YLEISVAIKUTELMA: Erittäin kaunis koira, jossa kaikki osat ovat sopusoinnussa kokonaisuuden kanssa. Seistessään levollisen omanarvontuntoinen.
OMINAISPIIRTEET: Rakenne ilmentää vahvuutta ja toiminnallisuutta. Ei kömpelö eikä millään lailla karkea. Ilme on erittäin tärkeä. Muita olennaisia piirteitä ovat kallon ja kuonon suhde sekä täydellinen tasapainoisuus, silmien koko, muoto, väri ja sijainti sekä korvien oikea asento ja kantotapa.
KÄYTTÄYTYMINEN/ LUONNE: Ystävällinen, ei vähääkään hermostunut eikä aggressiivinen.
GENERAL APPEARANCE: Appears as dog of great beauty, standing with impassive dignity, with no part out of proportion to whole.
CHARACTERISTICS: Physical structure on lines of strength and activity, free from cloddiness and with no trace of coarseness. Expression most important. In considering relative values it is obtained by perfect balance and combination of skull and foreface, size, shape, colour and placement of eye, correct position and carriage of ears.
BEHAVIOUR/ TEMPERAMENT: Friendly disposition with no trace of nervousness or aggressiveness.

PÄÄ: Mittasuhteet erittäin tärkeät, päätä on arvosteltava suhteessa koiran kokoon. Edestä tai sivulta katsottuna pää muistuttaa hyvin tylppää, puhdaslinjaista kiilaa, jonka ääriviivat ovat pehmeät. Pää kapenee tasaisesti ja pehmeästi korvista kohti mustaa kirsua, poskiluut eivät ole ulkonevat eikä kuono kapea. Sivulta katsottuna kallon ja kuonon ylälinjat ovat yhdensuuntaiset ja samanpituiset ja niitä erottaa niukka, mutta silti silminnähtävä otsapenger. Silmien sisänurkkien välin keskipiste (joka on otsapenkereen oikea sijaintipaikka) on pään keskikohta pituussuunnassa. Pää on hyvin meislautunut.
KALLO-OSA: Tasainen; etäisyys kulmakaarista leuan alaosaan ei koskaan ole liiallinen (eli ei kauttaaltaan syvä).
KIRSU: Väriltään aina musta.
KUONO-OSA: Pehmeästi ja hyvin pyöristyneen kuonon kärki on tylppä, ei koskaan neliömäinen. Alaleuka on voimakas.
LEUAT/ HAMPAAT/ PURENTA: Kookkaat hampaat. Vahvat leuat. Säännöllinen ja täydellinen leikkaava purenta, ts. alaleuan etuhampaat koskettavat tiiviisti yläleuan etuhampaiden takapintaa. Hampaat ovat kohtisuorassa leukaluihin nähden.
SILMÄT: Hyvin tärkeät ja ne antavat koiralle viehättävän ilmeen. Keskikokoiset (eivät koskaan hyvin pienet), hieman vinoasentoiset, mantelinmuotoiset ja tummanruskeat paitsi sinimarmorin värisillä koirilla, joilla silmät ovat usein siniset tai sinitäpläiset (osittain tai kokonaan, toinen tai molemmat). Ilme on erittäin älykäs, koiran kuulostellessa katse on valpas ja tarkkaavainen.
KORVAT: Pienet korvat sijaitsevat päälaella, ne eivät ole liian lähellä eivätkä liian kaukana toisistaan. Levossa korvat ovat taaksepäin taittuneet, mutta koiran ollessa tarkkaavainen ne ovat eteenpäin suuntautuneet ja puolipystyt, ts. noin kaksi kolmasosaa korvasta on pysty, yksi kolmannes luonnostaan eteen- ja alaspäin taipuva.
HEAD: Head properties of great importance, must be considered in proportion to size of the dog. Viewed from front or side, head resembles a well-blunted clean wedge, being smooth in outline. Sides taper gradually and smoothly from the ears to end of black nose, without prominent cheek bones or pinched muzzle. Viewed in profile, the top of skull and the top of muzzle lie in two parallel straight lines of equal length divided by a slight, but perceptible "stop" or break. A mid-point between the inside corners of eyes (which is the centre of a correctly placed "stop") is centre of balance in length of head.
SKULL: Flat. Depth of skull from brow to underpart of the jaw, never excessive (deep through).
NOSE: Always black.
MUZZLE: End of smooth, well-rounded muzzle blunt, never square. Underjaw strong. Clean cut.
MOUTH: Teeth of good size. Jaws strong with a perfect, regular and complete scissor bite, i.e. Upper teeth closely overlapping lower teeth and set square to the jaw.
EYES: Very important feature giving sweet expression. Medium size (never very small), set somewhat obliquely, of almond shape and dark brown colour, except in the case of blue merles when the eyes are frequently (one or both, or part of one or both) blue or blueflecked. Expression full of intelligence, with quick, alert look when listening.
EARS: Small, not too close together on top of skull, nor too far apart. In repose carried thrown back, but on alert brought forward and carried semi-erect, that is, with approximately two-thirds of the ear standing erect, the third tipping forward naturally, below horizontal.

KAULA: Lihaksikas, voimakas, melko pitkä ja kauniisti kaartuva.
RUNKO: Hieman korkeuttaan pitempi.
SELKÄ: Kiinteä.
LANNE: Hieman kaartuva.
RINTAKEHÄ: Kylkiluut kaareutuneet, rinta syvä ja lapojen takaa melko leveä.
HÄNTÄ: Pitkä; häntäluu ulottuu vähintään kintereisiin. Koiran ollessa rauhallinen häntä on alhaalla hännänpää hieman ylöspäin kaartuneena. Innostuneen koiran häntä voi kohota, muttei koskaan selkälinjan yläpuolelle.
NECK: Muscular, powerful, of fair length, well arched.
BODY: Slightly long compared to the height.
BACK: Firm.
LOINS: Slight rise over loins.
CHEST: Ribs well sprung, chest deep, fairly broad behind shoulders.
TAIL: Long with bone reaching at least to hock joint. Carried low when quiet but with slight upward swirl at tip. May be carried gaily when excited, but never over back.

POLVET: Hyvin kulmautuneet.
KINTEREET: Matalat ja voimakkaat.
KÄPÄLÄT: Kuten etukäpälät mutta hieman vähemmän kaarevat.
LIIKKEET: Liikkeet ovat rodun leimaa-antava erityispiirre. Terverakenteisen koiran kyynärpäät eivät koskaan ole ulkokierteiset; liikkeessä eturaajat ovat suhteellisen lähellä toisiaan. Kehräävät ja rullaavat liikkeet sekä ristiinastunta ovat pahoja virheitä. Takaa katsoen kintereet ovat yhdensuuntaiset, mutta eivät liian lähellä toisiaan, sivusta katsoen liikkeet ovat sulavat. Takaraajat ovat voimakkaat ja niiden työntö on hyvä. On toivottavaa, että askeleet ovat kohtuullisen pitkät; niiden tulee olla kevyet ja vaivattomilta näyttävät.
LIMBS
FOREQUARTERS: Forelegs straight and muscular with moderate amount of round bone.
SHOULDERS: Sloping and well-angulated.
ELBOWS: Neither in nor out.
FEET: Oval; soles well padded. Toes arched and close together.
HINDQUARTERS: Hind legs clean and sinewy below.
THIGHS: Muscular.
STIFLES: Well bent.
HOCKS: Well let down and powerful.
FEET: Oval; soles well padded. Toes slightly less arched than in forefeet and close together.
GAIT/ MOVEMENT: Movement is distinctly characteristic of this breed. A sound dog is never out at elbow, yet it moves with its front feet comparatively close together. Plaiting, crossing or rolling are highly undesirable. Hind legs, from hock joint to the ground, when viewed from the rear, to be parallel but not too close;when viewed from the side, action is smooth. Hind legs powerful with plenty of drive. A reasonably long stride is desirable and should be light and appear quite effortless.

KARVAPEITE
KARVA: Erittäin tiheä karvapeite myötäilee rungon ääriviivoja;. Peitinkarva suoraa ja karhean tuntuista, pohjavilla pehmeää, tuuheaa ja hyvin tiivistä peittäen ihon lähes täysin. Kaulus ja röyhelö ovat hyvin runsaat, pään etuosa on sileä, korvien kärjet ovat sileät, mutta tyvet ovat runsaskarvaisemmat. Eturaajat ovat hyvin hapsuiset, takaraajat kintereen yläpuolelta erittäin hapsuiset, mutta kinnernivelten alapuolelta sileät. Häntäkarvat ovat erittäin runsaat.
VÄRI: Kolme hyväksyttyä väriä: soopeli-valkoinen, kolmivärinen (tricolour) ja sinimarmoroitu (blue merle). Soopeli: Mikä tahansa sävy vaalean kullanväristä tumman mahonginruskeaan tai sävyttynyt soopeli mustin karvankärjin. Vaalea oljen- tai kermanväri on paha virhe. Kolmivärinen: Pääväri musta, syvän punaruskeat merkit raajoissa ja päässä. Ruosteenruskea sävy peitinkarvassa on paha virhe. Blue merle: Pääväri puhtaan hopeansininen, joka on marmoroitunut mustalla värillä. Syvät punaruskeat merkit ovat toivottuja, mutta niiden puuttuminen ei ole virhe. Suuret mustat merkit, savenharmaa väri tai ruosteenruskea sävy peitinkarvassa tai pohjavillassa ovat pahoja virheitä. Valkoiset merkit: Kaikkiin yllämainittuihin väreihin liittyvät tyypilliset valkoiset colliemerkit, joiden määrä voi vaihdella. Seuraavat merkit ovat toivottuja: täysi tai osittainen valkea kaulus, valkea rinta, raajat ja käpälät, valkea hännänpää. Kuonossa, kallossa tai molemmissa voi olla valkea piirto.
COAT
HAIR: Fits outline of body, very dense. Outer coat straight and harsh to the touch, undercoat soft, furry and very close almost hiding the skin; mane and frill very abundant, mask and face smooth, ears smooth at tips, but carrying more hair towards base, front legs well feathered, hind legs above hocks profusely feathered, but smooth below hock joint. Hair on the tail very profuse.
COLOUR: Three recognised colours: Sable and White, Tricolour and Blue Merle. Sable: Any shade of light gold to rich mahogany or shaded sable. Light straw or cream colour is highly undesirable. Tricolour: Predominantly black with rich tan markings about legs and head. A rusty tinge in the top coat highly undesirable. Blue Merle: Predominantly clear, silvery blue, splashed and marbled with black. Rich tan markings preferred, but absence should not be penalised. Large black markings, slate colour, or a rusty tinge either on top or undercoat are highly undesirable. White Markings: All the above should carry the typical white Collie markings to a greater or lesser degree. Following markings are favourable: White collar, full or part; white shirt, legs and feet; white tail tip. A blaze may be carried on muzzle or skull or both.

KOKO
SÄKÄKORKEUS: Uroksilla 56-61 cm, nartuilla 51-56 cm.
SIZE
HEIGHT: Dogs 56-61 cm (22-24 inches), bitches 51-56 cm (20-22 inches).

VIRHEET: Kaikki poikkeamat edellämainituista kohdista luetaan virheiksi suhteutettuna virheen vakavuuteen.
FAULTS: Any departure from the foregoing points should be considered a fault and the seriousness with which the fault should be regarded should be in exact proportion to its degree.

HUOM. Uroksilla tulee olla kaksi normaalisti kehittynyttä kivestä täysin laskeutuneina kivespussiin.
NOTE: Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles fully descended into the scrotum.
