Nicky watched her chest rise and fall slowly. Blond curls framed her sleeping face accentuating her beautiful facial features. Long dark eyelashes flickered softly against her high cheekbones. A small pink blush speckled her smooth cheeks and he felt his dark eyes being drawn to her alluring lips. His gaze travelled on further down her body. The loose thin hospital night shirt hid her smooth curves, hiding the beauty of the body he had become so familiar with over the past two years. Her mesmerising lips curved into a cute smile as sweet dreams of the both of them continued to play through her mind. He felt his heartbeat increase as reality hit him once again. They hadn't got much longer left together. When he had first saw the blond goddess sleeping in front of him, he had instantly known she was the one. Being only nineteen years of age and only at the start of his musical career, he had realised that she was the girl that he wanted to marry. Now aged twenty one, two years later, it was nothing but a mere dream now. The continuous bleeping from her heart monitor reminded him painfully that once the bleeping stopped, so would her life. Perfect in every way imaginable is what Nicky described to anyone who asked him what she was like. The fact that their time together had been cut short so cruelly by this hit and run accident, pulled at the strings holding together his fragile heart. She was his everything and more.

His chest tightened as he saw her deep dark blue eyes open. The colour of them matched his exactly. She blinked slowly at him, studying him, taking in everything possible about him. She felt her blue eyes begin to fill slowly up with unshed tears. Despite not having been told anything, the heart rendering secret that Nicky's eye's held, told her all she needed to know. She bit fiercely down onto her lip as lonesome tears slid painfully slowly down her cheek. She heard the scrape of a metal chair and closed her eyes as his warm hand placed itself on her trembling face. Sparks flew from his magnetic touch and she felt a hot tingling sensation flow through her dying body. She hated him seeing her like this. It didn't feel right, it wasn't right. She had always been the one strong person in Nicky's life, he knew he could rely on her at all times, and now she was taking this away from him. They had so many plans for the future that had once seemed so near but was now an eternity away. She felt herself drowning in his light but amazing touch. Her and Nicky were meant to be spending forever together. This wasn't fair.

The silence of the room remained desolate as similar thoughts flew through both of their upset minds. Using all of her strength, she managed to lift up her hand as her eyelids flickered open once again. Nicky stared straight into the dark mysterious pools that were her eyes. The window to her soul, the soul he knew everything it contained. It tore him apart to see her suffering so much. As selfish as it might sound, he still wished he could keep her here. With him, completing him as she always had.
"Don't cry," he whispered hoarsely as he felt watery tears spilling over his long eyelashes.
She muffled a sob as her face began to screw tightly in searing pain accompanied with a sharp ache deep within her heart. His voice was as sexy and as husky as ever, mixed with raw emotion. Love flowed through his eyes as they clung to each other hand in hand. It was taking all of his courage not to break down and let everything erupt inside of him. His heart was pounding as his body gradually became numb. Moving nearer, he managed a tearful smile at the one true love of his life as his thumb gently brushed away her falling tears. He licked away his salty tears from his lips as he moved nearer to her wanting to pull her into his lean arms for their last hug together.
"Nicky," she sobbed as her hands clung to the collar of his black leather jacket. "Don't let me go."
He closed his eyes in sheer pain at her words. He wanted to hold her forever, stroke back her blond hair away from her face and assure her that everything was going to be all right. Just like she had done to him many a time before. Words of their song came to his devastated mind as he gently moved to lie down next to her on the flat hospital bed. The room was in darkness apart from a dull lamplight that showed literally the only sign of life. Trying to control his breathing, he inhaled the intoxicating scent of his girlfriend, knowing it would be for the last time. He didn't want to forget the way she smelt. Nor the way her smile lit up any room even in the worst situations. He didn't want to forget the way she slept so peacefully at night when they lay securely in each other's arms, or the way she made his body react to her briefest caress. He didn't want to forget anything about her, because she was his entire life, despite their short two years that they thought would last a lifetime together.

He felt her small body trembling wildly beneath his loving grasp. Holding her close, he nestled his head into her head of blond curls, not wanting to let her see the pain he was experiencing. It felt as if everything that had meant something in his life, like his musical career with the rest of the band, the money, their own house together, his entire family along with all of his friends amounted into nothing. He was nothing without her. She was what gave him the strength and inspiration to carry on when things got too much for him to handle. It was impossible to imagine life without her. All the time he questioned how he had coped without her in his life before. The question had never found an answer. Both of them were meant to be, it was undeniable. Together forever was their saying.

Lifting her face towards the man lying next to her, she felt her pulse multiply as she looked solidly into the windows to his loving heart. His eyes told her so much, his physical reactions with her proved them. Gulping softly, taking a shallow breath, she continued to stare into his blue eyes as her fingers found their way to the gold imprinted bracelet she had made for him on their first official anniversary. The simple inscription reminded him every time of how she felt about him. She had wanted to take things slowly at first, get used to the fact he was becoming an over night superstar. Nicky was only glad, for when they had spent their first night together, it had been worth the entire wait and more. As he leant forward, he felt her sweet breath tickle his lips, causing his cheeky face to break into a sad smile.
"I love you," he murmured as he let his lips graze gently over hers, sending waves of deep emotion soaring straight through both of them.
As fresh tears filled her eyes, she rubbed her fingers over his bracelet, reminding him of her promise to him.
"I love you too Nicky," she replied before breaking down and sobbing hysterically into his smooth chest, soaking his white T-shirt with tears.
He felt his heart break in two. There was no denial in the fact he couldn't love her. It was obvious to everyone, even all of his fans who were nothing more than happy for both of them. He stroked her hair away from her face as he let her release all of her fears. She really did make loving her so easy for him.

His fingers slid under her tear stained chin, beckoning her to meet his gaze in the darkness of the room. She held his stare, captivated by the beauty of his stunning face. She studied everything about him. His blond spiky hair, the way in which his lips always curved slightly to the left whenever his face broke into his naughty little smile. The Byrne Smirk as it had become known. She looked at his sensual lips, from which words that often left her breathless with love had been revealed. Her dark eyes travelled wearily down his body, noting the way his toned chest rose and fell in time with her own. The way in which he rose largely towards the crotch of his jeans. Something that had finally united them as one, one who were meant to be together for lifetime and more. The way his blue denim jeans hugged his muscular footballers legs. Every single little thing about him. Most of all she loved his voice. Husky and dripping with sexiness, it never tired to amaze her. She licked her lips as she glanced towards him, asking him a question he already knew the answer too. Opening his mouth slightly, parting his dry lips, he leaned forward and ever so lightly brushed her lips with his own. Her body still reacted the way it always did. A surge of desire ripped through her as his fingers caressed the sensual curve of her neck. She widened her mouth, allowing him all the access he wanted. Her body felt weaker as the seconds ticked by. His hot tongue caressed hers lovingly, probing and tasting everything she had to offer, as if it was their first kiss all over again. Smiling gently against his lips, he moved away as she slid her slim arm around the back of his hot neck, nestling her head into the crook of his arm. The deserted hospital room filled with the gentle husky sound of his voice. She breathed deeply, enjoying his masculine scent as a shy smile formed on her lips.

As he continued to sing, Nicky closed his eyes listening to the slowing of her breathing. Fighting back tears, he knew this was the end. Giving it his all, he opened his eyes and stared into hers for the last time. Before continuing he stroked away a stray blond curl, catching her parted lips in his for the sweetest and most tender kiss they had ever experienced with each other.
"I'm going to miss you so much Nicky," she said as the reality of what was about to happen sank in once again. Shaking his head with a small smile, he remained silent as he placed his warm fingers of her lips. She closed her eyes as he sang.

As he struggled to contain the upset seeping through his raw voice, his whole body shuddered as the machine stopped bleeping. Wiping away the single tear that had fallen down her cheek, he placed a gentle kiss on her warm lips before singing the last line of their song.
