"Wordless"

The words,
They hide in deep recesses of my mind
Bound by the language that gives them life
And refuse my beck and call.

They cower,
Confused by the simply monolithic proportions
Of the depth of bereavement that plagues my emotions
And into despair they fall.

The words,
While once extensions of my soul
Precise and crisp, in perfect control
Have spiraled into chaos.

And I sit,
And watch as the words long ago my companions,
Abandon me here in the deepest of canyons.
Wordless. Speechless. The darkest of all.
