A Call to Action

Dear Brother Knights:

The future of marriage in New York will soon be decided, and you're in a position to make a difference. On May 12, the New York State Assembly passed a same-sex marriage bill and sent it on to the Senate. The senate majority leader says he will bring the bill to the floor when he knows he has the votes to pass it. You can help ensure that the votes aren't there.

Please call or email your state senator and urge him to vote NO on same-sex marriages. (Our state senator in Glendale is Joseph P. Addabo, who can be reached at (518) 455-2322, or by email at [email protected].)

At our Supreme Convention last August, delegates adopted a resolution promising that "we will never waver in our efforts to promote the Church's understanding of marriage as the faithful, exclusive and life-long union of one man and one woman joined in an intimate partnership of life and love."

Please help the Knights of Columbus deliver on that promise. New York's Senate will listen if we speak loudly and clearly. But time is short, and I ask that you contact your senator as soon as possible.

Fraternally,
Edward Castellazzi
New York State Deputy
