The Southwest Canyonlands
...Home of the Four Corners, the Four Sacred Mountains,
....and an awful lot of sage...
Lukachukai
I spent only a month in Arizona as part of my Winter term course at Pacific. But working in a boarding school in the town of Lukachukai and  chopping wood for elders in the Navajo community was a sort of learning experience that I think shall never be rivaled in my memory.
Say it with me now.. "loo-ka-choo-ky"
That would be Navajo.
Three weeks living on the Navajo Reservation gives you some interesting perspectives, even if one is a butt...
Canyon de Chelly
National Monument
Oh the two L's are confusing
But watch just how you say
For I know it looks like "Shelly"
But the canyon's called "de-SHAY!"
Mesa Verde and Arches
National Parks
Green Table and, well, Arches. Got creative with our names did we. That's okay, the jaw-dropping beauty of these places makes it worth while.
