Objectives: The student will be able to:

• use the internet and other research materials to identify aspects of one dog breed
• work cooperatively in groups to get information off the internet
• draw the dog and describe different aspects of it

Introduction:

You are a dog researcher and are assigned to draw and describe one dog breed.

Procedure

• You are assigned in groups to get information about each of your dog breeds off the internet.  Each person in the group must choose a different dog breed.
• Choose a breed quickly, as you only have a few minutes to do so.  After you make your choice take notes off the information you find off the internet.
• After you are finished let your teacher know and they will give you a sheet of paper for you to first write the information on the lower part of the page and then draw the dog on the upper part of the page. 

What you need on your article and drawing

• Name of the breed (e.g. German Sheperd)
• Description of the dogs general personality
• length of hair
• The size of the dog
• Colour of Dog
• Grade 4's, make sure to read up on historical aspects of the dog and comment on the dog

• Examples for you to find; Why does the dog have such long hair?  Why is the dog so large/small/middle size?  What is the climate like where the dog originally came from?  What does this climate suggest about its physical appearance?  

• Where the dog comes from originally
• Draw the dog from a website you are researching
