All the three temples together, viz.,
I - Thanjai Mamani Kovil
II - Manikundram and
III - Thanjayali Nagar is considered as one Divya Desa and these are about 200 m from each other. The Lord presented Himself in the form of Nrisimha to Dhatchagan( Thanjagan - in Tamil) at his request, hence the name Thanjai. The Lord in Thanjai mamani kovil faces Thanjavur , hence is known as Thanjai Kattharulum Deivam ( Protector of Thanjavur).
