| During his first few days on Koholint, Link had the misfortune of meeting Richard, a Human living outside of the Mabe Village. Although outwardly charming, Richard was actually a cold hearted snoop who made ends meat by learning people's deepest, darkest secrets and then blackmailing them for his silence. Under the dellusion that he was actually a prince, Richard saw himself as above the other islanders and therefore, he felt no guilt at treating them like dirt. Richard's top obsession was Valerie, whose secrets he knew. Although she wouldn't do his bidding, Richard chose not to give away her secrets because he was in love with her. No one cares much for Richard. He's annoying and rude and often gets in the way of otherwise private moments. Link and Marin are particularlly careful to avoid letting Richard see them together. Despite the fact that he's lived on the island his entire life, Richard doesn't know Marin's secret. |
