| In this first episode of Cowboy Bebop, we meet bounty hunters Spike Spiegel and Jet Black. They cruise around on their ship, the bebop, looking for new bounties to claim. The bounty they are hunting is Asimov Solensten, who has 2.5 million woolongs on his head. Asimov is trafficing the highly addictive drug Bloody Eye, which is sprayed into your eyes, with his girlfriend. He goes to a bar to sell his product, and the bartender asks him to demonstrate the Bloody Eye. While drugged up, the cops come in and shoot up the bar. Jet comes into the destroyed bar to find a little information about Asimov. Spike runs into Asimov's girlfriend, who tells Spike about her dreams to move to Mars. Asimov shows up and nearly kills Spike, but stops because of his girlfriend's pleads not to. The two take off and Spike has managed to steal the sample of Bloody Eye. Spike gets in disguise and Asimov tries to sell him some Bloody Eye, but realizes he has lost his product. Spike reveals himself and the missing sample, and Asimov and him break into a fist fight. Asimov escapes and flies off with his girlfriend. His girlfriend looks at her frenzied boyfriend and realized that Bloody Eye has taken over his life. The cops have blocked their exit, so she take a gun and shoot him. Shortly after, the cops blast the ship and she dies as well. Spike and Jet have lost their bounty and are once again still broke. | |||||||||||
