Stories in Groups

Objective:

How to use in small groups or buddy reading

Summary:

1. The students could compose an illustration or an analysis using software.

2. Small groups could use computers to write notes as they discuss a story

3. Having one student create the story while the other writes and illustrates on the computer could expand buddy reading.

4. Buddy Reading -Have students read to one another; have a parent read to a child; partner with other classes;

5. Students can use a computer as a tool to add sound effects or visuals to a story during shared reading

6. Lip Syncing to a cd individually or small groups; develops public speaking and presentation skills

Comments:

Each one of the ideas above needs to be developed into a microteaching lesson. The P.L.O.'s need to be examined so that the original concept of Story-time is still one of the focal points. After you've created a microteaching lesson, go back and check to see if any other points in this title or the other titles have been included. There might be cross-over. Note this connection to other areas. Thanks.
