Name: Iris C. or if you know me...well, you know me! ^_~
Age: 15/16
Height: 5'9 (yes, I know I'm tall.)
Weight: 135 lbs - of course, I haven't weighed myself in a while. I'm not a weight conscious person. You wouldn't either if you love tofu. ^____^
Ethnicity: Chinese - came to USA when I was 10. Can speak both languages accent-less. Is very much a patriot. Firmly believes that Chinese is the most beautiful language in the world.
Location: USA - while I love China too much. I do think USA is a great country overall, so many different people and different opinions. Yes. I love all the people in the world.
Religion: Deist and Pantheist. I absolutely cannot hold a conversation with any extreme religion fanatics. I don't even want to go there.
Loves the color: yellow, clear, silver, and sky blue.
Eats: lots and lots of TOFU! Lotsa of seafood - seaweed, squid, eels, crabs, fish. Name something from the sea, and I probably have ate it. I probably have at it raw too... hahaha.
Musical Artist: I worship Wong Faye (Wang Fei). She is a genius. Her music is so flimsy and yet so powerful in its melodic way. I also love her lyrics. They are incredible. Faye's definitely my fave.
Tori Amos is another great artist. Powerful lyrics, beautiful songs, one minute scary, one minute sedate, she is simply amazing.
Bands: Linkin Park, while I know everyone likes them now. I still have to say they are a great band. Their music is so original, mixed with all the genres of music. I'm a music freak. I love it when people mix it up and do it well. LP's music is angry, raw, yet purposeful in its own way. They very much represent our generation. Secret Garden, I've always found Ireland alluring because of the music. Celtic music is great, and I'm a big fan of New Age music (and many others) Secret Garden is one of the best New Age groups out there. Gotta love the violin... Goo Goo Dolls - what to say? They wrote a song in my honor. Lol.
Operas: Yep, I do like operas. As I've said. I've a music freak. I don't limit myself at all (well, I don't listen to country...that's true... ^^;;) My favorite opera is definitely Puccini's 'Turandot'. Mostly because I love Nessun Dorma.
Books: Dream of the Red Chamber (Cao Xue Qin) Into the Wild (Jon Krauker), Into Thin Air (Jon Krauker), Dangerous Angels (Francesa Lia Block), The Three Musketeers (Dumas), Death can't claim (Shu En Pei)
Authors: Alexander Dumas, Jack London (dont' like his novels, love his style)
Sports: x-rollerblading, bicycling (ANTI-cars!) volleyball, running (but I hate track where you run in circles. Not a very competitive person) I also liked swimming, until I joined the swim team, hahaha.
Athlete: not big on Mia Hamm, Bob Burnquist is the maN!
TV Shows: Crossfire (CNN), and anything by Nova(PBS), X-games (ESPN2) MTV's good too. I also enjoy the news.
Anime shows: here's a big topic! My favs. are, of course, Kodomo No Omocha - 'soooo funny, yet soooo touching, and soooo need to be more popular'. Cowboy Bebop - 'the best anime series made EVER' is right up there though. I also a rabid fan of Angel Santuary - stunning art, morbid yet thought provoking plot, what more do you need? ^_^ Kaori Yuki is the Goddess. Great Teacher Onizuka - I mainly adore the drama. Takashi Sorimachi is very very cool...just like Onizuka sensei! Gundam Wing - for the same reasons why you like it and Fei-baby and Du-chan and the plotting. Flame of Recca - Recca-nii-san kakkoii desu! Slayers - Lina-san kakkoii desu!! lol.
Hated Anime shows: Yeah. I love a lot of things, therefore, I hate a lot of things too. Fushigi Yuugi - I use to be able to stand this show. But I no longer can. It's hella annoying and predicatable, and I would kill at least half of the characters. Marmalade Boy - can a show get ANY MORE pointless than this? I think not. What a stupid show. Card Captor Sakura - I know this is strange, since I wrote two fics based on this series, but I really do loathe this. It's utterly unrealistic and pointless, and Sakura and Syaoran are idiots. Actually, if I can rant more, I may be the only one (and Akuma ^_^) to dislike CLAMP. Well, I don't care. I hate their style. Their lovely details are obliterated by their weird eyes and proportion. Their plotting is unreal and odd and RG Veda is friggin' weird. (gomen ne, Akuma) Yeah yeah, waste your time and send your hate mails. >_< Neon Genesis Evangelion - *_* I'm really asking for hatemail huh? Teehee. Let me explain. Now, I do understand the the 'greatness' of this show. It is very profound, deep, and mind-warping. I can also identify with many of the characters including Shinji (in fact, I think Shinji is one of the most realistic anime characters ever) and even Gendou. It's not a bad show at all, but I still hate it. I hate NGE because of it's passion-less. It's so bleak, and people often exaggerate and blow it up to something so magnificent. It's not. it's cynical, and leaves an after taste that humanity will never provail. I don't know. I don't like unanswered pessimistic shows.
