Le Gout Du Bonheur was created in the fall of 1970. This was the sole offering of the suite of previously unreleased works by the Modern Master, Pablo Picasso. The suites were limited to only 1,998 for the ENTIRE WORLD! The portfolios were divided into three parallel but separate collections. Each separate collection was numbered 1 to 666. The collection was divided equally between: Cercle d'Art, Paris, France Carl Schunemann Verlag, Bremen, Germany, Harry Abrams Inc, New York, USA. Special portfolios, numbered 1 to 35 in each collection included an original etching by Picasso. Of this etching 25 proofs were pulled, with 20 reserved for Picasso and his friends.
The images in the suite were printed in the studios of Guenther Dietz, Munich. They are the exact size of the original drawings and were produced through a unique process that employed the same materials used by Picasso, instead of printing inks. Grease crayon, lithographic tusche, lead pencil, and charcoal are among the artist's materials used in the creation of this amazing collection. The images were printed on handmade pure rag Velin d'Arches paper.
I am fortunate to own the entire Le Gout Du Bonheur Suite. I have posted 20 images. More will follow.
A word about fraudulent art sales on line. A Sucker is born every minute. -P.T.Barnum I'm sure you have seen "SIGNED" Picasso's online for $200.00 to $300.00. Well if you believe those to be authentic then you are a sucker. On E-Bay you'll note that some sellers of fraudulent art frequently hold "Private auctions". This can prevent the warning of the unwary buyer via e-mail. Some sellers even have have "private" E-bay feedback. I personally have gone to E-Bay investigators about the problem, however, they refuse to take any sort of responsibility. A large percentage of the SIGNED Dali, Chagall, Miro, Mattise and Picasso art available from online auctions is fraudulent. BEWARE OF PRIVATE E-BAY AUCTIONS. Also beware or Certificates of Authenticity from the National Art Guild. Also beware of signed "VERVE" and "Derriere Le Miroir" images sold on E-bay. Picasso, Chagall and Miro generally did not sign the pages of these magazines. Many of the signed VERVE images on E-bay probably have fake signatures.
