It shrieks for my attention.
I reluctantly raise my head.
If I go,
I will labor
And toil
While it mocks me�
Pretends to go away
Like it promised.
But it lied.
It always comes back.
I�m denied any peace
Except the brief pause
While it breathes
That low, rattling growl.
It won�t let me forget
So it�s not really peace.
A few minutes later
It screams again
And I�m forced
To go do
