Hello, everyone! I know it has been a very long time since I was able to update the website and let everyone know what we were up to. Alicia and I are living in a town called Collinsville, Il, which is just across the river from St. Louis. We spent the last year in Springfield, Il, where we couldn't get a club going, but I did manage to fence a little with a club in Bloomington, Il. Alicia and I went to a club in Champagn, managing to win a tournament, there, before I semi-retired, resting a very hurt arm and strained calf.

After years of Target, I've decided to go back to school, and am currently at Southwestern Illinois, studying Networking and Cisco Systems. I just started back up fencing recently, going with a real nice group called Academy Fencing Club in St. Louis. I just was hired on at a performing arts studio to develop a club here in the Metro East area, which we're calling Salle Bravo. I will have pictures and a fencing website posted asap.

I often wonder about how you all are doing, and drift back to this page to find the good old days. If you're the same, fell free to e-mail me at [email protected]

Looking forward to hearing from everyone, and would love to possibly have a "Blades" reunion when we visit Tennessee this Spring, if anyone's interested!

Chris Standridge,
Coach
Salle Bravo

The Blades of Knoxville Fencing Club no longer meets. From October, 2000 through May 2004, we poured our hearts into making this one of the best clubs in the state. Our accomplishments were phenomenal, especially when considering what challenges lay before us. I thank all who took part be it for a week or for four years. You guys should be so proud of all you did, whether it was winning a great tournament or finishing 187th. As I go to St. Louis, I hope I can take the spirit and courage of East Tennessee with me and show those guys what we're made of. I'll miss you all, and look forward to the occasional meeting in Nashville! It will be fun to meet you as peers, rather than as my students.

Until we cross again!

Chris and Alicia Standridge
Blades of Knoxville, always!
