"What's going on??" Kian started panicking. But the doctor said "We don't know anything yet...you'll have to wait. " Then she was gone.
Diana was still staring at the direction the doctor had disappeared to. Then went back to Kerry. "Okay, I'm coming Kerry..." She said.
"Okay...but you gotta ask someone to bring you here." Kerry told her.
"Okay." She looked around her. Her gaze stopped on Shane who, noticing that, got up from his seat.
"I can take you there.." He said, as if reading her mind.
"Shane's bringing me there." She told Kerry.
"Okay, hurry up...otherwise Georgie and me are gonna be late..." She added.
"Yeah..." Diana hung up. "Okay...Kian, Bryan, Mark and Nicky......you're all gonna stay here?" She looked at them questioningly.
"Yup...", "Yeah..." Were their answers.
"I'm staying here till she's okay again" Kian said, stubbornly and sat on a seat nearby.
"I'm staying with Ki.." Nicky too, said.
"I'll go get something to eat for us all..." and with that, Mark went down to the hospital's caf?.
"I'll come with ya and see my Kezza too..." Bryan moved towards Shane.
"Ok then...call us with the news, okay?" Shane told them.
"Yeah." They said.
Diana walked up to Kian. She sat next to him for a second. "What did she say to you when you were with her?" She asked.
Kian looked at her with sad eyes.
"Oh...that..." She said, looking away, knowing what had happened.
"How...?" Kian started to ask her, a puzzled look on his face.
"Ki, I'm her sister...I know her well..." She explained. With that she went back to Shane and Bryan, who were already waiting for her.
"Bry!!!" Kerry jumped on Bryan after she'd opened the door.
"Kerry...mua luuuuvvv...." Bryan jokingly said, hugging her.
Diana was looking at Shane, a weird look on her face.
"They're always like that!" Shane explained, again, reading her mind. She smiled at him.
"Okay...here's the stuff..." Georgina showed them the last stuff for Dylan.
"When he wakes up, be sure to feed him...okay?" Kerry told them, for at least 5th time in 10 minutes. Then they hurriedly left, Bryan following them. He went back to the hospital after dropping Kerry and Georgina off.
"We should be back in 2-3 hours." Kerry yelled from the corridor. Then they were gone, leaving Shane and Diana looking funny, surrounded by all the baby stuff you can imagine.
"Okay then..." Shane jokingly said.
"Yeah..." Diana quietly said, slumping onto the couch. "You look tired." She eyed him.
"So do you." He said. "But you still look gorgeous..." He naughtily said. Then looked down, afraid that his last sentence hadn't been too good to say then.
"Please stop that Shane." She looked at him.
"But...why?" He continued, stubbornly. "You like me....right?" he kept talking and now took a seat on the couch as well.
"Shane, please...I'm too tired to talk about this..." She tried to find an excuse, so not to talk about that.
"But..." He looked at her with his puppy-dog eyes.
"Don't do that..." She begged him. "I'm not good in saying no to puppy-dog eyes..." She tried to ignore him. "I'm tired..." She closed her eyes.
Shane let her lean against himself. Soon enough she was asleep. "God, she's gorgeous while sleeping..." He thought to himself. He kept thinking of them, himself and Diana, for a long time. "I gotta get near to her...to her heart." he told himself.
At the same time at the hospital.
"We've been waiting for so long. It's been going on for over an hour now....how much more??" Kian yelled at the doctor that had come out to explain a few things.
"Ki, calm down." Nicky told Kian, but Kian wasn't listening.
"I wanna know how she is....I wanna see her." He panicked.
"Mister..." The doctor started.
Kian stormed to the door, wanting to get in. Nicky, Mark and the doctor were running after him.
The monitor that was attached to Shiri, started beeping just then. He was in the room already and saw all the medical stuff around Shiri.
"Oh God.." he was shocked. Though he wasn't a doctor, he knew what meant a thin straight line. "Shiri...no....please.... PLEASE don't leave me." he wanted to get to her but was torn out of the room.
"We're not ready yet." The doctor told him.
Kian wasn't listening to anybody. He was just standing there, a shocked look on his face. "Shiri..." Was the only word that crossed his lips.
Just then, Bryan got back. Seeing Kian there, he looked at the others.
"What's wrong with him?" he asked them.
The doctor called for some nurses. "We're gonna have to take him to another room. I think he's having a shock." She stated.
"You 'think'...." Mark ironically said. They all went to Kian's room. He only repeated Shiri's name. The others were glancing at each other, worried looks on their faces.
Shane's mobile suddenly rang. He had dozed off for a second too. Diana was the first one to notice the ringing.
"Shane..." She whispered. No reply. "Shane!" he almost yelled into his ear. Still no response. "Gosh..." she thought. "Impossible...." She had almost forgotten all the problems she'd had. She started to take the phone from Shane's pocket as Shane suddenly moved.
"What are you doing??" he asked her, puzzled, seeing her taking something from his pocket.
"Finally..." Diana rolled her eyes. "Your mobile was ringing.
"It was?"
"God, yeah..." But you were sleeping like a baby, she said in a sweet voice. Then realized that she shouldn't have said that. He looked at her and was about to get closer to her but then his mobile rang again.
"I'm gonna see if Dylan's okay." She stood up, heading to Dylan's room.
Shane impatiently answered. "What??" He yelled into the phone.
"Shane??" Mark amusedly yelled back!
"Oh....any news?"
"Ki had a shock.....everything's as bad as it gets..." He said.
"Oh God..." Shane said.
Unnoticeably to him, Diana had got back. "What...what is it?" all the problems came bashing back. "How's Shiri?" She asked, tears in her eyes.
Shane looked at her, wanting to hug her again. But Diana pulled away.
"Just tell me what's wrong." She demanded.
Mark heard that "We're gonna look after him....Shiri's heart nearly stopped beating." He also added.
Seeing Shane's face getting a shocked look, Diana started panicking.
"Just stay there....I'll call with any news." Mark said and hung up. Shane put his mobile down.
"We're gonna stay here, they'll take care of them." He calmly told Diana.
"Them?" Diana looked at him, her face looking like a big question mark.
