniors, played the game. Use that in life as you meet new goals,
that will send you to higher goals and a better way of life. So
to all of you, the Day Brothers wish you well and we will miss
you on the court, but we will follow you in your walk of life.
May God Bless each of you.
Ray "Uncle Ray" Day & Russell
Day & all the fans
