Procedure
You will be placed into groups of four people
Each member of your group will numbered 1-4. You can look at the sites listed above and other resources in your classroom for information on First Nations people of British Columbia.
You will each need information to answer the questions below (Please read). Person one answers question one, person two answers question two... and so on.
You will rate each website and vote which is your favorite.
The information you each collect must be written in point form and referenced (I will discuss more about this in class).
You will then take your notes and summarize your findings relevant to the question you are each answering.
Your information will be presented next class.
Questions
For each question, you are welcome to use historical or contemporary information. You are also welcome to draw some of the information that find from the internet or any other resources. Make sure to reference your information. For questions one to three, write down your findings first in note form and then summarize it in sentence form later. For question four use examples of timeline formats from your resources, however, do not copy. You are also welcome to come with your own creative idea of a timeline. HAVE FUN!!!

Closure
Now that you know how to collect information from the internet and other resources, you can do this for any research topic. You learned that it is important to acknowledge the people or organizations that wrote or collected the information in the resource. You learned to do point form first before venturing into writing a summary. After collecting all your notes you learned that the information you collected can be put into your own words. The person that made a timeline learned that it is important to collect the information from your group members and design a timeline that is clear to everyone. Most of all, this assignment emphasizes the importance of cooperative learning and how much more you can accomplish by working in groups. I am looking forward to hearing your presentations next class.
