"Hey guys." Mark looked away from Ria.
"Hi." Kian said.
"I'll go upstairs to see how's Shiri doing." Diana said and walked towards the stairs.
Shiri was with her back to the door.
"Shir...are you sleeping?"
No answer.
She was about to leave when she heard Shiri sobbing.
"Shir?..." Diana stepped closer. She sat on her bed. "Are you okay?"
"No..." she quietly said.
"You wanna talk about it?"
"No..."
"Is it about Kian?"
Then Shiri turned to face Diana. Her eyes were red from tears. "I didn't mean to hurt him..." she said, crying even more. "I just snapped." she paused. "Now he hates me..."
"I don't hate you..." She heard a voice coming from the door's direction.
"Kian.." Shiri quickly wiped her tears.
"I'm gonna..." Diana started. "Get something to drink." She said and left the room.
"Kian, I..." Shiri tried to say something but got cut off by Kian.
"You don't have to explain, you were right...it's just that when you were in surgery I thought I was gonna lose you so I...kinda...wanted to make sure it will never happen again."
"It's okay Kian..." She now smiled.
"I love you." He leaned closer to her and kissed her.
Just then Ria came in. "Ahem..."
Shiri quickly pulled back. "Ria...hi...I was just...hmmm...talking to Kian here..."
"Yeah...whatever." Ria laughed. "Can I talk to you for a second?" Ria said looking at Kian, marking him to leave. "Alone."
"Oh I'll just go to...get a drink too..." He said, gave Shiri a quick kiss and left.
Ria sat down. "Shiri..." She paused.
"Yeah?" Shiri looked at her.
"Yesterday..." She started. "I had a date with Mark..."
Ria couldn't finish cause she got cut off by Shiri.
"And you didn't tell me??"
"That's not my point."
"Okay...so how was it?"
Ria sighed. "Let's just say it wasn't like a expected." She said, looking at Shiri. "I always had this picture in my head...I thought we'd be perfect for each other." She continued. "But we're so different. It's not gonna work out..."
"I'm sorry Ria..." Shiri hugged her. "Don't worry, someday you'll find the right man for you."
"Yeah, I guess you're right." She said, then smiled. "I suppose you've found your Mr. right."
"Shut up." She laughed.
"Hi Di." Kian said when he got to the hospital's caf?.
"Hey Kian..." She sounded kinda sad. "So how did it go with Shiri?" She asked, looking into her cup.
"It went great, we're cool now." He paused. "And you and Shane?"
She now looked at him, surprised he asked that, then looked down. "There is no 'me and Shane'." She sadly said.
"Yes there is." He told her. She looked at him. "I've known Shane for a long time now and I know he cares about you. Me and Shiri worked things out...I know you can too." He said, got up and left.
"Hey mate." Mark said when he saw Kian walking by.
"Hey." Kian took a seat next to him. "How's it going with Ria?"
"Don't ask." Mark said, looking tired. "We had a date last night..."
"And...?"
"It wasn't bad...I mean, she's pretty, sweet, funny..." he paused. "But she's not my type."
Shane arrived at the hospital. He walked in the hospital's caf? to get coffee, when he faced Diana.
"Di..." he looked at her. "I'm sorry...I can come back later..." He turned around and was about to leave.
"No, wait." She said. "Shane...we need to talk."
He looked at her, not knowing whether to stay or go.
"Please..."
"Okay."
They took a seat.
"So...." Shane started. "How's Brandon?"
"What?!"
"Your boyfriend, Brandon, how is he?"
"I don't have a boyfriend!"
"Then...husband??" Shane was puzzled.
"No!...no husband, no boyfriend." She told him.
"But..." He started.
"Shane..." She stopped him. "There's something I need to tell you."
"Ever since my parents died...I was afraid to get close to anyone cause I didn't wanna lose them like I lost my parents..." Diana said, holding her tears in. "I met Brandon a bit after they died...I just pushed him away, and lost him...now I almost made the same mistake with you...I don't wanna lose you, Shane." tears were rolling down her cheek.
"You're not gonna lose me..." he said, wiping her tears away. "I'll always be there for you...whenever you need me..."
She hugged him as tight as she could.
"Di..." he whispered. "I l..."
*Ring Ring* Diana's mobile rang. "Sorry..." she picked up the phone. "Hello?"
"Di!!!" She heard a voice on the other end of the line.
"Sonia!" Diana called.
"Hey!!!! How are ya??" Sonia excitedly yelled.
Shane was looking at Diana thinking who that might be.
"I'm...." she looked at the direction of Shane "Pretty fine." she said. "But Shiri isn't..." She finished, looking away from Shane.
"What? What's wrong with her?" Sonia got worried.
"She's in the hospital....I'll tell you later, okay?" she asked. She stood up and started moving towards Shiri's room.
Shane followed her after picking up his tea.
"Yeah...okay...erm... can you come and pick me up?" Sonia carefully asked.
"Um...course, but...I have no idea how...I'll call ya back right away okay?" She told Sonia.
"Ok, hurry up!" She hung up. She wasn't looking where she was going, so accidentally bumped into someone.
"I'm sorry...." The guy said.
Shane went to Diana. "You okay?" he asked concerned. He noticed Diana and the guy looking at each other weirdly. "Di? What is it?" He asked.
"Shane...." Diana started. "Meet Brandon..." She said. "Brandon, meet Shane" She introduced them.
"Hi." Brandon said.
After staring Brandon weirdly and noticing the 'hi' Shane replied a short "Hello".
Noticing the uncomfortable situation, Diana finally asked "Um...so...what brings you here?"
"I heard about the accident." Brandon said, concerned. "Are you okay?" he added.
"Me?" Diana pointed at herself. "I...yeah...um...Shiri got hit by a car....I'm fine..."
Shane got a step closer to Diana.
"Oh...so can I see her?" He asked, at the same time staring towards Shane.
"Yeah...absolutely." Diana tried to smile to him.
"Okay..." .He followed Diana and Shane on the way up the stairs.
Diana entered the room.
"Di!...So how did it go with...." She didn't get any further as she saw Brandon coming in after her.
"Oh...Brandon...hey!" Shiri said, surprised.
"Hey!" Brandon said. "So...I see you're doing pretty good." He added.
"Yeah...I am..." Just then Kian and Ria entered the room.
"Who's that?" Kian strictly asked. Shiri shot him a look. Kian looked at her, weirdly, then walked to her.
"This is Brandon." Shiri said. "And this is Kian and you already know Ria." She told Brandon.
"Aren't you guys..?" Brandon started.
"Yeah, yeah...from Westlife." Shane sharply told him.
Diana looked at him strangely. So did the others.
"Diana...have you forgotten your appointment??" Ria reminded her.
"Oh yeah...I mean no!" Diana shook her head. "I'm just gonna have to...get Sonia from the airport first." She explained. As Shiri was about to ask something, she added "She called me...I gotta go."
"Tell her to come here too then!" Shiri told Diana.
Now Brandon who'd been quiet, asked "How are you gonna get there Di?".
Shane was about to explode. "Don't..." he started to say, but got an unnoticeable punch from Kian. Shane looked at Kian, angrily. "How can he call her Di??" was all Shane could think of.
"I'm..." Diana was thinking.
"I'm gonna take her there" Shane butted in, taking hold of Diana's arm.
"Shane?" Diana asked, looking at him.
She walked over to Shiri. "I'll be back tonight."
"Good luck with Louie!!" Shiri told her.
"Let's go now..." Shane impatiently said, noticing Brandon looking at Diana.
"See ya Brandon." Diana waved to him.
"Bye."
"I'm coming Sonia!" Diana shortly said as Sonia picked up.
"Okay!" She replied.
"You still like him?" Shane asked her when they got into the car.
"What do you mean?" She tried to avoid the question.
"You know what I mean." Shane looked at her.
She looked down. "It's been so long since I last met him...I think I really hurt him." She sadly said.
"You're not gonna get back with him....are you?" Shane carefully asked.
"Please let's go now..." Diana pleaded.
"Okay...." He quietly said.
"Di!!!" Sonia yelled. Diana turned around.
"Sonia!" She hugged her.
"How are ya?!"
"I'm fine." Diana gave a little laugh.
Sonia was standing in front of her, mouth wide open. She was pointing at something...or in that case someone, behind Diana. "Di...Oh My Gosh...it's...he's...behind you.." She said in a funny voice.
"Oh!" Diana slapped her forehead. "Sonia...this is Shane..." Then started laughing. "Sorry...I meant Shane this is Sonia...cause she already knows you!" Diana looked at Shane.
"Nice to...." Sonia gulped "Meet you.." She finished.
Shane almost started laughing too. On the way Diana and Shane explained Sonia about what's Shiri doing in a hospital.
"Y'see...Kian...that worm.. ran over her!" Diana stated.
"Kian?...ran over....worm????" Sonia looked at her.
"Yeah...it happened accidentally..." Shane explained.
"You mean...Kian....as in Kian Egan?" She still couldn't believe it.
"Yeah..." Diana and Shane said at the same time, then laughed.
"Any news of Brandon?" Sonia then asked. They had forgotten him for a moment. Now Shane almost jumped from his seat.
Diana looked at him. "He's in the hospital...came to look how Shir's doing...." She quietly said.
"Oh..." Sonia felt that the question had caused tension. She didn't say anything till they got to the house. Sonia was gonna stay in Diana and Shiri's apartment.
"Okay....so put your stuff into that room!" Diana directed her. Now Diana looked at her watch. "Shit!!" She yelled. Shane was looking at her.
"What happened??" He got concerned.
"Sonia..... now.... out.... Louie.... Ria.... dead..... me..... NOW!!!! Lets go!!!!!!!!" She pulled Sonia out the door with her. Sonia was looking at her weirdly. Shane just stood there. "Come on!!!!" Diana impatiently shouted. Shane followed them, laughing to himself. "I'm 10 minutes late!!" Diana said, looking worried.
"Ah...don't panic...Louie's not gonna kill ye..." Shane tried to calm her. It still hadn't quite sunk in to Sonia that she was with a member of Westlife.
"Okay.....I'm going in." Diana yelped. Shane gave her a supporting hug.
Sonia looked at them amusedly. "Are they an item or something?" She thought to herself.
Diana knocked on the door which lead to Louie's office.
"Come in." called a voice from inside.
Diana pulled Sonia in with her. "You're coming with me!!"
