What’s New with
the Knights of Columbus?
The Knights monthly newsletter to keep informed on
what’s happening in our council. Also, check us out on the web, www.geocities.com/kofc7794.
Well, we’ve finally reserved a date for our annual
bowling tournament. It will be held on
Sunday, March 17 at Lewis Lanes, in Lowville.
Registration will be from 11:30 – 1:00 and teams will be decided upon at
that time in order to compete for the trophy.
If you’re not that good of a bowler or you just want to have a little
bit of fun, come anyhow and bring your family because it’s family day also.
Hope to see you there.

Sunday, March 3, there will be a chicken B-B-Q held
at St. Mary’s church in Constableville.
We figured since everybody is getting cabin fever and not too many
grills are being turned on this time of year, we’d do some
B-B-Q’ing for you.
Last month the Knights of Columbus held their
annual free throw shoot and we would like to thank everyone who participated in
the event and congratulate the following winners:

throw shooters out there because won 3 of the 10 spots. Here are the winners from the District shoot

The K of C would like to thank those of you who
sent in donations and thank you’s for the Christmas dinners that were
distributed at Christmas time. It was
our pleasure to help out some of the unfortunate families who are down on their
luck, in our area.
For all who are interested, on Sunday, February 24
at 7:00 pm, there will be a 1st & 2nd degree held at
the Carthage K of C hall.
There will be a 4th degree meeting held,
with elections, at the Knights of Columbus hall in Crogan, on Friday February
15 at 8:00 pm. Prior to the meeting at
7:00 pm, the Rosary will be said at St. James’s church.
Also, there will be a Tri – District meeting in
Carthage at 8:00 pm at the K of C hall.
Membership everybody. I know you’re probably tired of hearing about it but like we’ve
said before, “without members, who’s going to help out with the church?” Within the last two month’s, we’ve had one
new member take the 1st & 2nd degrees and one other
has been recently approved. The newest
member of our council is Willard Thayer.
Congratulations! Just to let everybody
know, Supreme Council now enters the recruiter of Willard into a bi-monthly
drawing and to top it off, they will be entered into a drawing for one of 5
trips to Universal Studios, Orlando.
Good Luck!
There have been different ideas floating around on
ways the Knights of Columbus could raise money, and we need your support. So far, we have come up with a few ideas of
our own: 1) A 21 and older dance with a
$5.00 cover charge. 2) A monthly all
you can eat breakfast and / or dinner with a $5.00 cover charge. 3) A bingo night and / or casino night. 4) Instead of a chicken B-B-Q, we would have
a pig roast. These are just a few ideas
that are out there but we need your help to make any of these or another type
of fundraiser to come true. If you like
these ideas, have ideas of your own or would like to help set up the fund
raisers, please visit our website www.geocities.com/kofc7794
and give us your comments or write to:

Remember, with out your help, none of these will
come true without your help.
