| Link, or Link the second as he is sometimes called, defeated Ganon in Hyrule and decided afterwards to travel the world on a quest of knowledge. As his quest neared an end, a storm blew his way, destroying his only means of returning to Hyrule and shipwrecking him on Koholint Island. He learned from the natives there that the only way he could leave the island would be to wake the Windfish, a powerful creature that controlled his destiny. He set off on a quest to gather the Golden Instruments of the Sirens from the eight Nightmares of the island, knowing that he would only wake the Windfish if he played them before the deity's enormous egg. During his travels, Link fell in love with Marin, an island girl who looked just like Princess Zelda. Link and Marin were torn painfully apart when Link woke the Windfish to discover that Koholint island was nothing more than his own dream and Link spent the rest of his days dreaming of the love he once shared with Marin. |
