Our Council has a long and enduring history of serving the Catholic community. The Williamsport Council was first chartered in September of 1898. Sixteen years after Father Micheal J. McGivney founded the Order in New Haven, Conneticut. We have not yet named our council after someone yet, but that is being considered. CHANGE IS IN THE WIND.
Research is presently being done on the history of Council 366. Our Committee has not completed a final draft. Anyone who has any information that may assist us in that endeavor is asked to contact us by mail on notify the Webmaster on our homepage. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
We presently have 344 members and of those, 72 have taken their 4th degree. Our newest member is Micheal A. Meelan from The Church of St. Ann. Welcome Mike.
We are also Blessed to have three hard working Preists active within our ranks. They are Father Micheal S. McCormick serving as our District Chaplain. Father John Manno serving as Our Faithful Friar, and last but not least, Father Jack Kita as Our Council Chaplain. One of the bedrock principles of the Knights of Columbus is to be in defense of the Preisthood. We embrace this principle and thank them for their efforts and direction. With them, We look forward to the challenges of the future.
The Knights of Columbus is a Christian social organization, dedicated to the protection of Catholic Families since 1882. It promotes COLUMBIANISM, the spreading of the ideals of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism by fostering wholesome associations of Christian fellowship. The Williamsport Council 366 has proudly been a part of that heritage.
