Hayama...Hayama Akito. The blunt reason to love Kodocha. There is just something about him, isn't there? The perpetual glare, the uncontested strength, the pale elusiveness, he is the epitome of 'mysterious and silent' types. I couldn't help but wonder though, just what makes Hayama so much different (and better, hahaha) than the usual, seemingly...catagorized omae o korosu personality? ^_^ This is where I ramble on the why.
Heehee, you knew that was coming didn't you? Meet Heero Yuy, Gundam Pilot 01 from the ever popular anime Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. Heero is known for being apathetic, suicidal, and inhumanly potent. Given any mission, he would most likely accomplish it flawlessly. So how can Akito surpass the perfect soldier? E-a-s-y. Heero, while a contemplative character in his own right, is about the flattest, most robotic, sadly sadistic guy out of GW. Hey, I feel for him. I've read zero, but it still doesn't change anything. A glance at Heero churns the heart. He is perfection. The bone crackin', computer hackin', mecha drivin' perfection that leaves no trace of doubt. Oh, did I mention he's hot? ^^; Heero is everything a wistful guy would like to be. He is an impossiblity. 'Nuff said.
The main similarity of these two is their off communication button. But while Heero wore a shatterproof glass, Hayama has more of a clay mask, dented little by little thanks to Sana. I know some people may actually appreciate shatterproof glass, but if you had to talk to them, you wouldn't. Also, Heero has no desire to communicate. His reason to live is for missions. People come somewhere behind his computer and extra spandex. Lol. The kicker similarity around these two is that they are both suicidal. Quite amusing though, as Heero tends to take the *smirk* I'm going to go with a 'boom'! Hayama is actually serious, and have a somewhat rational reason. But then, Hayama also has 'character developement', and realizes that life just may be all right. Heero is the same monotoned guy who will never change. Hayama is real. Heero is not. End of statement. ^__^  Ninmu kanryo.
Hmm, well, the comparisons are endless here now huh? Both a little rude, a little arrogant, a little taciturn, the same age and, oh yeah! A little too much trouble telling the truth to whoever they like, and thus filling mindless episodes all through!! >_< Baka... lol. Syaoran, or Li (for the dubbies) from Cardcaptor Sakura is known for his um...Sakura's conflicted enemy/friend. In many respects, he is much like Hayama. They are both ambivalent idiots who can never make up their mind but pretend they have everything under control. Although,  we're here to talk about why Hayama is better (and we all know he's much much better than Syaoran :) Sure, Hayama has problems conveying his feelings
verbally, but at least he's not like Syaoran, who has major issues in communicating both verbally and physically. The guy blushes every second for the God's sake! Hayama at least acts bluntly, putting moves on Sana so smoothly. ^^x The boy knows what's he's doing, and even if he is entirely clueless sometimes, Hayama carries an air of maturity. Syaoran on the other hand, is no more than an insolent little boy who believe no one can do anything better than him, gets jealous way too easily and is...well, a little boy. ^^ His maturity level cannot even rank with Hayama's. That, and of course, S+S is gosh darn the most frustrating couple I've ever seen in my life! Pathetic-ness! ^^v!
Tokiya-sama from Flame of Recca is another Hayama-act-alike (or is it the other way around?) Both are silent, strong, and too stylin' for their own good. Both are calm, loners, infinitely correct and tend to dislike cheerful idiots. The only difference to pop up in mind is probably the age difference and the hair. Lol. So how is Hayama better than this one? Er...um..he's...better looking? ^^;; Okay, besides physical traits, one will notice that Hayama is less disciplined in terms of human relationships. Toki-san's single goal in life is to to avenge his sister / protect sister look alike. The singleminded-ness is his ultimate turn off. Hayama can shed his mask and admit (to himself) that he does really like Kurata.
Tokiya lives his life as if in a shadow, trapping himself in the past. He is another one of those characters that is admired incessantly, but can never be.
