| The picture above was taken of me when I was getting back from Iraq, and the picture below is me in Iraq, I switched off as a driver and SAW gunner. Going over there has changed my views a lot. I have seen Iraq up close, I have been mortared, I have seen the culture, I have been through more than most people have in a lifetime. No one understands what those who have gone over there have been through, or what will remain with them forever in their mind. People need to realize that some things will never be shared and that they should not ask about it, if it's something to be shared it is up to the person. If you are really supportive of the troops then thank them when they come home, don't ask "how was it," let them know how great it is to have them back, and on Veteran's Day do something nice to let us know you appreciate us. |
