.::*At The Hospital*::.

They sat there in worry for the next hour and a half, alone. Both Kelseys parents were in court because they were lawyers, her sister couldnt leave her babysitting job and her brother had gone to Nevada on a camping trip and wouldnt be able to get back till the next day. Jesses parents said theyd try to get there as soon as they could. Lea was at her friends house and Timmy was at preschool. Greg was completely confused. Jesse held his head so he himself didnt faint. Greg tapped Jesses shoulder and asked, Youre keeping something from me, arent you?

Youre love is like a river, peaceful indeed.

Your soul is like a secret that I never could keep.

When I look into your eyes I know that its true.

God must have spent a little more time on you.

Jesse nodded slowly, Yeah, GregIm sorry, but Kelsey has leukemia. Gregs mouth dropped as Jesses eyes became crowded with tears. Greg sighed, taking a breath in, I have to tell you the truth about what happened. Jesse glanced at Greg, What do you mean the truth? GregYou didnt sleep with Kelsey did you? Greg made an embarrassed face, Not really. Jesse sat up, What do you mean not really? Its either yes or no! Greg continued, Almost, but she started crying, so I backed offshe grabbed her shirt and ran for the bathroom. While I was putting my shirt on, I heard a thud and walked to the bathroom. I told her I was sorry, but she didnt answer me. I asked her if she was okay, but there was still no answer Tears were no forming in Gregs eyes as he tried to finish his story. Jesse. I almost slept with Kelsey and for what? A stupid bet! A freaking stupid bet! Kelsey could be gone today, and Id never be able to say that Im sorry! Shell never know that I didnt mean to do what I had done! Jesse only sat in shock, unable to speak. When I opened the door, I saw her lying there. Thats when I called you and started panicking because I didnt know what was wrong with her. Jess, Im sorry.

Every thing I do, leads me back to you.

I know I just cant let us go.

Must have been a reason, but I cant remember now.

I know if I could hold you we could work it out.

Youve sewn into the fabric, the pieces of my life.

And girl lets give it one more try, cause I just cant remember why, we said goodbye.

As Greg finished, Chris, Matt and Frankie joined Jesse and Frankie said, We came as soon as we could. Matt was wearing his work outfit, Chris was in a leather jacket and blue jeans, and Frankie was wearing his regular everyday clothes. I got out of work just to be here. Matt explained referring to his outfit. Chris nodded, Yeah, I sort of got out of a modeling photo shoot to get here. Frankie shrugged, I just came from home. How is she? Jesse shrugged, Dont know yet, doctor hasnt come out. Greg glanced towards the emergency door and saw the doctor come out. Both Jesse and Greg stood up and the five teens walked towards the doctor. Jesse asked partially scared, How is she?

Im never gonna say goodbye.

Cause I never wanna see you cry.

I swear to you my love will remain.

And Ill swear it all over again and I.

Im never gonna treat you bad.

Cause I never wanna see you sad.

And Ill swear it all over again.

The doctor took off his mask and said, Not well, she probably wont make it through the night. Her heart isnt stable enough. This cancer grew faster then expected. The doctor scratched his head, I dont think it was leukemia, although shes young enough to get it. Greg grabbed onto the doctors sleeve, Can we go see her? The doctor nodded and said, Any sign of coughing or such, call me. The five teens nodded and took masks from the doctor, put them on and walked into the emergency room where the lifeless Kelsey was found.

For a prayer, and a song.

I hear your voice and it keeps me hanging on.

Raining down against the wind.

Im reaching out till we reach the circles end.

When you come back to me again.

Greg walked over to her and gently picked up her cold hand and said, Hey. Kelsey weakly smiled as she slowly looked around at Jesse, Greg, Frankie, Matt and Chris. Jesse took her other hand, rubbing it with his thumb, How are you? Kelseys face fell, I could be better. She took a deep breath in and Chris, Matt and Frankie couldnt say anything. This couldnt be the same Kelsey that they had seen at Jesses party only four months ago. Greg cried, Its not fair.
Youre too young to be this sick. Kelsey tried to calm him as Greg cried, but it was no use. She wasnt strong enough to help him. Jesse started crying as tears rolled down his cheeks, Kelsey, dont leave me. Kelsey took another deep breath in, Im not going any where. She tried to think positive about her situation and Matt said, Kelsey He trailed on and Kelsey luckily made it through the rest of the day.

You may say Im a dreamer.

But Im not the only one.

I hope someday you will join us.

And the world can live as one.

Kelsey had fallen asleep holding, Greg and Jesses hands. Waking up abruptly in a violent cough, she tried to stop. Jesse pointed to Frankie and said, Doctor! Frankie ran out of the room knocking over a tray of surgery utensils and yelled, Doctor! Nurse! Any one! Nurses and Doctors ran into the room. Two nurses told the five teenage boys to wait outside. They all walked outside and watched the painful misery through the window into to the surgery room. Jesse held his hand up against the glass and cried as Greg shook his head. The doctors were struggling to save Kelsey, but it was obviously hard. Chris comforted Greg while Matt and Frankie tried to reassure Jesse. There was a shrill high bleeping noise and it was clear that the doctors had failed. Jesse ran to the doorway and yelled, Kelsey! The doctors exited the room and last one walked over to Jesse, Greg, Chris, Matt and Frankie. Im sorry boys, shes gone. The doctor explained. Jesse fell to his knees, crying violently while Greg punched the wall screaming. Kelsey was gone forever, and she couldnt come back.

Take very prayer you gave me.

Take the heart from my chest.

Ill gladly take her place if you let me.

Make this my last request.

Take me out of this world.

God please, dont take the girl.

Kelsey died of carcinoma, not leukemia. Although the doctors said shed live longer than expected, she really only lived for 16 years, 4 months and 4 days. The cancer she had, didnt show up until it was too late and had already died.

Kelseys parents held a funeral a week after her death. It was a very sad day for every one. Kelsey was remembered at a colorful, unique, successful teenager who always tried her hardest at everything. The person who missed her the most was Jesse, considering he spent his last 16 years with her as his best and closest friend.

This story is dedicated to my Grandfather who passed away last year in August of the same cancer. They said it was slow growing, but it wasnt. I miss him just as much as my kitten (one of his best friends after we moved). Dont take things for granted, because one day, you might think that what you have is there, when it really isnt.

Please note that the songs that are in there arent written by me they are famous songs, some are country and some are old songs. I chose my most favorite out of all of them. I hope they fit the mood perfectly.
