Procedure:
Have discussion about Christmas. What does Christmas mean to
you? What do people do during Christmas time? What are important
aspects of a Christmas television show or movie?
Prior to playing the song Blue Christmas, choose four children
to act out each verse of the song
play the song and have the children sing along (you may have to teach
the song prior to playing it)
Ask about the verse from Blue Christmas that has only sound
words. How did the student move to the song when there were only sound
words?
Split the students into groups of four and each group must act to a
different Christmas song
Explain to the children the activity before splitting them up and
emphasize the importance of listening and watching the other group
performances
Ask if there are any questions
Each group performs to a song played on the stereo while the others
watch
Materials:
Overhead
Guitar
Christmas CD and CD Player
Blue Christmas lyrics and guitar chords
Closure: Have a possible discussion with students about music and
movement.

from other classes
