Learning Outcome:

• identify the sources of energy in a variety of devices found in the school and home
• describe ways energy is used in the school and home
• evaluate ways energy can be conserved in the school and home

Objectives: The student will be able to:

• use the internet to identify sources of energy from a variety of devices
• identify ways to conserve energy 
• work cooperatively in groups to get the information
• present their information

Introduction:

You are a group of scientists that are identifying sources of energy from everyday devices.  You want to discover ways to decrease energy waste.  You must present your information to the other groups.

Procedure:

• You will be assigned into groups and must work cooperatively and use the sites listed below for information on energy used in a variety of devices.  Take notes on the information.
• Make sure to watch for information that gives you tips on energy saving.  Take notes.
• Present your information to the other groups of Scientists

Focus Questions for your Research:

• What are some everyday devices you or someone you know use?
• How much energy is used in some of these devices?
• What are some things you can do to save energy?
