| Kody was born on Feb 2 2002 in room 202. We had such high hopes for this child born on this very special day. She weighed 8lbs 2ozs and was 20 inches long, a perfect baby girl. Her mother Katie and father Chad wanted a baby girl so bad as they had their little boy already, Cole who will be 3 on August 17th. Everything went very well. Kody was growing and seemed very healthy. A couple of days before she passed she did get a little stuffy nose but nothing any of us felt concerned about. On the night of March 17th Kody nursed around 11 and they all went to sleep. At 7:30 am Katie woke up and thought Kody must have slept through the night as Cole started sleeping through the night at 3 weeks. She checked on her right away and found her not breathing. Chad called 911 but she had passed around midnight the Medical Examiner said after the autopsy. They say she died of SIDS. They said they did everything to check her out but they found nothing wrong with her. She was perfect. We buried her next to Great Grandpa Paul. Paul was the most kid friendly grandpa in the world. He pushed Kody's mother around in a laundry basket until she was much too big. His life revolved around his 3 granddaughters. Katie felt better knowing that she was resting next to her dearly loved grandfather. When her grandmother passes they will take Kody out and place her Grandmother in and Kody will rest on top of her. The hardest thing for us is SIDS leaves you with no answers. We simply do not know what happened to this child that was so loved by all of us. My daughter and I find comfort at the cemetery, we go 3 to 4 times a week. We will love you Kody forever and never forget your beautiful face. |
