FA went badly for Houston. Matsui went up to
almost 20 mil and the bid on Dotel was 8.1 mil
however we acquired Richie Sexson to hopefully
replace some of the HR and RBI we lost with
Matsui.

Recently Acquired Tomo Ohka and Milton Bradley,
along with another Amateur in return for 2 pitchers
and Adrian Gonzalez

2004

Houston picks up Wade Miller, but loses Adam Eaton
who is set to have a good year. In Return, Texas gets
Eaton as well as Kris Benson. The Astros also pick up
Jaret Wright.

The Astros add a starting catcher- Miguel Olivio
of the Chicago White Sox- from the Phillies for
prospects.

Houston adds Chris Rietsma and Tomo Okha
and trades Jaret Wright and Brad Ausmus to
Arizona. Reitsma should add some holds to our
roster, and he is cheap as well.

In a flurry of trades with LA, Houston acquires a
monthly pick (who turned into Rafael
Betancourt) for Ray Durham, and in an
unrelated trade acquires prospect David Bush,
LA's July Monthly pick for JD Drew.

In a shocking trade, Houston moves former
cornerstone Derek Lee for Jason Giambi. Also
involved in the deal is Free Agent Pat Hentgen
and Tim Wakefield along with giving up a
monthly for 5.5 million, which will help our cap
situation. There is also a clause on Giambi, if he
goes on the 15-day DL twice or 60-day DL once,
then he is returned to the Cubs for Derek Lee.
