Borderterrierin ihailijat sanovat, että borderi on täydellinen koira. Se on vakituisesti seurana sydänystävänä. Se on koira, jolla on terävä äly ja suuri sydän. Tällaiset puheet saavat borderit kuulostamaan täydellisiltä, ja usko pois, niin ne ovatkin.
Border Terrier fans say that Border Terrier is perfect dog. He is always loyal company and bosom friend. He is dog, which have sharp intelligence and big heart. Those words get Border Terriers sound perfect, and believe or not, that's what they really are.

YLEISTÄ: Minkälaiselle henkilölle borderi sopii? Borderi on monipuolinen koira. Se sopii niin kaupunkiin kuin maaseudulle. Se sopeutuu pieneenkin kotiin ja kaupunkiasuntoihin, mutta vain jos omistajalla on aikaa viedä koiraa päivittäin kävelylle ja leikkimään puistoon. Muutaman minuutin tepastelu asfaltoidulla tiellä ei riitä tyydyttämään borderin liikunnantarvetta. GENERAL: What kind of person is good owner for Border Terrier? Border Terrier is versatile dog. He can live as well in the city as in the countryside. He can live also in small house or in city residence, but owner must have time to walk a dog daily and get him play to the dog park. Few minuts walking in the asphalted road isn't enough to satisfy his need for exercise. Border Terrier isn't dog for old and tired people, because his need for exercise and activities is very big when we proportion it to his size. He needs very much exercise and activities to be happy and nice member of the family even though he is little dog.

LUONNE: Varoituksen sanana sanottakoon, että borderterrieri älykkäänä koirana huomaa pian omistajan heikot kohdat ja ottaa pian kodin hallintaansa, mikäli se sille suodaan. Borderterrieri on myös oivallinen lapsiperheen ystävä. Se tulee loistavasti toimeen lasten kanssa, se osaa olla ystävällinen heille ja tietää, milloin heitä pitää suojella. Borderi on myös oiva leikkitoveri lapselle, sillä se jaksaa leikkiä ja peuhata lasten kanssa väsymättä.
CHARACTER: Border Terrier is very intelligent dog -he notices owner's weak points fast and takes house to his own control if you allow that. He is excellent lover of family with children. He goes very well with children, he is kind to them and knows when he have to protect them. He is also excellent playmate for children, because he is capable of playing and romping with children untiringly.

KENELLE SOPII: Borderterrierin omistaja tarvitsee vahvan luonteen, hänen tulee osata asettaa säännöt ja vaatia niiden noudattamista. On suositeltavaa, että koulutat koirasi, sillä se auttaa sekä omistajaa että koiraa ymmärtämään toisiaan sekä koiran luonnetta. WHO IS GOOD OWNER: Border Terriers owner needs firm character, he must set rules and make sure that dog will follow them. It is to be recommended that you train your dog, because it helps both owner and dog to understand each others and dog's character. Border Terrier goes well with family when he knows that he has loving but strong leader who he can trust and give his devotion and faithfulness.

Borderi harvemmin hurmaa siihen ihastuneita ihmisiä ulkonäöllään vaan sydämellään ja olemuksellaan. Tässä koirassa on sitä jotain, joka vetoaa pintaa syvemmälle. Borderterrieri on kuitenkin ehdottomasti koiran näköinen. APPEARANCE: Border Terrier is not very elegant dog on the contrary he looks like very ordinary. He seldom charm people by his appearance but his heart and being. That dog has something which appeals to beneath under the surface. Border Terrier absolutely looks like dog anyway. Many Border Terrier's owners have appreciated that quality when they have told why they have chosen Border Terrier: he looks like dog even though he is small. Border Terrier absolutely is very remarkable dog though he is small-sized.

TURKINHOITO: Borderterrierin ulkonäköön kuuluu trimmattava turkki. Borderterrierin omistajalla tulee olla aikaa turkin hoitoon ja trimmaamiseen. Hyvin hoidetusta borderterrierin turkista ei lähde karvoja samallalailla kuin esim. lyhytkarvaisista koirista. Vaikka borderterrierin turkin hoito vie aikaa, niin sen oppiminen ei ole vaikeaa. Palkitsevinta on, kun itse hoitaa borderterrierinsä turkin, jolloin voi nauttia aina siistin näköisestä koirasta.
GROOMING: Owner must have time to groom and trim Border Terrier's coat. When you have looked after Border Terrier's coat, there will not fall out so much hair as for example from smooth-haired dog. Even though Border Terrier's grooming takes time, it's not so difficult to learn it.

VÄRI: Punainen, vehnänvärinen, harmaankirjava parkinruskein merkein tai sininen parkinruskein merkein.
COLOUR: Red, wheaten, grey with brown markings or blue with brown markings.

PAINO: Uros 6-7 kg, narttu 5,2-6,3 kg.
WEIGHT: Dogs 6-7 kilograms, bitches 5,2-6,3 kg.
