You all know the day would come when I would make a page about Ring Modulators!

I have had a love of Ring Modulators for a long time, since I first read about them. I read about them with reference to Karl Stockhausen, and his composition "Mikrophonie". I was totally taken by the idea that a circuit which is basically 4 diodes and two potentiometers could creats such dramatic changes in timbre (even to be used as a rudimenty Octave Up generator).

There are many diagrams around for Ring Modulators, and I will include one I found recently below. It uses Transistors as "Ideal Diodes". An idea I used myself a year ago when I bread-boarded up a Ring Modulator on a rainy winter day. However, my version was a little different. I haven't been able to find the diagram I worked from then, so, this will have to do for now.

I will update this page in a week or so, after my birthday (15th Nov).
