Little is known about Sokar's past. He has posed as the god of death
on many different worlds. On our own, this took the form of Satan. Sokar
is one of the most powerful of the Goa'uld, banished by the System Lords,
and is at war with many other Goa'uld. Before his demise, Sokar's plans
were to attack some of the System Lords, in order to tip the balance of
power in the galaxy in his favor. One of Sokar's most noteworthy enemies
is the Goa'uld Apophis. When an injured Apophis fled to sanctuary on Earth,
Sokar followed his prey and nearly destroyed the iris guarding the Earth
Stargate. Sokar threatened to destroy Earth if the humans would not return
Apophis to him. After Apophis' death, they did so. Sokar is believed to
be dead after a Tok'ra weapon exploded Sokar's prison moon of Netu, taking
out Sokar's mothership, which was in orbit.
MYTH'S OF SOKAR:
Other Names: Socharis, Sokhar, Seker, Sokaris, and Satan.
Sokar is the Egyptian god of the Memphis necropolis and a funerary god.
He is associated with the earth and fertility. He is also one of the oldest
deities and was an underworld god with three human heads, the body of
a serpent and wings between which appeared his hawk form. As god of the
necropolis, Sokar is also the patron of the craftsmen who are put to work
there. He also played a prominent role at Thebes where he was depicted
on the royal tombs. He was seen as a manifestation of the resurrected
Osiris, and in later dynasties he was combined with Ptah and Osiris into
one deity, Ptah-Seker-Osiris. He is most often found depicted on royal
tomb walls.Though he was a death god, Seker was also the patron of the
living, mainly the workers who built the necropolis and the craftsmen
who made tomb artifacts. He was also the patron of those who made ritual
objects and substances used in mummification. His dedicated festival was
the Henu Festival, and was held every year in Thebes. The festival celebrated
Osiris' resurrection as Seker. It involved a huge procession with the
image of Seker being carried in a gilded boat. For more about Sokar, Click

An ancient and powerful Goa'uld, who has only recently risen to dominance
among the System Lords
MYTH'S OF ANUBIS:
Nephthys gave birth to a son called Anpu, or Anubis, and that his father
was ether Set or Ra. Anubis is the jackal god, and he was associated with
the dead because the jackal was generally seen prowling about the tombs.
His worship is very ancient, and there is no doubt that even the earliest
time his cult was general in Egypt; it is probable that it is older than
that of Osiris. The localities in which Anubis was especially worshipped
are Abt, the Papyrus Swamps, Sep, Re-au, Heru-ti, Ta-hetchet, Saint, {Lycopolis},
Sekhem, {Letopolis}, etc. In the Theban Recesion of the Book of the Dead
he played some very important parts, the most important being the judgment
and the embalmed the body of Osiris.. In the vignette of the Funeral Procession
the mummy is received by Anubis, who stands by the Book of the Dead the
god is seen standing by the side of the mummy as it lies on its bier,
and he lays his protecting hands upon it. In the speech, which is put
into the mouth of Anubis, he says, "I have come to protect Osiris."
