ATCA - Chinese Herbal Medicine

ATCA is prepared from Chinese herbal medicine, 100% natural. Laboratory and clinical studies revealed its high efficacy as a new treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate cancer.

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia:
In our laboratory rat model of BPH, ATCA-treated rats exhibited a reduction of prostate weight of 55%, compared with the untreated rats. Notable prostate involution was also achieved clinically, resulting in improved urinary symptoms in more than 9 out of 10 of our BPH patients.

Prostate Cancer:
In the Dunning rat model of prostatic carcinoma carrying MAT-LyLu cancer line, a highly metastatic, androgen-independent prostate tumor that specifically metastasizes to lungs and lymph nodes, ATCA-treated rats exhibited a prostate tumor weight reduction of 35% and metastasis inhibition of 77%, compared with the untreated rats. Clinically, ATCA showed a tumor size inhibition rate of  75%, a marked improvement in laboratory parameters, and a significant palliation of tumor related symptoms.

Safety and Tolerability:
ATCA has an excellent safety and tolerability due to its herbal character. In laboratory studies, no significant difference was observed between the control and the experimental rats with a long term oral administration of ATCA at a dosage 75 times the clinical dosage. Clinically, ATCA is well tolerated and has not been shown to interact with other drugs. Side effects are mild and transient. Rare side effects include abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, nausea, and fatigue.
