Hill Climb Time Trial
30 September 2007
Its amazing how many excuses can be given when there is a hill time trial to be done.  Andrew, Amanda, Jim and Dave all had legitimate reasons will all four being out of town on holiday or business trips. Baldy has left for the Masters Games in South Australia with Trevor and Marion joining him this week some time. As for Marion she has been training hard and had done 100km yesterday with Trevor, so it was understandable that she sat this one out.  George gave a work excuse as well; we hope to see him back with us soon.

Today we were joined by Tracy and Sandra again.  Sandra had a bit of a hard time getting up the hill but she did finish it and with a smile on her face too. Not being very experienced at riding hills it was a great first attempt and not a bad effort considering she is riding with platform pedals. Tracy impressed everyone with her time after being off the bike for some 7 weeks. Well done.  Trevor was a bit hammered from yesterdays 100km and the strong headwind coming into town but he is riding even stronger then ever, just in time for the trip to the Masters Games.

After not riding hills for a while Russell too had a hard time but rode within his current capabilities and after the ride was heard saying the he could take off at least 22 seconds of his time, we will hold him to that! Russel is on his way to working out how to train to get the best results for him self.  He has only been riding for about 6 months and has lots of enthusiasm, it will take a little while but we are sure he will get there. Keep at it Russel.  Also worthy of note is that he actually rode the whole event with his chain on this time.

Jess has stepped up to the plate and moved into second place today with a stomping ride up the knob.  We were well impressed with his performance. Well done.

Thanks to Jodie for her organising once again.  We would not be having these rides without her so if everyone could donate 30% of their gross wages every week to the Jodie fund it would help to keep her organising and allow Steven  to leave work to ride full time... its not much; just 30%... he would really appreciate it.  He also asked if someone would be able to donate a small piece of equipment... just a pair of new legs or even a 2nd hand pair with low mileage as his fell off on the ride home and he has not been able to find them.

Thanks once again for everyone who came along today and remember everyone is catered for by our club no matter how fit or unfit, or how fast or slow you might think you are.
