Douglas Adams once wrote of the strongest drink in the universe, the pan galactic gargle blaster. He said the effect of drinking them was like having your brain smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped around a gold brick. The same could be said of murfreesboro tennessee's Pray for Mojo.

"With the majority of the local scene being hardcore bands,I think the audience finds it refreshing to hear intelligent music that still rocks"says guitarist/vocalist Joey Mears."we combine the intensity of a jazz trio with the music we love and this is what happens"

The styles represented are as diverse as the people representing them. The drummer Glenn Randolph grew up on the sounds of grunge and metal. His love of the
Sex Pistols soon transformed him into a punk/ska fanatic. The speed and force are represented in his corner.

The solid rock of the group is Eric Oaks, the bass player. With influences like Coltrain,
the dead, Waters and Cassidy his cadence is surpassed only by his direction. He seamlessly slides between styles much like a seamless style slider.(say that 5 times fast). His basslines instill a timeless quality to PFM'S
music.

The front man is a very traditional ideal in the entertainment bussiness.Although not a traditional band, the ringleader of the mojo clan is Joey Mears, guitarist and lead vocalist. His shit talking technique is enough to keep an ADD victim on the edge of their seat.Influences in this corner include
Frank Zappa, J Mascis, old school rap, and the avante guard.

In closing if you like originality, then you will love Pray for Mojo.If you like the same old clap trap,
then turn on the radio!
