Chris StandridgeCoach Chris began fencing August, 1996 at the University of Tennessee fencing club, under the guidance of Dale Drinnon. Chris has participated in tournaments all over the nation, including the Junior Olympics at Oakland, CA, the Sectionals at Chattanooga, Birmingham, Atlanta, and dozens of local tournaments. On top of learning and teaching fencing, Chris also teaches at a local school in Knoxville, and has a minor in Education and a degree in History. Contact: [email protected] (865)984-1396 Alicia Standridge Women's Captain Alicia has been fencing for over four years, and has a great deal of experience working with novices with our club. Alicia began fencing at UT, and even with a very busy schedule in the Pride of the Southland Marching Band, her heart has stayed with fencing. Alicia's competitive career has only recently begun, and she has already began her career with a roar, finishing 6th at State two years ago, and 10th last year! Alicia was Captain of the Colorguard this year at UT, and will graduate this year with a degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee. Contact:[email protected] Ian Orr Men's Captain Ian Orr was among the first fencers to start at the Blades of Knoxville. He has quickly ascended to the top level of fencing in the Knoxville area, including second place at Bellguard Bash at UT, First place in the Blades' own April event, and First Place Team Event at UT. A Nationally rated fencer, Ian represented Tennessee at the 2003 Junior Olympics in Colorado Springs, CO. |
