WHAT IS CATHOLIC SOCIAL SERVICES?

Catholic Social Services (CSS) is a nonprofit counseling Agency established in 1988 through the funds generated by the Bishops Annual Appeal. The agency operates an office in Williamsport and a satellite office in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania.


WHAT IS THE AGENCY'S MISSION?

The Agency's mission is "to meet the unmet needs for counseling and related services of people" residing in the western region of the diocese. Our services are targeted for people who cannot afford expensive private counseling and those not eligible for state assistance.



WHAT ARE THE AGENCY'S CORE SERVICES?

COUNSELING
Staffed by master level professionals, the agency offers counseling services in the following categories:


COURT SERVICES
We continue to look to the developement of court-connected services. These programs demonstrate our commitment to promote the respect and dignity of the individual regardless of their circumstances. The agency currently offers the following:

ADOPTION/PREGNANCY
The agency offers a range of pregnancy counseling and adoption services including:


WHAT OTHER SERVICES ARE OFFERED?

The agency serves as a "gatekeeper" for other social service programs in the community providing liaison and referral services. CSS also administers the Deanery Program, designed to network resources contained in established youth programs. These services are a cooperative venture with area parishes targeting faith development and volunteerism.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR SERVICES?

The Agency offers quality services to all individuals regardless of religion, race,creed, national origin, sex, marital status, or age.

HOW LONG IS THE WAIT FOR SERVICES AND WHO DO I CALL?

Catholic Social Services traditionally operates without a waiting list. A simple call to the office is all that is needed.
