I love the "Broken Glass" pic.One day I'm gonna sit down and draw the whole thing (but it will take a whole day because I'll use 11x17 and be totally anal about the details). BTW, this was the first thing I'd drawn in over a year and the second in over two years.

Duo's mouth isn't always that easy either. And his cheeks... Please. When I finally draw them right I'm gonna apply for Keeper of Duo's Cheeks.

Yes, the mouth is better here. But then Trowa's bang appeared out of nowhere. I guess that makes this HeewaYuton (now there's a scary concept).

H: I can't believe you're posting this. Omae o korosu.

Yeah, that's four hours. This one reminded my why I stopped doing color. (I used to photocopy pics out of B&W comics, blow them up to 11x17 and color them with pencils. My average then was 15-20 hours per pic, so maybe this wasn't so bad.)

Still haven't got the mouth. If you've seen the original it has this little, sexy hint of a smile. Maybe I should go for Keeper of Heero's Mouth when I get it right.

I had been struggling with Duo's face for several days. (You don't think I post everything do you?) I decided to just slam it out and leave it. This is based on the pic of Duo in the dark blue jeans and black shirt that appears in one of the art books.(Yes, I thought they were pajamas at first too, but look at the seam on the legs and look at how the fabric bunches at the knee. Denim, I tell you.)

D: I was born with all the pajamas I need.
H: Hai! <The Smirk(tm), grabs Duo's butt>
D: <grabs Heero's butt>
LW: If you two are gonna start that, just... go get a room.

At first I didn't like it. Heero's face is really too narrow based on the original (a frame grab I made). Then I looked at it (the next day) and decided this is probably what he'd look like in the 18-21 range, which fit with one of my fics. So I like it after all. (Did I mention I have over 170 frame grabs of Heero so far?)

The face Mobile Dolls would fear if they had any sense (another frame grab). The cheeky monkey is still throwing me with  those cheeks. Duo (and Heero), 09-10 May 2000
The results of a couple of rather boring meetings at work. The suit appeared out of nowhere. I think Heero likes it. I know I do. Yeah, OK, it isn't perfect, but I can't lay out model sheets in a meeting. People start to think I'm not paying attention. (The original is only about 2"x3". Even with a 0.5 mm lead, that's a pain.)

H: <dreamy look> It's the shoulder pads in the coat that do it.
LW: I think you're right. He is adorable dressed like that. Looks like he's off on a job interview.
H: <looks at LW>

Duo, 14 May 2000, ~30 min
This was another one of those "just do it" pics. Usually I use 4 pencils for drawings (4H, HB, 3B and 6B for the artist types who might be interested), but for this pic I restricted myself to one (an HB). That's the main reason why the tones aren't as rich as some of the other pics. Is it my imagination, or do I generally do a better job on Duo's cheeks when I hurry?

H: <looking over LW's shoulder> Oh, those cheeks.
LW: Why would you want to look at my drawings when you can look at the original?
H: Good point. <calls> Oh, Duuuuuoooooo...
D: Nani? <walks in naked>
H: <studies Duo>
LW: AAGH! You're still trying to get me to draw that damn shirt from Soldiers and Fools, aren't you?

H: I think you got the hair a little too big in the back.

Another quick Duo drawing. I've begun some concept sketches for a semi-original piece and wanted to spend some time working on a more "figure" drawing of Duo. The EW beach poster seemed like a good topic.
