Honduras Interfaith Ministries or HIM is one of thirteen ministries provided by the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul-Altoona-Johnstown Diocese. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is an international Catholic organization of laypersons, founded in l833 by Frederic Ozanam. The first Vincentians were young, French University students who felt the need to declare and love God by serving Him in the persons of the poor. The Society modeled its service to the poor from the patronage of St. Vincent de Paul. It seeks, in a spirit of justice and charity and by person-to-person involvement of its members, to help those who are suffering. Frederic Ozanam is now a candidate for sainthood in the Catholic Church.

The Knights of Columbus are helping the poor in Honduras through this Caring Center where they distribute food, clothing and medical supplies to people who live in the same type of poverty, as they did 500 years ago when Columbus discovered the Americas.
