"Man...I'm seriously not liking this!" Allen groaned as they broke into the weapons building from the back. The building was still being used, so they had a chance of getting caught.
"Shut up!" Chrissy cried silently, "I didn't want to come here from the beginning! You three made me!"
"Both of you shut up before we get caught, dammit!" Francisco said.
"When is the Aaron concert?" Danny asked.
"It's...er...tomorrow night," Francisco said. Allen looked at him.
"We have one fuckin night to get ready to fight these things?!" Allen roared.
"Quiet down dammit!" Danny said as he kicked the door open, and they all walked inside. They figured they had to get the weapons in order to get inside the apartment building.
"Ok, Francisco. You get axes. Allen. Get some crossbows and some metal stakes. Chrissy, I need you to get the flashlights and lockpicks they have in the area. I'm getting the swords." They all nodded, and walked away from each other. Allen went behind the desk and looked around. The cash register was so inviting!
"Take only the weapons! You break the glass the alarm goes off," Chrissy said.
"Right," Francisco agreed. He walked over to the glass, and stood. Danny walked next to him, on the next shelf were the swords were. There were about 10 swords there. He would be able to take all of them. They had a few duffle bags outside. And the beauty was that the apartment was right across the street.
Allen stood by the cash register. Under it the crossbows were sprawled for decorations, with 10 packs that contained 10 metal stakes each laid next to them. Chrissy was walking about the room, and finally she came up to the flashlights and the lock picks. She nodded to them. And all at once, they kicked the glass. The glass shattered and an alarm went blaring. They quickly grabbed the objects of their objectives and ran outside one at a time, loading each duffle bag. Francisco had gotten a total of 8 axes, Chrissy had gotten 20 flashlights and 2 lockpicks. Allen had gotten only one crossbow, but plenty of spare packs of metal stakes. They were hidden in a cupboard underneath the crossbow. And Danny had 8 swords. But he knew he could carry the last two. So he ran back inside.
"Danny! Hurry up! The police are on their way!" Francisco yelled.
"You guys go ahead! Up the fire escape to the highest window! Chrissy, show them how to open the window! If all else fails, break it! I'm gonna get the last two swords." Danny explained.
"There's a cart over there!" Allen pointed down the alley. A cart was standing next to a dumpster. They all ran over to it, all except Francisco.
"Sure you'll be ok?" he asked Danny.
"I'll be fine! I'll find you guys!" Danny said assuringly. Francisco still wasn't sure.
"You're wasting time! Get going!" Danny said as he ran to the rack and took the two Samurai swords that were advertised for $400 each. As soon as he took the one off, a tseer came from behind him. His ninja senses told him to duck. And he did so. When he looked back up, an arrow was stuck in the wall just where he had been standing.
"Damn...smooth move!" Danny said as he took the last Samurai sword. He jumped out of the way of another arrow, and followed the path it came from. A cross bow was strapped to the ceiling. He ripped it down, grabbed a quill of arrows, and ran out of the store, just as the police pulled up outside. He closed the back door so nobody would know they got in from the back unless they checked. He tore down the alley, catching sight of Allen giving Francisco the last duffle bag out of the cart as he climbed up the ladder up to the fire escape. Francisco gave it to Chrissy, who tossed it in the window. Then she climbed in herself.
Danny sprinted over to the window as fast as he could. He could see the red and blue lights from behind him stretched on the walls. As he arrived at the apartment building, he yelled up to them
"HEY! Allen!" he said as quiet as he could. Allen looked down at him. He grinned and climbed down the ladder. Francisco stopped crawling into the window and waited. Allen took Danny's duffle bag and handed it up to Francisco.
"HURRY!" Danny urged. Francisco tossed it in the window. Danny handed Allen one of the Samurai swords. Allen examined it a second before handing it over to Francisco. Francisco tossed it inside.
"WATCH IT!" Chrissy's voice whispered. Sisco chuckled and climbed into the window. Allen climbed up the ladder and into the window. Danny grabbed the cart and pushed it as hard as he could down the alley. The puddles of water made it go even farther, and it went far down the alley. Danny climbed up the dumpster, holding the crossbow and the other Samurai sword, then up the ladder, and into the window.
"Shut the window!" Francisco groaned as the sirens picked up. Danny slowly gazed out the window and saw cop cars blazing down the alley. Danny quickly pulled his head in and slammed the window shut. He jogged away from the window, into the darkness of the apartment room. It was nicely kept.
"Why did you guys come in here?" Danny asked.
"Chrissy," Allen said, "She said she saw a note on the cupboard that said ‘I'll be gone until next Saturday.' And since Saturday isn't for another 5 days, we figured it was safe."
"If there was a note left, don't you think it was left for SOMEBODY?" Danny whispered. Chrissy looked up.
"Oh...oh yeah...well...no one's here..." Chrissy said.
"What makes you say that?" Danny asked.
"Because we made a lot of noise coming in here. They would have woken up and checked up on what was going on," Francisco said.
"NO! Everybody! Grab your bags! We gotta get outta here!" Allen said suddenly.
"Exactly!" Danny said, "They called the police! That's why they were coming down the alley!" Chrissy smacked her forehead. Each of them quickly grabbed their duffle bags. Before they could walk out of the apartment, a man came from the next room. He held a shotgun in his hand.
"You're not going no where!" he said in a panicked voice.
"Look, mister, we have to go! We got important business to do!" Chrissy told him. It was dark. They couldn't see his face, so he couldn't see theirs.
"No! You're going to jail!" the main said.
"Look, mister-," Danny said. He lifted his hands into the air to show emphasis, but the crossbow went off and shot the man in the throat with an arrow. He fell, and a shot left the shotgun. The shot went into the ceiling, and left the room.
"DA-," Allen started.
"Don't say it! He can't know our names! If he lives! It was an accident! But let's go! Downstairs and find a new apartment!" Danny said. He ran to the door, opened it, and ran out. He ran into the staircase, and tore up the stairs.
"Didn't you say downstairs?" Chrissy asked.
"It was a gimmick for the man. So he'd think we'd left," Francisco said as he followed Danny upstairs.
"This is horrible! I'm going to be scarred for life!" Allen groaned.
