Delta Rho Ranch and Stables

“Sammy Jo, I’m home.” Jim yelled enjoying the way it sounded. He wheeled himself into the leaving room.

Sammy Jo entered the room angry. She decided to confront him.

”Jim, we need to talk.”

“Wait, stay there, I have a surprise for you.” Jim stood up and slowly walked up to her.

“Surprise” He pulled her into a hug.

“Wow!” Sammy Jo signed, happy that Steven was wrong. Jim wasn’t lying to her again.

“I wanted to tell you sooner but then I couldn’t do this.” Jim smiled and passionately kissed her. “Wow, I need to sit down.”

Sammy Jo sat beside him, ‘Well we have to celebrate, let’s go out for a change?”

“I can think of better ways to celebrate…” Jim kissed her.

“Jim, slow down. One step at a time” Sammy Jo still didn’t trust him completely; she wasn’t ready to lose herself in him again.

“I’ll wait for you forever if I have to.” Jim smiled.

“Let’s just enjoy this moment for now. Where do you feel like going out too?” Sammy Jo asked.

“It’s been a while since we went out, I have an idea but it’s a surprise.” Jim smiled.

“Alright. I’m going to change.” Sammy Jo stated.

“Sammy Jo, are you ok? Is everything alright?” Jim asked worried, something was on her mind.

“It’s nothing, you need any help?” She asked.

“No thanks I’ll manage. After all I’ll be back at work next week.” Jim explained.

“So soon?” Sammy Jo asked worried.

“Yeah, I’ll be advising but I hope to return to the surgery soon.” Jim smiled.

“Oh Jim, that’s wonderful, you’re so determined. I’m so proud of you.” She kissed his cheek.

“All because of you, you deserve the best!” He smiled at her.

Sammy Jo smiled. Has Jim really change or was he playing her again like Steven says.

“I’ll be right back!” She smiled.

Jim watched her walking away. She’ll be his soon, with or without Steven’s help.

Krystina and Kyle’s apartment

Krystina spent the whole day in the apartment, packing. She was worried. Kyle called only once and said he didn’t have news yet, and she decided to talk with Sammy Jo and ask her help. Krystle and Blake were too angry now and she preferred not to go to the mansion, until things would be calmer. She knew Sammy Jo won’t disappoint her and will let Kyle and her to stay at the ranch until they’ll find a solution. But before she picked up the phone, Kyle entered the apartment.

“Hi honey!” he ran toward her, all smiled.

“Hi!” she replied shortly, wondering about his good mood.

“Guess what, I have good news!”

“What?”

“You can unpack everything. We are staying here!”

“But – “

“I paid Mr. Cohen, we don’t need to leave, honey. I told you everything would be fine, see?”

“But how, where’s the money from?” she still didn’t understand.

“Well, that is the other news. I found a job!”

She exclaimed “Really!”

“Yes, honey. I finally found a job! And they even gave me an advance, can you believe it?”

“Wow, I’m… I don’t know what to say”

“That you happy maybe would be a good way to start” he smiled.

“Of course I’m happy, come over here” she reached her hand to him, and then she kissed and hugged him.

“We can unpack everything now,” he said.

“Wait, first you need to tell me what kind of job, okay?”

“Oh, something with selling” Kyle answered.

“Selling, of what? Where?”

“Oh, downtown, there’s a new company which is selling furniture. It will be door to door selling first, but if I give them good profits – I’ll get promoted, and a car, isn’t it great?” he asked and hugged her, hoping she wouldn’t ask any more questions…

Denver Carrington building- Adam’s office

Adam walked into his former office, looking around. It seemed an eternity since he had been there, he walked over to his desk noticing that the chair was facing the window, as it swung around he got the shock of his life. LB was sitting, in his chair.

“What are you doing in my office?”

“I’m sorry Adam, dad told me to use this office.”

“What do you mean use this office?” Adam demanded

“Well he said that you were no longer with the company, so you wouldn’t mind.”

“No longer with the company? I think there’s misunderstanding here”

“Maybe I should call my dad?” LB said as he pressed the intercom. With in minutes Jeff was standing before Adam trying to calm him down.

“Look Adam, I didn’t mean for you to find out this way, I just told LB to use your office until his is ready, besides, I wasn’t aware that you would be coming back to Denver Carrington.”

“Well, there are a lot of things you don’t know”

“Don’t get bet out of shape, I’m acting CEO until Blake comes back, so I’m sorry, but things had changed here, Adam while you were gone”

Adam smiled. “You still hate me don’t you Jeff?”

“I don’t hate you Adam; I just despise the way you operate. Now LB is working here and doing a terrific job. The company couldn’t wait for you for ever, you know”

“But I’m here now, Jeff. And I want my office back” he then turned to LB “Until tomorrow!” he said and then walked out of there.

Jeff turned to LB. neither one noticing that the intercom button was activated, Adam walked over to the desk usually occupied by his secretary. He was going to leave her a message when he heard the voices inside his office.

“Don’t worry, son. I’ll deal with Adam”

“I don’t want to cause any problems again, dad,” LB told his father.

“What problems? You never caused us any problems.”

“Still… I know that Steven is angry with me. He won’t forget what I did to his son so easily, and it already affected his relationship with mom,” LB continued, not knowing that Adam could hear every word form the intercom. “I just wish things could be different. I never wanted Danny to find out this way, neither Ashley”

“Listen to me, LB. What’s done is done. You can’t change it now. You should focus on your future. You have a wonderful job here and wonderful girl”

“I know. Ashley is great. I just hope grandpa won’t be mad when he hears the truth”

“I don’t think it’s a good time now to tell him, son”

“I can’t lie to him anymore”

“I know, but Blake is still weak, and he is already angry that we kept Krystina’s marriage as secret, I don’t want to think how he’ll react when he’ll find out you and Ashley are together now, not to mention the retirement” Jeff explained.

“He still doesn’t know anything about that?” LB asked.

“No… I just hope he’ll understand it’s for the best”

“I’m sure Krystle will convince him it’s time to retire” LB said.

Adam shut off the intercom as he saw the secretary comes back. He heard everything he had to know…

The Carlton Hotel – the restaurant.

Matt Tyler, Alexis’s attorney sat at his table, waiting for his client. Alexis was already more than thirty minutes late when she entered the restaurant.

The maitre greeted her as she stopped in front of his podium. “Good afternoon, ma’am. Your party has already been seated. Right this way.” He said, starting to lead Alexis over to her table.

Alexis followed the man through the room. She knew everybody’s eyes were on her and she heard the whispering behind her back. Without taking notice of it she walked up to the table, keeping her posture straight and poised.

“I didn’t think you were still coming.” Tyler remarked, standing up in time to pull her seat out.

Alexis ignored his comment and sat down. She didn’t even bother to apologize for her delay. “We could have met at ColbyCo, Mr. Tyler.” She said with a tone of annoyance in her voice.

He sat back down, moving his chair closer to hers so that they could talk in confidence. “Why? What’s wrong with the Carlton?” He asked innocently, being perfectly aware of what bothered her.

Alexis threw a look at him that said more than every word.

”Just ignore it.” He advised her. “Besides, I’m sure Alexis Colby is used that people stare at her.” He added with a smile.

“Did you read today’s papers?” She asked him.

“Sure.” Tyler replied. He secretly enjoyed the attention of the media and the notoriety and publicity he was going to gain through this case. “You can’t blame them. Everything that concerns Alexis Colby is big news.” He explained.

“The Mirror and the Chronicle have started a crusade against me. I’m convicted even before I got to trial.” She said angrily.

“I’m surprised that Alexis Colby gives a damn about other People’s opinion.” He said, leaning closer to her.

“T-sha, I really couldn’t care less.” She tried to assure him. Alexis didn’t mind her reputation as being cold and ruthless. It kept her opponents in distance. But being an accused murderer was something different.

“You’re innocent until proven guilty, and I’ll make sure that this won’t happen. We’ll get a verdict of not guilty.” He said self-assured.

“I wish I could share your optimism.” Alexis replied worried.

Her remark hurt his pride. ”You know my record. I’m not used to lose my cases, no matter if my clients are innocent or not.” He said with determination.

“And I’m innocent, Mr. Tyler.” She reminded him.

”You don’t need to convince me of your innocence. The jury has to believe you.” Tyler made clear.

”So, you also would represent me if I would be guilty?” She asked.

Tyler laughed. ”It’s unimportant what I think, Mrs. Colby. I’m doing my job and that’s to save you from prison.” He sat up straighter. “And that’s what I’m going to do.”

Alexis looked at him. He was very self-assured, almost arrogant. Alexis liked that attitude.

The Carrington Mansion- Blake’s study

Blake sat behind the desk of his finely decorated study. He looked up as Adam walked in and went over to the bar. Adam poured himself a drink, Blake stood up and walked over to his eldest son.

“Hello father, how are you?” Adam asked.

“Things could be better I guess. Are you all right, Adam? is everything okay?”

“Well I’ve just drove form Denver Carrington and found LB in my office; you could say I was a little surprised.”

“Oh, I meant to speak to you about that, but with every thing that’s been going on, I’ve had other things on my mind.”

Adam turned to his father. “I’m sorry; Krystle told me about my dear sister’s secret marriage, I’m sure it’s taken its toll on you.”

“I could kill that young man.” Blake said as he sat in one of the leather sofa’s “And all the deception, how could they.”

“I’m sure no one wanted to upset you father.”

Blake shook his head, “Never mind that now, I’m sorry about LB. but it’s only temporary.”

“Well I’m glad to hear that because I want to go back to Denver Carrington full time.”

“Do you think that you are ready, son?”

“Yes, I think I need this right now.” Adam smiled, “I want to keep a watch over Jeff.”

“Oh, Adam. don’t tell me you two had fight”

“No, But since you are going to retire, I think at least one Carrington should still be with the company.”

“Retire, what gave you that idea?” Blake asked.

“Jeff and Krystle have been talking about it for weeks, I think Jeff, LB and I will make a good team.”

Blake was shaking his head. “Retire, I never –“ but Adam cut him off.

“I just hope that Danny won’t feel left out, I know that he and LB have been fighting lately.”

“What?” Blake was still in shock about retirement, and that Krystle was keeping something else form him, he also hadn’t noticed LB and Danny fighting.

Adam stood up walking to the door. “Oh you know, they were both fighting over Ashley, and LB won. Now he’s at Denver Carrington… I just hope Danny doesn’t take it too hard.” Adam turned to leave. “But I’m sure everything will be fine. The most important thing now is your health,” Adam said. “Well I won’t bother you, I have to call Dana; she is coming for a visit in a few days” Adam turned and walked out, smiling.

Blake sat back. His world reeling. The whole family had lied to him, Krystle, Krystina, Jeff, LB and Danny “Damn them, Damn them all.” He knocked on the table, angry.

Back at the Carlton

Alexis and her attorney exited the restaurant into the lobby of the Carlton.

“If you insist we’ll file a suit for injunction against the Mirror, but I advise you not to. We won’t get very far.” Tyler told her.

Alexis knew he was right. “I’ll let you know my decision tomorrow.”

“Alright, see you tomorrow.” He replied. The two shook hands and said good-bye.

As Alexis made her way through the lobby, a newspaper reporter stepped out in front of her. “Mrs. Colby, I would like to ask you a few questions about your sister’s death ...” He stated, holding a small tape recorder into her face.

Alexis push it away and continued walking, without giving a comment.

The young man was determined to get an interview. This was his chance. He followed Alexis and grabbed her by the arm, stopping her from leaving. “Ma’am, you got me wrong. I would like to give you the possibility to tell your view of the story ...” He tried to lure her.

“Take your hands off!” Alexis demanded, looking down at the man’s hand, still on her arm.

The young reporter immediately let go of her arm, but still blocked her path and continued to bother her with questions. “Don’t you think the public has a right to know what happened to Mrs. Morel and Mr. Powers? Why did she have to die?”

Suddenly he heard a collected but insistent voice behind him. “I suggest that you get lost now!”

The young reporter turned swiftly around. “Hey man, why don’t you take care of your own business?” He hissed at Dex.

Dex reached forward and grabbed him by the suit. “That’s what I’m doing, boy!” He said and the tone in his voice left no room for doubt that he meant it.

“Sir, I was simply interviewing Mrs. Colby ...” The young man defended himself.

“Sure, but the interview is over now.” Dex stated firmly, letting go of him.

Without hesitation, the reporter turned and walked away.

“Are you alright?” Dex inquired, turning his attention to Alexis.

“Thanks, but I could have handled that myself.” She replied coolly.

Dex didn’t miss the icy tone in her voice. “I know.” He said.

There was an uneasy moment of silence. Both were unsure of what they should say. They had seen each other last months ago and a lot had happened since then.

“I’m really sorry about Caress.” Dex finally said.

“She knew what she was doing.” Alexis replied, without a trace of emotion. She didn’t want to talk about Caress anymore. There were other and more important things Alexis wanted to talk about, for instant about his ridiculous intention to marry her cousin.

The situation was definitely uncomfortable for Dex. Surely, Alexis had heard about him and Sable. Dex felt he had to explain it to her. But what should he say?

“Now, where is this fiancé of yours?” Alexis touched upon the subject. “Aren’t you afraid she might catch us together … I mean talking together?” Alexis asked.

Dex got the double meaning behind that question.

Meanwhile, Sable made her way from her suite down to the lobby. She stepped out of the elevator and looked for Dex. Soon she caught sight of him and Alexis.

Sable stopped in her tracks, watching the scene with a bad feeling. Was there something going on between them? For a moment, she felt as if she was on the verge of remembering something, but her memory went blank again. She couldn’t help but feel jealous. She knew she had to fight that feeling; otherwise, it would ruin her relationship with Dex.

She told herself that she could trust Dex completely, while she walked up to them.

Suddenly Alexis’s gaze turned into a cold look. Dex glanced over to where Alexis’s eyes where fixed on and noticed Sable approaching them. His heart sank.

“Hi, did I interrupt anything?” Sable asked, addressing Dex.

“No, of course not” Dex replied quickly, trying to control his nervousness.

The smile on Sable’s face instantly told Alexis, that Dex hadn’t talked to her yet.

“Hello Alexis, I assumed you to be lucked up in a dark jail cell.” Sable grinned and didn’t hide her disdain for her cousin.

“I’m sorry to disappoint you.” Alexis replied, barely able to contain her contempt for Sable.

Alexis’s eyes flit down to Sable’s right hand as her diamond ring caught the light. Sable caught her, looking at it. “Yes. We’ve decided to get married.” She said, wrapping demonstratively an arm around Dex.

“Oh really” Alexis forced a smile on her face. “Well, people make mistakes.”

Sable dismissed her remark with a laugh.

Dex was beginning to get more and more uncomfortable. The situation was a nightmare, and he was terrified his secret could be exposed.

Alexis’s temper was rising fast. She desperately wanted to wipe the smirk off Sable’s face, by telling her that Dex had betrayed her and lied to her. “Since I know Dex better than you ever will, I should warn you that Dex has a habit of repeating mistakes ...” She started, turning to Dex and looking him square into the face.

A shiver ran down his spine. The moment he had feared most was about to arrive. Dex knew he could have prevented this; it was his own fault. Now it was only a matter of seconds before Alexis told Sable the truth.

Alexis wanted to continue, but couldn’t go on when she saw the panic in Dex’s eyes. She hesitated. “You know what? You two deserve each other.” She remarked sarcastically, after a few moments of consideration.

“Good luck! I doubt that it’ll last very long.” She added. Her eyes searched Dex’s one final time and then she left quickly.

Dex was filled with all kind of conflicting emotions. He felt sorrow, guilt, and at the same time relief that Alexis had left. He was confused that she hadn’t revealed the truth to Sable, and he was worried that Sable might have noticed something.

And indeed, Sable had sensed something. It wasn’t what Alexis had said. She probably was just trying to cause trouble. It was what Alexis had not said. She hesitated, but finally asked. “Dex, is there something you’re not telling me?”

Dex didn’t answer right away. Instead, a worried look crossed his eyes.

“What’s wrong, Dex?” Sable pleaded.

“What do you mean? Nothing is wrong.” He replied as composedly as possible.

“Are you being completely honest with me?” She asked, studying his face. Sable needed certainty.

Dex could hardly stand to look in her eyes. He was lying. But he couldn’t tell her the truth, not now. “Yes.” He assured her.

Sable was unsure. She supposed she believed him, but something was bothering him. “Alright, darling. But you would tell me if something was wrong, right?”

“Darling, what should be wrong?”

“I don’t know. Are you sure you still want to marry me?” She asked playfully.

He put his arms around her and pulled her close. ”You and our son are the most important things in my life, you and Cameron.”

“I take that as a YES.” Sable said and kissed him tenderly.

Dex knew he couldn’t get on with this lie forever. He had to tell her soon, but how?

Sable’s cell phone rang, and she answered it, “Hello?... yes…, I understand, okay.”

“What is it?”

“The results of the blood tests are in.” Sable said, worried.

Jim’s Apartment

“Are you sure you won’t stay for dinner?” Ashley asked Jim from the kitchen. He came by surprise to show her he was walking again.

“No, thank you, Ashley. Sammy Jo is waiting for me,” he answered. Ashley came back to the salon with cup of coffee. “Thanks” he said. “I feel like I haven’t been here for ages now”

“Well I hope you won’t come back so soon” she smiled and joined him in the sofa.

“You like it here to be alone with LB, hmm?” he smiled back.

“It’s cool, yes. LB and I can’t see each other at the mansion cause Mr. Carrington still don’t know about us. But regardless, I’m sure you rather stay at the ranch then come back here, am I wrong?”

“No you’re not,” he said and they both laughed.

“It seems like everything settled for us finally. I just hope nobody will spoil that for us”

“You have nothing to worry. LB loves you, and I believe Sammy Jo still likes you, despite the fact you betrayed her son. She’s really special, Ash. I won’t let anybody come between us. Especially not Steven”

“But what if he’s the father?”

“Let’s just say I have a strong feeling that I’m the father” Jim smiled.

“Okay... just don’t be too apathetic. Steven won’t give up on Sammy Jo so easily. Of course everything will be easier if it turned out you are the father, but you can’t ignore the possibility that it might be his,” Ashley said as the door opened and LB came in.

“Hey, babe!” he called, not seeing Jim.

“Hi honey, come over here, we have some company” she called. LB walked inside the living room and was surprise to see Jim.

“Jim, Hi” he said.

“Hello LB, how are you?”

“Fine, thank you. I see you are walking again”

“Yes, I came to surprise Ashley”

“And you certainly succeed” she smiled.

“Well I better go now. Sammy Jo probably is waiting for me”

“How is she?” LB asked.

“Alright, though I guess the next two months will be tougher”

“I’m sure you’ll take care good of her,” LB said.

“You can count on that” Jim replied and stood up, reaching his cane.

“Here, let me help you” Ashley gave him the cane and helped him stand up.

“Thank you, Ashley. Well, have a great evening you two. I’ll be in touch, Ash”

“Sure, I’ll walk you out” Ashley said and went with him to the doorway.

“Bye, Jim take care” LB called after him.

“Thanks, Bye” Jim called back and walked out the door.

“I think he likes me,” LB said smiling when Ashley came back into the salon.

“He always liked you, you stupid head. Now… how was your day, Mr. Colby?”

“Okay, I’m learning fast, but the problem is that Adam came back today to the office. He wasn’t too improved to see me sitting in his place”

“Oh no”

“Yes. I think he’ll do everything he can to kick me out of the company”

“Why?”

“Because he is Adam, that’s why” he said when his cell phone rang. “Hello?” he picked it up. “Oh hi mom, what’s up? No, I didn’t talk to her today. Is everything all right? I see. Well, I’ll let you know if she’ll call me. Sure, no problem, okay. Bye mom” he hung up.

“What happened?” Ashley asked.

“Lauren ran out again”

A bar downtown Denver

“I’m sorry, pal. You can’t enter here. Go find yourself another bar” the bodyguard said, refusing to let Lauren and Ricky entering the bar.

“Come on, man. It’s freezing outside; the girl won’t drink anything, okay?”

“I said no” the man insisted.

“Okay, so let me in, okay? The girl will stay out” Ricky said.

“No, I won’t! Are you crazy or what?” Lauren yelled at him. He held by her arm and took her aside. “Ouch! You’re hurting me!”

“Listen to me, I happen to knows the boss here, two minutes and you’re in” he convinced her and entered the bar. Lauren stayed outside, staring at the bodyguard.

“What’s your problem, babe?” he asked.

“I don’t have any problems, but I think you are going to have,” she said.

“What?”

“My father owns this town. One word of him to the authorizes and your are shut down”

“You are bluffing!” he laughed.

“You won’t laugh when the police will close this place and you’ll be with no job” she said coldly and determined.

“Listen, babe – “

“Don’t call me babe; I’m not your babe. Got that?, Now you are letting me in, or what?!”

Steven’s apartment

“Just a moment” Steven called when he went out from the shower, fixing a towel around his naked body.

“Hello, Mr. Carrington, I hope I’m not interrupt” Craig Harper said, looking at the almost naked Steven...

ColbyCo, Alexis’s office

Alexis was still in her office, thinking about the incident with Sable and Dex earlier. Mostly she was angry with herself for wasting a perfect opportunity to humiliate her hated cousin and to get back at her for destroying her relationship with Dex. What was wrong with her? Why hadn’t she used the chance to tell Sable about her night with Dex and bring back her memory? Alexis believed that in the minute Sable remembered again everything she obviously had forgotten, she would leave Dex. It was behind Alexis’s imagination that her cousin would forgive Dex his affair and his lying about it. But maybe she was mistaken, maybe their love was strong enough to get over it. Alexis tried to push those thoughts out of her mind, but she knew she couldn’t ignore this possibility.

Alexis’s hatred at her cousin was immeasurably. Why hadn’t this bitch and her brat stayed in Europe? But what bothered her most was Dex’s behavior. She couldn’t even say what upset her more, Dex’s cowardice or his consideration for Sable’s feelings. Back then he hadn’t minded to tell her about his affair with Sable and to hurt her with his confession. Now he was acting completely different, and Alexis could only think of one reason why – this night she and Dex had spent together hadn’t meant anything to him.

She shouldn’t be thinking about it, because every time she did it hurt. After all, Dex wasn’t coming back. She knew she finally had to go on with her life and to concentrate on her trial. Damn it! She was angry. Why did Dex still stir her emotions so much?

The buzzing of the intercom interrupted her thoughts. She turned towards her desk and picked the phone up.

“Mr. Lewiston is on line one, ma’am.” Her secretary announced.

Alexis pressed the button, connecting her to the president of the bank Bloomfield & Grant. “What can I do for you, Mr. Lewiston?”

“Mr. Dexter asked for an extension of time for the redemption of the loan.” The banker informed her, confident that Alexis Colby would accept the request of her ex-husband.

Since her deal with Bloomfield & Grant, that had saved Dex from going bankrupt temporarily, Alexis had been following closely the business of Dexter International. She had heard of Dex’s problems and she had already assumed that Dex might have trouble to pay back the loan in time. She had no doubts that Dex would get out of the financial hole when given more time, because all his fields were producing and he had managed to sign a few promising deals. Alexis knew that turning down Dex’s request for an extension wouldn’t only hurt Dexter International. It also wasn’t a wise decision for Colby Co’ interests, but that didn’t matter to Alexis right now.

“No extension!” She said firmly, after a few moments of consideration. Alexis had never managed to separate her emotions from her business decisions. She wanted to punish Dex, even if a part of her hated doing this to him. But he had hurt her deeply.

Back to the bar

“I’m telling you man, the girl is full of money. Her family owns half of the city” Ricky tried to convince the Bar’s manager to let Lauren come in.

“Look, pal. I’m not playing here with underage girls who will go cry to daddy if something bad happens here, especially if her dad is a well-known person!” the man said.

“She isn’t like that, I’m telling you. She’s tough”

“Hey, Rick!” Lauren called him amused when she entered the bar.

“Lauren! How did you get in?” Ricky didn’t understand.

“I’m not as stupid as you think. Hey, this is the friend you told me about?” she asked, looking at the man who stood next to Ricky.

“A friend, hmm?” the man looked at Ricky and then turned to Lauren. “I’m Bob Wagner, babe. Who I have the pleasure with?” he asked.

“Lauren. Lauren Colby” Lauren smiled to him.

“It’s a pleasure, Miss Colby, welcome to the “Wagner world!” Bob smiled and light a cigarette.

Back at Steven’s apartment

“Steven, if I knew how grateful you’d be for my offer to help you with your investigation, I would have come sooner.” Craig Harper stated as he sat up in Steven’s bed. Steven was still lying under the silk sheet.

“Sergeant Harper, listen I…” Steven began.

“I think we are on to first names by now.” Craig smiled.

“Craig, I don’t know what came into me, I never act like this .I…” Steven sat up looking lost.

“Don’t worry I wont hold it against you.” Craig chuckled.

“Look, I like you a lot but…” Steven continued.

“You certainly proved that.” Craig caressed Steven face.

“It’s a little too fast for me; I usually like to get to know some one better before I…” Steven smiled.

Craig agreed, “An old fashion guy, how cute. I’ll make a deal with you, as of tomorrow we’ll forget tonight happened and get to know each other. Who knows, we might not even like each other, Deal?” Craig smiled. The last thing he needed right now was a relationship. He knew Steven’s reputation, but Steven was so cute and handsome, he couldn’t resist him.

“Sounds great!” Steven agreed. He needed to concentrate on his mother and Sammy Jo especially Sammy Jo, he’ll prove her accusations was wrong.

“Now what do we do until tomorrow…” Craig pulled Steven and kissed him.

The Mansion

Blake and Krystle hadn’t talked to each other the whole day. Krystle had left before lunch to do some shopping and met a friend of hers in town. Blake was sitting over his papers most of the day and tried not to think about the fight. From his point of view, he was right in every sense. Although he understood Krystle’s worries about his health and condition, he was very disappointed that she hadn’t told him the truth about Krystina, and more then that, about the retirement issue and the affair LB had with Ashley. So, when Krystle got home in the later afternoon he was still angry.

“Hello Blake” Krystle said softly, when she entered the study. She felt still a bit guilty for not telling him the truth but she also still felt hurt about the whole Patricia story. She knew they had to talk about it in order to stand together again and go through this time of confusion and misunderstandings.

“Oh, hello,” Blake mumbled, quickly looked up and then turned to his papers again. Krystle stepped over and kissed her husband on the cheek, but he seemed to ignore her.

“Blake, I think we need to talk.” She said carefully. Now Blake took his glasses off and looked directly at her.

“Talk about what? The lies you’ve been telling me?”

“I know you angry, and you right. I should have told you about Krystina – “

“I’m not talking only about Krystina, Krystle” he raised his voice.

“What?”

“How could you? You, and Jeff, and the rest of the family!” he stood up and the anger came out all in once.

“Blake, I don’t get that” Krystle couldn’t imagine that he found out about the retirement idea and about LB and Ashley’s affair.

“Stop pretending, Krystle!, I know it all! I know about the retirement plans you and Jeff have for me, about the affair LB is having with Ashley, I know everything!” he yelled now.

“Blake, let me – “

“Let you what? Explain? All the lies that you told me, all the things that you kept in secret from me, how could you, Krystle, you out of everyone in my family, you are my wife for god’s sake!”

“All that I have kept form you was for your own sake” she said quietly, trying not to cry “but what about you and this Patricia?”

“What?”

“Yes, Blake. Patricia! The woman you was about to marry twenty five years ago”

Blake sighed. “It’s nothing. She just came back because she wanted to wish me well and say hello – she happened to be in town.”

“Do you really believe that, Blake?” Krystle’s voice rose. Blake made a gesture with his hand.

“I’m not going listen to this anymore! While our daughter is running blindly in her misery, you make an elephant out of nothing. Not to mention that all the family knows that I’m going to retire!”

“I wanted to tell you about that – “

“When? Before I’ll go back to the office or after? Or maybe you and Jeff planned to make it public and only then inform me!”

“That’s not fair, Blake! And I can say exactly the same about this Patricia Woman! You’re accusing me of lying to you, while you hide something from me too! And you accuse our daughter of being blind. But maybe you’re the one who’s blind, Blake.”
