Hi, All!
Since my last update in January, I have been keeping myself busy and staying out of troubles. (What's new here?) Fortunately, my back from injury healed nicely, but I had a bad cold in the beginning of February, which slowed me down a little.
One thing I have been working on is "Home Improvement." I've slowly but surely unpacked the stuff I brought from my old house to the "new" place with Regina. It was not easy to fit everything that used to be in the 2-bedroom place to a place where Regina has lived. We have painted the kitchen, ketchup red walls and mustard yellow ceiling. (It screams hot dog or burger, doesn't it?) We also painted the bathroom with blue skies with green mountains and white clouds. We are having visitors paint themselves on the mountains. As wild as it may sound, our place is looking better a little by a little.
I was invited to give a talk in San Diego by my friend, Patti. So, Regina and I made a trip there at the end of February. It was a lot of fun. (http://www.slip.net/~iwata/SanDiegoFeb2000.html for details.)
Friends of mine invited me to go to Joshua Tree National Park for a rock-climbing trip at the beginning of April. Another trip is planned for backpacking in high Sierras in July. I am trying to get back to an excellent shape, especially for the Sierra trip. Since the weather has gotten much better in San Francisco, I've been biking and generally being more active, which I am happy about. J
A doctor at UCSF, Gene Morita, kindly invited me to a photography club meeting in Marin County. I hadn't done much photography since 1996, and seeing other people's work motivated me to create my own images. I plan to go into a darkroom to be more creative soon.
Love! Koji
