Battle of the Realms By: Queen Catherine Chapter 1 Light beams struck everywhere in the room. A young boy with black disc eyes and wore a red baseball cap, a stripe shirt and blue shorts stood in the center of the room. He cautiously looked around his surroundings. Where am I? Questions ran through his head. What is this? What am I doing here? His questions seemed to be answered at that moment. A girl about the age of fifteen stared at the young boy from a far away distance. Her grayish hazel eyes were saddened and her moon-round face was wet from tears. She had long, thick strawberry-blonde hair was pulled back in a ponytail and also wore a dark blue cloak and a green tunic-like attire underneath the cloak itself. "Who are you?" The young boy questioned. "What's wrong?" The mysterious girl's eye grew even more depressed. She stood in silence as if she was unable to speak. "Where am I?" The boy asked as his voice suddenly echoed through the room. Finally, the girl answered, "I'm so sorry that I brought you into this mess, Ness. I thought you could help me free the others . . . " "Huh?" Ness asked. He was even more puzzled then ever. How did she know his name? What was she talking about? Suddenly, a soft, vrooming sound filled the room. A huge, white glove flew out from the shadows and grabbed the girl. The girl screamed in fright and struggled within its grasp. "NOOO!!" She shrieked. "Let me go! I don't want to go! Ahhhaa!!" The glove paid no attention to the girl's plead. Ness glared at the glove angrily. He couldn't stand an innocent-looking girl being tortured and threatened. He pulled out his Gusty baseball bat and charged straight toward the glove. "Ness, NO!" The girl screamed, but the warning was too late. The glove quickly snapped its fingers and made the girl disappeared into thin air. Ness stopped dead in his tracks and looked around. The girl was no where insight, but her last scream echoed within the entire room, setting a horror to the scene. Ness glared at the glove, but suddenly he heard an evil, haunting laugh. It did not echo in the room, but the voice came telepathically into Ness' head. *You think you can defeat me, boy?* A deep voice taunt telepathically to Ness. *Your friends are at loss. The Earth you live on will surrender their pathetic defeat and you will be my slave forever.* "Oh no you won't!" Ness said with confidence. "If you mess with any of my friends or any innocent people, you'll be dead! I'll make sure of it!" The glove laughed hysterically. *Why don't you try to defeat me, you little runt?* "OK . . . PK FIRE!" Ness quickly shot a flame from his fingertips at the glove, but the glove quickly dodged it and laughed. The young boy was as stunned as ever. How did he do that?! Just as Ness tried to swing his bat, the glove grabbed his entire body and flew up with the boy in its grasps. *Time to die and say farewell to your world.* The glove sneered. It threw itself to the ground as it was carrying Ness. The boy struggled to free himself, but the glove squeezed him harder. It was useless to escape from its grasp. Suddenly as the two hit the ground hard, Ness' vison became pitch black. Ness quickly rose up from his bed with shock and fear from his dream. His bedroom was dark as he scanned the room. He examined himself carefully and reassured himself that the vision was only a bad dream. Suddenly, an eerie whispering sound came from outside. It sounded nothing like the wind blowing or a bird. Ness looked outside from the window to find the cause of the sound. Underneath the moonlight, he saw nothing strange or unordinary outside. The sound was quiet and was not repeated again. Ness shrugged the feeling off. Assuming that he was hearing things, he slowly walked back to his bed and laid there without pulling the covers over himself. Ness slowly closed his eyes and started to think pleasant thoughts to get his mind off the nightmare. However, it did not stop him from wondering of what the dream could mean. Daylight breaks out into Eagleland. After finishing breakfast, Ness leaves his house while carrying his Gusty bat and a baseball. He walked across the front lawn, threw the baseball in the air and brought his bat smashing the baseball. Ness watched the baseball fly and land in a far away distance. Then all of a sudden, a short figure appeared after a teleportation. A young boy appeared, who had thick black hair was pulled back in a ponytail and wore a white karate suit with a black belt. He blinks his black disc eyes at Ness seriously. "Hey Poo," Ness greeted the young boy. "Are you up for playing catch or anything?" "No, but there's something we need to talk about." Poo answered. "It's about this dream I had that may affect you." Ness stared at Poo silently. "I'm guessing that I'm not the one who has been having weird dreams then." Said Ness. "Here was the dream and I believe that it may lead into a prophecy." Said Poo. "I have a bad feeling about this dream though. It began in a room, somewhat like a gymnasium. The lights were on and we as in Jeff, Paul, and I saw you standing in the center of the room. Then I saw this strange girl, who was like about two years older than we were and was-" "Whoa! You're saying that you dreamed of some white glove killing me and stuff?" "Yea, something like that. Paula, Jeff, and I couldn't help you due to something trapping us in a strange purple glass cage. Then you released this strange power and the glove murdered you." "Dude, we had the same dream! Cool!" Poo and Ness were silent. Suddenly, Ness heard a noise that came from the bushes in his front yard. "What was-" Ness started to say. "Hush!" Poo interrupted as he pulled out his sword. "We are being watched . . . " Poo walked over to the nearby bush and pointed his sword to the bush. Finally, he ordered, "Come out coward!" "Maybe it's Pokey trying to scare us." Ness suggested, but was proved wrong. At the speed of lighting, a hand reached out and grabbed Poo's ankle. With a sharp, strong jerk from the arm, Poo was knocked down hard onto the ground. A figure rose from its hiding place and hid its identity by being wrapped in a dark-blue hooded cloak. Poo quickly pulled himself off the ground as the figure removed its hood to reveal its identity. The mysterious attacker was a girl, who was a few inches taller than Ness and Poo and was a little older than them. Her long, strawberry-blonde hair was tied back in a ponytail, her hazel eyes glistened underneath the sunlight but stared at both Ness and Poo. Underneath her dark-blue cloak was a torn green tunic. She raised up a single hand a little and in clear spoken words, she said to Poo, "I do not come here for war or fighting. All I need is Ness and nothing else. If you refuse to let Ness follow me, then you will be destroyed easily." "Why do you need Ness?" Poo asked in an angered tone. "Because he is chosen." The girl simply answered. "He is going to be hand picked by the Master Hand for a challenge to fight against him. If he succeeds, he will not only save his home world, but other fighters who were captured in this realm of yours. Come, I will explain on the way." "Hold up!" Ness said. "Aren't you that girl that appeared in my dream last night?" "I most certainly was. I created the dream for you as I did for three of your friends to understand why we must go." Suddenly, Ness looked around uncomfortably and closed his eyes. Poo watched his friend with concern. "Ness, what is it?" Poo asked. "Trouble . . ." Ness growled. "A The Winters near Jeff's home. Paula is calling for help and Pokey is behind this." He turned to the girl and ordered, "Grab a hold of my shoulders. We'll teleport there." Without an argument or hesitating, the girl placed a firm grasp on Ness's shoulders. Her hands were rough and strong. Poo, Ness, and the mysterious girl teleported over to Jeff's. ____________________________________________________________________________
