Semi

The
Semi Annual Audit is due by February 15, 2003. I ask that our Worthy Treasurer
and Financial
Secretary
close their books as of December 31, 2002 and be prepared to present to the
Trustees
all
financial and fraternal records necessary to complete the audit during the month
of January. All
officers
involved in this process are expected to meet offline and should make their own
arrangements.
Fraternal
Survey
The
Fraternal Survey, which was included in the December issue, is due by January
31, 2003. I ask
that
all members take the time to complete the survey as soon as possible, and to
either bring to the
January
business meeting or mail to the Grand Knight.
Comments
I
pray that we all carry the Sprit of Christmas into the New Year each and every
day of our lives, as Christ
meant
us to be as his disciples. I would like to personally thank all Brother Knights
and their Families
for
their help with our December activities including the Bazaar, Children’s
Christmas Party and The
Shelter
Dinner. As we move into another year, I would like to reach out to inactive
Brother Knights to
bring
them back into our Council, either by attending meetings or helping with events.
If you have
any
ideas to reach out, please contact the Grand Knight or Deputy Grand Knight.

Annual
Spaghetti Dinner
by
Mark Bowditch
O
ur council is again
hosting its Annual Spaghetti
dinner, which will be held Jan
11th
at the parish center from 6:30 to 8:00. This year we have decided to serve the
dinner
Family style in hopes of eliminating the long lines and providing a better meal.
In
order
for this to work, we will need a good turn out of volunteers, especially
servers.
Like
all our functions, participation is the key to its success so please consider
joining your
brother
knights and helping out for an hour or two. To sign up, please call me at
226-8726.
Whether
you can or cannot help, bring along the family for a great meal. Ticket prices
are
only
$5.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids 12 and under with a $20.00 per family cap.
Tickets
will be on sale after the Masses and at the rectory during normal business
hours.
This
is also a great opportunity to invite that friend or family member who you think
would
make
a great knight so they can see for themselves what a great group of guys we
have.
Hope to see you on the 11th.

Annual
Shelter Dinner
by
Paul Grenier
T
his year we delivered a
Christmas feast of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, squash, vegetables, rolls,
cookies and cake to feed approximately 25 people. In addition, we delivered over
120 gifts for
the
residents of the Samaritan House in Taunton. I would like to thank those who
participated in this worthy event for our community. Tom Castello chaired the
cooking with Bob Kellner, Peter Pino, Bill
Sylvia,
Bob St. Martin, Tony Medeiros and Paul Grenier. Ed Groden co chaired with Paul
Grenier for the setup of the Christmas tree, the ornaments and delivery of the
gifts. I would also like to thank Peg &
Amanda
Levesque for helping sort the many gifts. Another thanks to Norm Corriveau, Jean
Paul Sirois and Jack Camara for help in transporting the food and gifts.
Marian
Hour of Prayer by
Paul Grenier
M
y wife and I were very
proud to host the Knights of Columbus Marian Hour
of Prayer. I would like to thank our District Deputy, Tony Medeiros for
allowing our council to receive the Icon during the season of Advent. The Icon
was indeed very beautiful and I was proud of our council to participate in this
special event to pay homage to “Our Lady of the Rosary”. I
would like to thank all those who came to the Hour of Prayer on such a miserable
winters night.

Children’s
Christmas Party by
Paul Grenier
T
he children started
with arts & crafts designing their own picture frames with Marie and the
Elf. Santa arrived with gifts for the children, and photos were taken with
Santa. The children sang Happy
Birthday
to Baby Jesus, before they cut into the cake and ice cream. Prior to leaving,
Marie and the Elf helped the children decorate gingerbread cookies to take home.
Despite the poor attendance, all the
children
were very creative, and all had a great time. I would like to thank all those
involved in the planning, set-up, and cleanup of this year’s children’s
Christmas party.
Pro-Life
Mass
By
Norm Corriveau
T
his Mass, which was
originally planned for Wed., Jan. 22nd,
has now been rescheduled to the 11 AM Mass on Sunday, January 26th. It is
highly recommended that our Worthy Knights and their families attend this
special Mass to honor the precious gift of life God sends our way, on the
occasion of the 30th Anniversary
of the Roe vs. Wade court decision. Taken
from Resource section of Priests for Life..…
A
Pro-Life Poem
Mommy
keep me safe, Mommy keep me warm, Handle me with all your love,
Mommy
keep me from harm. I’m only six weeks old today, This birthday gift to me,
A
pair of bright blue eyes, That someday you will see. I’ve barely got ears, A
little puppy nose,
and
at the end of my feet, Little things called toes. Looking forward to my life,
toys, teddy bears, snails,
and
long fairy tales. Where are we going mommy, in
a bath, on a bus ride or, perhaps far away.
Where
are we going being pushed at all force. How funny it feels passing through
doors, people dressed in green, if they hurt you mommy just scream. What’s
happening mommy, I’m starting to cry,
Mommy
come quickly, they’re making me die, Killing me quickly, Pulling me apart,
everything
inside of me even my heart, Bye mommy, good-bye But how I wanted to see the
grass, the trees, hear a sweet song, feel a sweet breeze. Bye mommy good-bye I
love You I really do I just wish you could love me too.
Let us all pray in this 30th anniversary year of Roe vs. Wade
to end all abortion and to have all see this horrible outrage from the eyes of
the child.
