The mansion, Blake and Krystle’s bedroom – Next morning

When Blake opened his eyes, he saw that Krystle had brought breakfast.

“Oh, you’re awake. Good morning, darling.” Krystle said and kissed her husband, after she had put the tray down.

Blake got out of bed. “Good morning. Mmmh, breakfast looks delicious. And I’m as hungry as a bear.“ Blake sat down at the table and poured himself a cup of coffee. “I’m feeling great today. Almost as good as new.” He grinned. “By the way, did you manage to call everybody because of tonight?”

“Well, Fallon, Jeff, Steven and their children will be here. I think Danny will come with Ashley, and Amanda will try to make it too.”

“Good. I just wished Adam would be here.” Blake replied sadly, wishing he would finally hear from his eldest son.

“I know, Blake. Me too.” Krystle replied before adding concerned, “besides I’m a bit worried, because there is still a lot of tension and I have the feeling that the family isn’t really in the mood for celebration.“ Krystle felt horrible, thinking about maybe having to tell him that Krystina wasn’t coming. Blake would be furious and it would spoil the whole Christmas celebration. She was still angry at her daughter for moving back in with Kyle.

Blake took Krystle’s hands and looked her in the eyes. “Now don’t worry, darling. Everything will be fine. We will all appreciate to be around each other. And no matter what tension is around, the love of our family is stronger.”

Krystle tried to smile.

“Talking about family,“ Blake continued and took a sip of his coffee. “Where is Krystina?“

“Oh, she had to go and do some shopping.” Krystle lied and tried to hide her nervousness.

“You know, I thought maybe Krystina would like to join Denver Carrington. She would have to start at the bottom, but she’d have good chances to climb into a good position.”

“I don’t...know.“

“Why not? LB has joined the company too. And I’m very much looking forward to working with that young man. He’s smart and has guts and strength.” Blake said and made a fist to underline his opinion. “I think finally the next generation of the Carringtons is ready to become a major part of Denver Carrington.” Krystle hoped that this fact would make it easier for Blake to accept his retirement.

“Good morning,“ Steven called when he entered the room. Blake and Krystle turned around.

“Good morning,“ Blake and Krystle replied. “Good to see you, son!“ Blake said and hugged his son.

“I just dropped by to see how you are doing? I’m happy to see that you’re better.“

“Much better. I’ll take another week or two though, before I go back to work.“ Blake said.

Krystle threw a look at Steven. She hoped he wouldn’t mention anything about Blake’s retirement. “I leave you two alone. There are still preparations to do.” She said and left the room.

“Would you like some coffee?“ Blake asked

“No, thank you. I have to go soon, dad. Actually I wanted to ask you something because of tonight. It’s about Alexis.“

“What is it?“

“I would like to invite mother to the dinner.” Steven stated carefully, knowing how Blake felt about her. B
His son’s request surprised Blake a bit. He hesitated and his facial expression told Steven that he was not thrilled about the idea. “I don’t know, Steven. I’m not sure that this is a good idea. I want a harmonic evening and that’s not possible with your mother.”

Steven objected. “She won’t cause any tension. She’s been through a lot lately like all of us. First Adam’s disappearance, then Caress’s death, and ...” Steven paused for a second and shook his head. “And even if I don’t understand it, I know she cares for Zach Powers and she fears to lose him.” He looked at his father. “You know that she loves LB, Danny, Lauren, Joseph, and Cathy as much as you do. I would like Alexis to spend Christmas with her children and grandchildren.”



After a few seconds of consideration, Blake nodded his head in agreement. He just had expressed his wish to reunite the family, and after all, Alexis was the mother of his children. “Alright. Tell her I would like her to come.”

“Thank you dad. I appreciate it.” Steven smiled. “I have to go now. See you later.” He walked out, going to ask Krystle as well.

“See you, son.” Blake returned.

It seemed they really would have family reunion, the first one in a long time. The only thing that shaded his good mood was the fact that Adam wouldn’t be with them tonight. He missed his son so much. They had their differences in the past, but that was unimportant now. He took the framed picture of Kirby and Adam at their wedding day and looked at it.

Two knocks on the door disturbed his thoughts.

“Yes, come on in.” Blake called. He put the picture back on the desk and smiled as Danny walked in.

“Hi, grandpa.” The young man came inside and gave the old man a kiss.

“Danny, what a lovely surprise!” He was very happy to see his grandson.



“How are you, grandpa?” The boy asked, sitting down on the edge of the bed.

“Much better, thank you. Actually you just missed your father. He stopped by to ask if Alexis could spend this evening with us.” Blake said.

“Oh, so she’s coming?”

“Yes she is. You know Alexis and I have our differences, but she is your grandmother. And she does love all of you.” He said, referring to the grandchildren. “I heard you will be here too.”

“Well I hope so. I have so much catching up to do with my studies, after I missed school because of all the crazy things that happened here lately. I actually thought about to take the next flight back to Princeton.”

“But nobody will be there during the holiday season. You should be here with us, and how about Ashley. I’m sure she would like to join us tomorrow. Jim is still in the hospital, and that’s not a nice place to celebrate Christmas.”

“I guess not.”

“So it’s agreed. You will be here, Danny. I want all of my grandchildren to sit around the table, especially you and LB. You know he’s joining the company now. I would like you to work at Denver Carrington as well, once you graduate. You’ll be a great value to the company.” Blake said smiling and Danny forced himself to return the smile.

“Don’t worry about that, grandpa. The most important thing right now is that you recover.” The boy said.

“I’m fine. The best cure for me is to see the family together tonight, including you.” He gave the boy a pat on the back. Danny smiled.

“Okay, grandpa. I’ll do my best.” Danny didn’t want to promise anything. He still wasn’t sure this charade would work. If it would be up to him, he would be on an airplane back to New York by now.

“Be here, Danny. Don’t disappoint me.” Blake was serious now.

“I’ll let you rest now. Take care, grandpa.” He stood up and was about to leave.

“See you at dinner.” Blake called after him. Danny smiled and walked out.


The Main Entrance to the mansion

“Good morning, Miss Hamilton” Gerard welcomed Ashley when she walked into the house.

“Good morning, Gerard. Is LB upstairs?”

“Yes, I believe he is.” He answered and went back inside the kitchen, to help Janet and Krystle with the preparations for dinner. Ashley was about to go upstairs when she noticed Danny at the staircase. They both stopped walking suddenly and looked at each other for some time, until Danny did the first step downstairs on his way out, ignoring Ashley. But she stopped him.

“How much longer do you want to punish me, Danny?”

“I’m not punishing you at all. I’m just ignoring the fact that you exist.” He said and tried to pass her, but she didn’t let go of him.

“So, you plan to ignore me at dinner too, hmm?”

“Who said that I would be at the dinner?” He surprised her.

“What? But I thought …“

“You thought wrong, okay? I’m not going to pretend like nothing happened and that we are one big happy family.”

“Not even for your grandfather’s sake?” She made it more difficult for him.

“My grandfather hates lies, and he would be furious to know that I lied to him. Maybe that’s your and LB’s style, but certainly not mine.”



“Okay. I guess I deserve it, but it’s not fair to your family. They all going to be here, trying to be happy and reunited, and it won’t happen if you’ll walk away and spent Christmas alone in Princeton.”

“Well, that’s better than to join this charade!” He said, pushing Ashley slightly away, not noticing LB who went downstairs.

“Danny, please!” Ashley called after her ex boyfriend.

“Let him go, Ash. He always was a coward!” LB called and joined Ashley. Danny stopped at the entrance and turned around, coming face to face with LB. Suddenly all the hatred and the anger that accumulated inside of him came out, and he punched LB right in his face. The boy fell to the floor, his nose bleeding.

“A coward, hmm?” Danny sharked, but LB didn’t give up. He stood up and punched his cousin back.

“LB, please don’t!” Ashley yelled at him, but LB ignored her and continued punching Danny. Danny punched him back, but wasn’t as strong as his cousin. The two of them felt to the floor, struggling with each other. In seconds, Lauren showed up at the place with Gerard and Krystle, trying to break them apart.

“Stop that, both of you, please!” Ashley yelled at them.

“That’s enough, guys. Clam down!” Gerard asked them and held Danny, while Ashley and Lauren pulled LB’s away.

“Holy lord, what are you doing? It’s Christmas!” Krystle said reproachful.



“He started!” LB blamed Danny, still been held by Lauren and Ashley.

“You are a jerk, LB. That’s what you are!” Lauren said, when the bell of main door rung. Gerald looked at Danny.



“I’m fine, I’m fine.” Danny assured him and the majordomos went to open the door.

“Hello, I’m here for Lauren.” A young man holding helmet smiled at Gerard.

“I’m here, Ricky!” The girl jumped amused. “Bye everybody, don’t be bad to Krystle!” She said smiling and run to the boy.

“Hey, where are you going?!” LB called after her.

“It’s none of your business!” She said before vanishing with the boy on his motorcycle. Gerard closed the door and came back inside the house.

“It’s okay, Gerard, thank you.” Krystle dismissed him.
“What’s that suppose to mean?” LB asked, referring to Lauren and the boy she just left with.

“I should ask you both the same!” Krystle said angrily, looking at LB and Danny. “I hope your grandfather didn’t hear anything. He is so happy to have all of the family here tonight. I won’t let you spoil it, do you understand?” She asked and the boys looked at her, ashamed. “Now, I expect to see you all together here this evening. You too, Danny.”

“Krystle, it’s not that simple.” The boy tried to object.

“Yes it is. If your grandfather and I can go along with Alexis, I think you can spend this evening together and behave civil.”

“Don’t worry, Krystle. They will be, right, guys?” Ashley turned and looked at them. They knew they didn’t have a choice, but to agree.

“Mrs. Carrington, there is a phone call for you on line two.” Jeanette announced. “It’s important,” she added and Krystle went to the lobby corner to pick up the phone.

“Yes, hello?” She asked and a look of joy spread over her face as she heard the voice at the other side of the line. “Adam!” She exclaimed happily.


Billings, Montana Police department

The woman watched Adam as he talked at the telephone. Thunders and massive wind stormed outside the station. She looked at him, feeling sorry for him that after all what he’s been though, he wouldn’t be able to spend Christmas with his family.

Adam sat across the desk form the woman. She watched him with sharp eyes.

“I’m very sorry, Mr. Carrington.“ She said to him when he finished his phone call. He nodded and signed the papers she gave him. “It’s almost over. I just need one more signature.” She said as she passed one more paper towards him.

“I understand. It’s okay.”

“Will you be leaving town soon?” She asked.

“Soon after the storm will abate.” He answered.


ColbyCo, Alexis’s office

“Mother, I really would like you to accept Blake’s invitation and come tonight.” Steven tried to convince Alexis to join the family dinner at the mansion.

But she seemed not too enthusiastic about Steven’s proposal. “I don’t think that’s a good idea, darling.” She objected.

“Why not? It’s Christmas. I don’t want you to be alone after all what happened in the last time.” He replied determinedly.

“Great! Spending Christmas together with your father and Krystle would definitely make a terrible year perfect.” She remarked sarcastically.

Steven didn’t appreciate her sarcasm. “Oh come on, mother. The last year was difficult for all of us and there is so much tension within the family. Dad wants to reunite the family and ...”

Alexis cut him off. “That will never work.”



“Amanda and Fallon will try, even Danny and LB will do. If the rest of the family can forgive and forget, at least for one evening and for the sake of Blake, why can’t you? Blake and you should set a good example. Besides, who knows how many more opportunities the two of you will get to settle your differences. Don’t miss this chance.”

Alexis lit a cigarette and inhaled. “Alright, I will.” She agreed. Actually she was looking forward to spending Christmas together with all her children and all her grandchildren.

“Good.” Steven remarked relieved. He had managed the impossible; both of his parents had agreed to a joint dinner. “Then I see you tonight.” He stated and turned to leave. When he reached the door he turned around again. “And please, no fighting tonight.”

Alexis seat up in her chair. “Why does everybody always pretends that I’m responsible for every confrontation with your farther?” She asked reproachfully.

“Maybe because usually you are?” Steven replied, addressing a meaningful smile at her.

Alexis pretended to be offended.

“See you later, mother.” He said and opened the door.

“Bye, darling.”


A boutique in downtown

"The white one was the best.” Krystle stated as Sammy Jo stood in front of the mirror with a beautiful red gown.

"I like this one too. I'll just get them both." Sammy Jo stated.

Krystle laughed, "But you'll wear the white one for Christmas dinner?" Krystle asked.

"Like Danny, I can never say no to you!" Sammy Jo teased as she went to change to another outfit she was thinking of buying.

"Oh, I'm so glad Danny and Ashley agreed to put on this charade for Blake's sake. The last thing he needs is to see his family thorn apart because of this story. I just hope LB will behave." Krystle said.

"He will. He loves Blake. Even Steven promised he’ll be on his best behavior." Sammy Jo came out with another dress, a more casual one.

"Cute. How is Steven doing?" Krystle asked. She was worried about him.

"He's better, both physically and emotionally. He has finally stopped blaming himself for the Lindsay ordeal. A nice Christmas dinner is exactly what we all need." Sammy Jo stated.

"And how are you in all this mess? Living with Steven again and Danny moping around?" Krystle asked.

Sammy Jo hadn’t said much, but Krystle knew this was hard on her.

"Steven and I have been running in the same circle for years, same old same old. I just don't care anymore. He even told me to stay away from Jim, just like old times." Sammy Jo explained.

"So, what are you going to do about Jim? You really think he can change?" Krystle asked.

"I don't know, but I love him and after all the second chances I have had in my life, maybe it's time I give him one. Also what Ashley said struck a cord." Sammy Jo explained.

"Ashley is right, he's a wonderful father. Just be careful, I don't want to see you get hurt." Krystle said.

"I know Krystle, but you and I both know that's the risk you take in a relationship. That's why you and Blake should let Krystina find out on her own what a lowlife Kyle really is. The hard way." Sammy Jo went back to change.

"You're probably right. I just hope she makes it to Christmas dinner. I don't know how to tell Blake." Krystle signed.

"She'll be there, she knows how important it is. Now we haven't found a dress for you yet!" Sammy Jo took Krystle's hand and dragged her to find a dress.

After one hour of extensive shopping, Sammy Jo had two bags full of new clothes. She knew she had bought too much, but she loved shopping. „Gosh, I’m hungry,“ Sammy Jo said. „Let’s go for lunch. I’ll invite you.“

“Sure!“ Krystle replied. As they left the boutique, Krystle almost bumped into a woman, who had been watching her and her niece for the last ten minutes.

“Oh, I’m sorry.“ Krystle apologized. Patricia only stared at her without saying anything. They looked at each other for a moment. Krystle shuddered a bit. The look on the other woman’s face puzzled her.

“Krystle, come on.“ Sammy Jo called her outside the boutique.

What a beautiful woman, Patricia thought. She had the look of an angel. Despite that fact, Patricia changed her plans and left the boutique as well. A few minutes later, she was sitting on a chair in the beauty parlor. An employee was already aside her, asking what Patricia wanted to have done.

„A face massage, make-up and a change of the hair color” she said.



“Which one?” the young man asked her.

“Blonde” She smiled at the employee.

Denver Carrington, Blake’s office

“A fight?” Jeff wasn’t too enthusiastic to hear from his son what had happened at the mansion two hours earlier.

“Well, things got under control. But he started!” LB defended himself.

“That’s exactly what your mother and I were afraid of.” Jeff closed his suitcase and stood up, behind Blake’s desk.

“Dad, you know Ashley and I didn’t plan anything. It just happened. I met Ashley long before Danny did. It was just bad coincidence that he met her before I found her. I wish things could be different, but they’re not. I hate what it’s doing to the family, but what I can do?”

“Nothing, really. You saw what it caused over dinner the other day, with Steven and Sammy Jo.”

“Yes. I didn’t have the chance to talk to mother, but I wish she wouldn’t defend me so much. I’m grown up. I can take care of myself, you know.”

“I know, son. But she is your mother, she’ll always protect you. I remember when you were a little boy Fallon’s legs were paralyzed after an accident. When she saw that you were about to fall into the pool and you could drown, she got the feeling in her legs back and saved you at you at the last minute.”
B LB smiled. “Yes, I know that story.”

“It shows you how much she loves you. You’re her first born son; not to mention the first grandson in the family. Little Blake.” Jeff smiled.

“I hate that name. I’m not a little boy anymore.” LB replied.

“You and Lauren will always be your mother’s babies. We both want to see you happy. And if Ashley makes you happy, we’re happy for you as well.” Jeff gave his son a pat on the back.

“I know, dad. And I’m thankful for that.”

“Just don’t get into trouble again. And try to stay away from Danny.”

“Believe me, I will. Oh, speaking of Lauren, do you have any idea who Ricky is?” LB asked his father.

“No, should I?”

“Well he stopped by at the mansion to pick Lauren up on his motorcycle.”

“A motorcycle?” Jeff didn’t like the idea that his daughter was driving on this machine with a guy he didn’t know.

“She’s acting weird lately, dad. Maybe you and mom should talk to her.”

“We are certainly going to do that.” Jeff said seriously.

“Good. I have to go now; I need to check the accounts John asked me too.” LB was about to walk out.

“Don’t work too hard. You’ll be very busy after Christmas.” Jeff called after him. “Now that Blake isn’t here, I need some help.”

“Really?” LB was surprised.

“Only if you want too, of course.”

“Are you kidding? Of course I want, it’s just that I thought I would have to start from the bottom. Besides, Adam will be back soon. Don’t you think he’ll have something to say about it?”

“Adam is not a problem, but I guess I can find somebody else if you don’t want to.” Jeff teased him. He knew he wouldn’t say no.

“No, no way! I’ll take it!” LB jumped.

“I thought so.” Jeff smiled.

“Thanks, dad.” LB gave him five. “I’ll see you later.” He said, before he walked out the door.

Jeff sat back down in Blake’s chair and looked on the family pictures, focusing at Adam’s portrait.


Memorial Hospital, Jim’s room

“Knock, knock, can I come in?” Ashley walked into the room with a smile on her face.

“Hi, Ash!”

“Hey! How are you?” she gave him a kiss.

“I won’t die if that’s what you asking.” Jim said amused.

“Jim!”

“Just kidding, clam down. Take a chair and come over here.” He pointed to the chair at the corner. Ashley stepped aside, took the chair and sat next to Jim’s bed. “Oh, that’s better. So, tell me, what’s new?”

“Nothing special. I stopped at the mall to buy a dress for tonight.”

“Oh, the dinner at the Carrington’s,” he heard about that from Sammy Jo.

“Yes, it’s going to be some dinner. Krystle convinced Danny and me to pretend we are still together, for Blake’s sake. He still doesn’t know about LB and me.”

“Pretending …? Don’t you think it’s too dramatic?”

“Maybe. But Mr. Carrington wants the family to be reunited for Christmas. He is really happy that everybody will be there tonight. We can’t tell him that LB and I cheat on Danny. It would ruin his holiday.”

“And LB agreed to go along with that charade?” He had his doubts.

“He didn’t have any choice, actually. He stumbled with Danny this morning at the mansion and the two of them got into a fight.”

“Again?”

“Yes. Then Krystle came and gave them a lesson. She forced them both to accept her plan, for Blake and the family.”

“So all the family is going to be there?”

“Hmm… yes.”

“Well then, I guess it won’t be the only charade there.” He said.



“What do you mean?” Ashley didn’t understand.

“Steven and Sammy Jo of course, the perfect couple.” He said bitter.

“I’ll keep an eye on those two. I just feel sorry, because you won’t be with us.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. You go to the Carrington’s and have fun.”

“Are you sure? You don’t want me to stay here with you? It will solve many problems for LB and me. And we won’t have to lie to Blake.”
“No, no. You are going. I want a fully report later, especially about Sammy Jo and Steven. He already decided that he is the father of the babies.”

“I hope he’s not. I know how much you love and want Sammy Jo.”

“More than anything else. I want to propose to her at the time being. I just hope Steven won’t sabotage my plans. He is already living with her. I wished I could be with her tonight.” He was disappointed. Sammy Jo barely visited him at the hospital, and he knew that Steven would use that time to get closer to her. Ashley looked at him. He was sad.

“You will win Sammy Jo, Jim. You’ll see.” She tried to encourage him.


The Carrington Mansion - Fallon and Jeff’s room

Fallon brushed her hair, as Jeff put on his tie.

“I’m glad you came to terms with Amanda. Its high time we started to be a family.” Jeff said as he fumbled with his knot.

“Come here and let me do it.” Fallon said as he came closer. “I’m glad we buried the hatched so to speak.” She fixed his tie. “There, that looks good.”

“I knew there was one reason to keep you around.” He smiled.



She hit him in the ribs, and started tickling him. “Only one reason, Jeffery Colby?” They laughed and kissed.

“You look wonderful with that new haircut.“ He flattered her.

“Well thank you, Mr. Colby. You look not bad yourself.“ She smiled at him and kissed him back. „We are going to be some couple this evening.“

“Yes, I just feeling sorry that my family can’t be here with us.“

“I know. But you will see them tomorrow. Dex called while you were in the shower, they managed to catch a flight back.” She said.

“Good, they can be tested as well.“ He thought about Miles.

“Have the doctors come back with your results?” Fallon asked as she sat up.

“No I have to go back, it seems that they didn’t take enough the first time. I’ll go back with Monica.”

Fallon smiled. “It is sweet of you Jeff, but you probably won’t match, your only cousins.”

“I know, but I owe Miles a chance.” He said while putting on his shoes.

“Oh, did you see Lauren?” Fallon asked as she put on her black dress.

“No, but I guess she’s in her room. Honey, you’ll be freezing with that dress!“ Jeff said when he noticed the dress she was wearing.

“It’s hot inside the house. I’m very worried to her, Jeff.“ She said and Jeff picked up the phone and dialed. “Gerard, have you seen Lauren?“ He asked the multipurpose. “Are you sure about that? Okay, thank you.” He hung up. “Gerald says she wasn’t home since morning, when she left with that boy. And her cell phone is closed.”



“Oh Jeff, she’s driving me crazy. She doesn’t listen, she’s failing almost all of her classes, and she talks back to everyone. I just don’t know what to do with her anymore. Where could she be now? Look what time it is!“

“I’m sure she’s all right. Let’s get her phone book and make some calls.”


At the meantime, in the mountains

“Ricky, it’s too dangerous!” Lauren said worried when they broke into the cabin.

“Don’t be geek, Lauren. I’m coming here all the time. Nobody lives here. Trust me.” He said, still messing with the door’s lock.

“Just hurry, okay? I’m freezing here and look at the time, it’s so late, and my parents will kill me!” She said, all shaking. “Come on, Rick. It’s about to rain!” She added.

“Stop crying, Lauren. Here we are.” He said when the lock was opened. “Bingo!” He said, smiling when he opened the door and they entered inside the cabin.

“Thank god!” Lauren called. “Do they have a fire here?” She asked, looking around. “It’s so cold here.”

“Come here, babe. I have a better idea.” He led her to the couch and began kissing her on the lips.

“Stop that, Ricky. That’s why you brought me here?” She rejected him.

“Hey, don’t be so heavy, babe. We came here to forget the troubles at home, right? It’s so peaceful here, nobody will tell us what to do. You can trust me.”

“Still, it’s Christmas Eve. I have to be home.”

“Why? You hate to be there.”

“I don’t hate to be there. I just hate when my parents nagging me all the time. They’re driving me crazy with their nonsense, thinking I’m a little girl.”

“Aren’t you?” He teased her.

“Ricky!” She was angry and he laughed at her. “It’s not funny, you jerk!” She tickled him and he tickled her back. “Hey, stop that!” She yelled and laughed.

He smiled. “I have something good for you.”

“What?” She asked.

He pulled some grass from his pocket.

“What’s that?” She wasn’t sure. B
“Something good. I start taking it after my parents got divorce. It’s unbelievable what an amazing feeling you have after one smoke.”

“Smoke? Yak! I hate smoking!”

“Lighting up, babe. It’s cool.” He said and began smoking it. “See? It’s nothing like cigarettes.” He gave it to her. “Try it!”

“No, no.” She refused. “It’s a drug, Ricky!”

He laughed. “Oh don’t be so difficult, it’s not a drug. You will love it. Believe me.” He tried to convince her.

The Carrington Mansion

Lights and pieces of decoration where all over the first floor of the mansion. The stairs parapet was shining with the lights on and little Christmas trees were at the entrance to the mansion.

“Slow down, honey. You are still weak.” Krystle asked Blake when she helped him stepping downstairs.

“I’m fine, darling. I feel much better” He answered as the main door opened and Amanda stepped in, together with Cathy. They both looked beautiful and shiny. Amanda, wearing a silver-plated evening gown with a white jacket, and Cathy in a beautiful white and red dress.

“Grandpa!” Cathy ran over to Blake. The old man was happy to see her. Since he came back home from the hospital, he barely had the chance to see her. “Merry Christmas!” She said when the old man hugged and kissed her.

“Merry Christmas to you too, sweetheart. You look absolutely gorges, just like your mother!” He added and turned to Amanda, who kissed with Krystle.

“Merry Christmas, Krystle.”



“Merry Christmas.” Krystle answered. “You both look so wonderful.”

“Thank you.”

“Hey, what about me?” Blake joked. Amanda and Krystle laughed.



“Merry Christmas, daddy, How are you feeling?”

“Well, much better now, that I see you and Cathy.”

“I’m glad. You look good.” She flattered him.

“Well, thank you.” He smiled. “You’re coming from the hospital, I guess?”

“Yes, no change.”

“I’m sure he’ll be fine.” Blake tried to encourage her.
B “I hope so.” She forced a smile.

“Hey, Jo!” Cathy called when she noticed Joseph crossing by and she ran over to him.

Krystle, Blake and Amanda looked at them smiling and then turned to the main door when Ashley and Danny entered the house, together with Sammy Jo and Steven.

“Hello everybody, Merry Christmas!” Sammy Jo called smiling.



“Well, Merry Christmas. You look like a million dollar!” Blake said. They really looked great. Sammy Jo took off her coat and revealed her white gown; Steven and Danny were in a black tuxedo and Ashley in the beautiful black dress.

“Merry Christmas, Krystle.” Steven kissed Krystle, and they both looked at Danny and Ashley, who forced smiles on their faces when Blake approached them.

“Well, what a lovely couple you are!” Blake called with excitement, when he welcomed them.

“Merry Christmas, Mr. Carrington.” The girl greeted him.

“Blake, remember?” He smiled and she smiled back. “Danny, I’m so happy that you decide to make it after all. You two look just fabulous!” He announced just in time when LB stepped downstairs with Fallon and Jeff. Everybody looked at LB, hoping he wouldn’t say anything that would ruin the spirit.

“Well hello, Merry Christmas!” Blake noticed his older daughter and her family.

“Merry Christmas, daddy.” Fallon joined her father and kissed him. LB and Jeff greeted him as well.

“I just told Danny how happy I am, that he could come with his lovely girlfriend.” He smiled. Everybody besides Blake could feel the tension in the air. Jeff whispered something to Fallon and walked out. “I’m sure you’ll have a pretty girl just like her soon, LB.” Blake addressed his oldest grandson. Ashley looked at LB who looked back at her, frowned.

“I already have, grandpa.” The boy said suddenly and all those present held their breaths. “You are going to know her, very soon.” He added, looking at Danny and Ashley.

Sammy Jo looked at Krystle. She was worried things would get out of hand. “Where is Lauren?” Krystle asked in an attempt to change the subject and saved the situation.

“She will be here any minute.” Fallon replied. She knew that her stepmother was on Danny’s side. Jeff joined Fallon and handed her a glass of white zinfandel. “Did you call all of her friends?” She asked.

“Yes, no one has seen her since school yesterday.“ He said.

“This isn’t like her. Jeff, I’m worried.” Fallon took the drink. B
“When I find that girl I’ll strangle her.” Jeff said, as Lauren walked up behind him. BB “Hi everybody, Merry Christmas!“



“Lauren! Where have you been?” Fallon asked her.

“I was at a friend’s.“ She explained. “I’m sorry, I forgot about dinner.”

“Are you all right? You look sick.“ Krystle asked concerned, noticing the dark circles under her eyes. B
“I’m fine. Too much stress at the school, you know.” She lied. BB “Well, after dinner you and I are going to have a long talk.” Jeff stated. Fallon put her hand on his arm, stopping him from going on.

“Sure. Whatever, dad.” Lauren replied, bored.

“Now go upstairs and dressed up. Everybody is waiting for you.” Fallon ordered her and the girl went upstairs.

Steven looked around the room; the Christmas spirit was defiantly there. Laughter and chatter was heard all over. Even Danny seemed relaxed and enjoying himself. Joseph and Cathy were running around, laughing. Sammy Jo looked beautiful in her new gown. Fallon and Jeff were kissing under the mistletoe. Only Amanda was standing apart, starring out the window. He approached her.

“Perfect Christmas night, white snow and family gathering.” Steven stated.

“Yes, it is.” Amanda agreed.

“So what's wrong, sis?” Steven asked. B
“I shouldn't be here. Miles needs me.” She explained.

“Oh Amanda, he would want you to be here, with your loved ones, especially with Cathy. I'm sure he understands.”

“I know you're right but…” Amanda started.

“You want to be with him. I have an idea, after dinner take some leftovers and go to him. I'm sure there will be plenty.” Steven suggested.

“Oh Steven, what a wonderful idea, thank you.” Amanda hugged him, when Alexis entered, followed by two servants that carried the gifts.

Alexis handed her cape to a maid and approached the others. She wore a ravish black full length off-the shoulder dress. “Merry Christmas, everyone!”



Blake welcomed her. “Good evening, Alexis. Thank you for coming and Merry Christmas to you.”

“Thank you for the invitation, Blake.” Alexis returned. “Good evening, Krystle. The house is just beautifully decorated, and I’m sure this evening will be wonderful thanks to you.” She greeted her with exaggerated friendliness.

“Thank you, Alexis.” Krystle threw a polite smile at her, taking the compliment for what it was worth.

“We’re very sorry about Caress.” Blake expressed his condolences.

A slightly annoyed expression showed in Alexis’s eyes. She didn’t believe him. Caress had belonged to the Consortium and he had fought her as she had. But Alexis bit her tongue. She had promised Steven not to provoke a confrontation, and she would keep her word.

“Okay, I think everybody is here, right?“ Blake asked, when suddenly it occurred to him, that his youngest daughter was not there. “Where is Krystina?” He asked. Krystle didn’t answer. She prayed to god her daughter would change her mind, and show up for dinner.


Kyle’s Apartment

Christmas singing and people laughing was heard from the other apartments at the building Kyle and Krystina lived in. The only flat that wasn’t decorated was their flat. Krystina looked at the Christmas tree Kyle put in the living room and couldn’t stop thinking of her family. She remembered the Christmas trees they used to buy every year and decorate together; the family dinner; the singing. She missed all that. She loved Kyle very much, but she loved also her family.

“Krystina? You’re not ready?” Kyle asked when he walked in the salon. He was wearing the tuxedo Mr. Woo gave him few years ago. It was a little bit tiny, but it was the only one he had.

“I don’t feel like going anywhere.” Krystina sadly answered.

“Honey, I already made a reservation. It’s a good restaurant.” He tried to convince her, but deep inside he knew it wouldn’t work.

“I’m sorry, Kyle. I’m just not in the mood. Can you understand that?”

“You want to be with your family, don’t you?”

“Yes, but not without you.” She answered.

“I’m sure they are waiting for you. I’m sure your father wonders where you are right now, and that your mother is trying to find a good excuse.”

“They should have thought about that before …“ She started to say. B
“I want you to go, Krystina.” He cut her off.

“No. I’m staying here with you.”

“No, Krystina. Go dressed. You are going to have dinner with your family.” He announced.


Billings, Montana

Adam took two glasses and began pouring champagne into the glasses; he walked over to a fire place feeling the warmth. He sat down on a pillow next to the blonde woman. .

“Thank you.” She said as she took the glass.

“I think this is the best Christmas I’ve had in a long time.” he said.

“I think my Christmas wish came true this year, because you came back into my life.” She smiled. As the couple kissed, snow outside began to fall. On the radio, an announcer began a weather report:

“Billing’s Montana is feeling the affects of a massive cold front, snow is six inches deep in most areas, and all airports are closed”

“I love you Dana Warring.” Adam said as they kissed.

“I love you to Adam Carrington.” Dana said and kissed him back.





The Carrington Mansion

Blake stood up and looked at his family. Besides Adam, they were all there. Fallon sat next to Jeff with LB and Lauren who looked unhappy; Steven and Sammy Jo sat in front of them with Ashley and Danny that tried to pretend like they were a happy couple, and Amanda sat next to Cathy and Joseph, who was sad to be alone, without his parents. He missed Kirby so much and needed her. He hated the idea that his father was spending Christmas without him, somewhere in Montana, with another woman. Alexis, who sat next to him, caressed his hair and tried to encourage him. Blake looked at Krystle. They exchanged smiles. Blake took his glass of wine and stood up.

“Everybody, please. I would like to make a toast.” Blake announced and everybody stopped their conversations and turned to look at him. “The last year was not easy for this family. We went through horrible moments and lost our precious Kirby.” He paused and looked at Joseph, before he continued. “But in her death, Kirby brought us together. And a unity is stronger than a single individual. Together we will accomplish everything. TO THE FAMILY AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!”



“Merry Christmas!” Everybody called. “Cheers!” They said happy and clicked their glasses.


Denver Police Department

The police department stood under pressure, because they still had no arrest in the Morel-Powers-case. After a renewed search at Caress’s penthouse they had finally found the gun. Ballistic tests had showed that it was indeed the gun that was used to shoot at Zach Powers. But unfortunately the weapon was not registered. Now the question was, whose fingerprints were on it?

Sgt. Craig Harper had just finished questioning Kenneth Maher, Caress’s former lawyer, when his partner entered the office with the report of the laboratory test in his hand. “Okay, Mr. Maher. The district attorney’s office will get in touch with you.” Harper dismissed the witness.

He waited until Caress’s lawyer had left the room. “What did the forensic squad find? Whose fingerprints are it?” He inquired.

“There are none.” Sgt. Frank Lewis replied disappointed. “The gun was cleaned.”

“Damn it!” Harper shouted. “But maybe we can do the arrest without fingerprints.” He said, standing up. “Here read this!” He asked Lewis, handing him the signed testimony of Kenneth Maher.

“That must not mean anything.” He objected.

“Sure it does. Now we have the last piece of the puzzle – the motive to kill Zach Powers.” Harper explained. “So what are we waiting for?” He added impatiently.

“Craig, I think you’re too fast. Besides, it’s Christmas.” Lewis reminded him.

“So what?” His younger partner replied. “I have nobody who is waiting at home for me, and so have you.”

Outside the Carrington mansion

It started to snow only a few minutes after Patricia had parked her car in front of the mansion. She had finally come to the decision, that she had to see Blake and hoped that he wouldn’t get upset. The way she had left Denver must have given Blake a hard time. She hadn’t even said goodbye to him. But now, while she was sitting in her car, looking at herself in the mirror she remembered again what Blake had once told her so many times. “Whatever happens, Patricia. I will always be there for you, you understand? Always!“ When Blake had said that he had looked her deep in the eyes and Patricia knew that he meant it.

She gave a last glance at the mirror. Blonde hair really fit her. She was glad that the employee at the beauty parlor couldn’t talk her out of it.

Patricia got out of the car, took the present she had brought for Blake and started for the door. As she was about to ring the bell she suddenly heard voices and the sound of a piano coming from inside. She heard the Carringtons singing.

Patricia sighed. Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to come after all, she thought. Then she spotted a little path that was going around the house.

Nobody of the family noticed that a woman was standing outside in the garden, glancing at them. Patricia hid behind a tree and tried hard to get a glance at Blake. The wind was getting colder and the snow whirled around her face. Her heart started bumping faster when she saw, that Blake Carrington came into the room and everyone was gathering around him. They all seemed happy and comfortable. They all were, except for Patricia who was crying now.



At the same time, Jim and Miles were lying in their hospital beds in Denver Memorial. They weren’t alone, but very lonely. Many miles away from Denver, Dana was holding mistletoe over her and Adam’s heads while they were holding and kissing each other happily. Over the Atlantic, Sable, Dex, Monica, and Cameron were sitting in an American Airlines Boeing on their way home to Denver.

Patricia’s heart had sunken. She didn’t see any reason anymore why she should visit Blake now. He has his family around him. I’m certainly the last person he wants to see, she thought bitterly. She put the present in front of the door and didn’t look back once, as she got in her car and drove away.

Back inside, Fallon played the piano. Cathy and Joseph sat next to her, watching her fingers. Blake joined them, took them both on his knees and began singing with them. Krystle looked at him, sitting with his youngest grandchildren, and smiled. She was glad to see him so happy, with so much joy. She was not the only one who noticed his happiness. Sammy Jo was standing next to her, smiling as well. They exchanged looks and then joined the old man, singing. Jeff stood aside with Amanda and looked at Blake, hoping this harmony would last forever. Danny and Ashley sat next to Lauren and tried to encourage her. She was still afraid of the punishment she certainly was going to get. LB watched them and couldn’t help but wondering if it had been wrong to break them apart. He used the moment and went out to take some fresh air. At the same time, Krystina left the room as well and went outside. When Kyle noticed her he got out of the car and ran over to her. They kissed passionately, ignoring the snowflakes that covered their hair and clothes. They didn’t pay any attention to the police cars that arrived.


Inside the mansion

Gerard entered the room and approached Alexis, who was talking with Steven and Amanda. “Excuse me, Mrs. Colby. Two police detectives are here to see you.” He informed her.

Alexis felt uneasy. “Thank you, Gerard.” She replied quickly. Steven and she looked at each other, concerned. What did the police want from her?

“It must be important.” Amanda remarked.

“I’m sure whatever they want it could have waited till tomorrow morning.” Alexis tried to play it down. “I’ll be right back.” She said, starting to leave the room.

“I’m coming with you.” Steven said, following her.

Sgt. Lewis and Sgt. Harper, who had two police officers in uniform with them, were waiting in the hallway near the entrance. Alexis look became icy as she spotted them.

“Mrs. Colby, I’m sorry to disturb you and your family, but ...” Lewis started to explain.

Alexis interrupted him. “Sergeant, I’m beginning to get tired of you bothering me with the same questions over and over again. That has to stop.” She said, looking straight into his face. Her anger was obvious.

“We only do our job, mam. And you are not very cooperative.” Harper stated coolly.

Alexis darted her eyes to him. This arrogant young man seemed to forget to whom he was talking. “Listen, I want you to take your men and leave this house.” She demanded. “I’m not going to answer any of your questions tonight. If you want to talk to me, make an appointment with my secretary tomorrow morning.”

“I’m sorry, but that’s no option.” Lewis objected. “You were at your sister’s apartment when she and Mrs. Powers were attacked.”

“I told you already, that my sister wasn’t attacked, but she committed suicide.” Alexis reminded him annoyed.

“We believe otherwise.” Harper replied, before his partner continued. “We know you were at the scene of the crime. Plus, you’re the only one who profits from Mrs. Morel’s death.”

Alexis shook her head in frustration and suddenly realization hit her. “You don’t accuse me of murdering my sister, do you?”

“Well, did you?” Harper asked bluntly.

“No, of course I did NOT.” Alexis almost shouted.

Steven interfered. “Your accusations are ridiculous. Why should she kill her? We didn’t even know about my aunt’s will.”

“That’s what you say, but it’s Mr. Maher’s word against yours. Mrs. Morel’s lawyer told us that you knew about the will, and that his client informed you about her intention to change her will in favor of Mr. Zachary Powers.”

“What?!” Steven asked in disbelieve.

“That’s a damn lie!” Alexis protested. What was going on here? Alexis was confused and worried. B
“You and Mrs. Morel have a history of animosity and isn’t it true, that you threatened Mr. Powers on the day before he got shot?” Lewis asked.

“No, that’s not true.” Alexis defended herself.

“According to witnesses, there was a fight between you and Mr. Powers at the Carlton. What was it about? Mrs. Morel’s will?” Harper required, studying her eyes.

“I told you already that I didn’t know my sister’s will, as well as her supposed intention to change it.” Alexis said again, this time more insistent.

“But you admit that you had a confrontation with Mr. Powers that day? If it wasn’t about your sister’s will, what was it about?” Harper didn’t let up on the matter.

“It was a harmless argument about a business disagreement, nothing more.” Alexis lied, trying to explain the situation.

Lewis and Harper exchanged glances. Alexis Colby’s attempts to clear herself didn’t match with the testimonies of the witnesses. Her statements made her look even guiltier. She had the opportunity and a motive to kill her sister and her former lover.

“Mrs. Colby, you are under arrest for the murder of Cassandra Morel Fincini and the attempted murder of Zachary Powers. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to have an attorney present. If you cannot afford one, the court will appoint one for you ...” Lewis read Alexis her right, while he handcuffed her.

Alexis couldn't believe it. She felt like in a nightmare. She looked at Steven with shock, having a feeling of dejavu as she remembered her arrest in the Marc Jennings case, after her ex-lover and ex-bodyguard had been pushed from the terrace of her penthouse. It had been so many years ago, but suddenly the pictures were fresh in her mind. “Oh god, Steven do something.” She gasped. “I didn’t do it.”



Steven was taken aback. They suspected she murdered Caress and Zach. His heart raced with fear because he didn’t know if she was going to be able to clear herself. “I’ll call Gerald Wilson and we’ll take care of the bail immediately.” He said.

Alexis appeared ready to collapse. Steven felt helplessly. “Wait a minute, are the handcuffs really necessary?” Steven asked.



“I’m sorry, we have to do that.” Lewis said, having a strange feeling of sympathy for the woman he just arrested. Alexis Colby was very different than the suspects he usually had to deal with, especially tonight with this breathtaking dress.

“Take them off, Frank.” Harper suddenly said.

“But Craig ...” Lewis looked at his younger partner, wondering. Harper never showed mercy. He always was tough and always went with the rules.

“It’s alright. I take the responsibility.” Harper replied.

Steven was relieved as Lewis removed the handcuffs. “Thank you.” He said, looking at Harper and for a long second their eyes locked.

“We get you out as soon as possible.” Steven assured his mother as the two uniformed officers lead Alexis away, as we FADE OUT…
