Christmas time in Ireland. Diana was walking around a small town in went Ireland,
called Sligo. She has never been there before, but this year, her parents decided they
want to have their Christmas vacation there, so she joined.
She missed her friends and her boyfriend Ryan, but she couldn't reject the fact that
the area she was walking now was beautiful. It was a huge field, horses were walking
around there, and Diana kept herself away from them, knowing she'll never leave if
she touches one of them.
It was cold and she was wearing a long white fury cote, a matching scarf, matching
glove and a matching hat. She didn't usually wear pants, so she didn't have much.
That was the reason why in the middle of the winter she wore a brown wool skirt
underneath the coat.
A sound of a horse riding behind her made her turn around really quickly and fall,
she was still sitting on the grass, trying to get up when the horse rider stopped near
her.
"Hey, why are you sitting here? It's dangerous you know, with all those horses
walking around." He said with an Irish accent.
Diana raised her head to look at him "I'm sitting here cause you scared me showing
up outa no where, and I fell, and my leg hurts and now I can't get up" she said, her
upper west side London accent got more conspicuous as she got a bit mad.
"Oh, I'm sorry, are you alright?" he got off his horse.
"I don't think so, I can't stand up" she said.
The guy held her hand and helped her up, but as soon as she stood she had to lean on
him, because her leg couldn't carry her weight.
"Oh dear" the guy said "want to ride the horse to my house? You can call someone
when we get there"
Diana sighed, she didn't really want to go with someone she didn't even know, but
on the other hand, she couldn't just stay there and wait for the cold night and snow to
kill her.
"Sure, thank you" she tried to smile.
The guy brought a big rock and led the horse next to it; he then asked Diana to stand
on the rock and held his hand to help her up on the horse.
"No thank you, I know how to ride a horse" Diana said and somehow got on the
saddle.
The guy took the reins and led the horse slowly towards a house Diana could see
now.
"So what is you name?" he asked.
"Diana Scot"
"What are you doing here?"
"Excuse me?"
"I mean, a beautiful British young girl shouldn't walk around places she doesn't
know. Why aren't you in London? Why aren't you with your boyfriend?"
"My parents took me with them to this vacation, and they are touring churches and
everything, I don't like that"
"Oh"
"What is your name anyway?"
"Liam, Liam Filan"
"Nice to meet you, where are you taking me to?"
"To my family house, all of the family is there now, with girlfriends and boyfriends
and husbands and wives, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you come in and call
your parents to come and get you"
Diana sighed, that was the last thing she needed now, to meet lots of new people
when she's injured and dirty.
"It's here, just let me call my brother to help you in so that I can put marlie back in
the stable" he said when they arrived, and then called a name Diana didn't recognize.
She didn't actually listen either.
Someone cuddled with a big coat and scarf got out.
"What do you want Liam? It's cold out here"
"I need you to help this young lady in and show her where the phone is. I think she
twisted her ankle or something"
Liam's brother quickly got out and stood next to Diana. She carefully raised her leg
over the back of the saddle and tried to stand on the other crank handle, but it was a
bit wet and she slipped. Luckily Liam's brother was there to catch her before she hit
the ground.
"It's not your day huh?" a sexy Irish voice said.
"Not at all" Diana leant on his hand and limped to the house.
"Sit here and take off your coat, I'll be right back with the phone" he said and while
walking out of the room took his coat and scarf off.
Diana looked around her, no doubt that family liked horses, and they had lots of
money. She took off her coat, scarf, gloves and hat and waited.
"There you go" someone gave her a phone. Diana looked up and her heart missed a
beat. He was stunning, standing there with the phone in his hand and a smile on his
face. Diana took her wallet out of her pocket and looked for the number of her
father's cell phone. She dialed his number and waited.
"Hello, dad? Hi, I need you to pick me up from somebody's house. I twisted my
ankle when I fell on the snowy grass and I can't walk" she said "I'll give you the
eddy" she looked at the young guy who was sitting next to her. He took a small note
and quickly wrote their address. Diana read it to her father "how long would it take?"
she asked "oh ok, bye dad"
"Diana right?" the young man asked.
"Yeah" she smiled.
"I'm Shane" they shook hands "how long did he say it would take?"
"He didn't quite know" she answered.
"Oh well, I guess that means your staying here for a while" he smiled "my family
will be here any second now; they all went out to shop for presents"
"oh, cool" she leant back.
"you want me to check your leg in the meanwhile?"
"can you?"
"sure, let me just take off your shoe" he played with the strings and took the shoe off
"do you ride?" he asked while feeling her ankle.
"yeah, why?"
"your shoes, I think I know why you twisted this ankle" he said "can you move it?"
Diana tried, she moved it a bit, but it hurt.
"great, I think it's not broken, though I don't know what it IS"
"why did I twist my ankle?"
"these shoes, their soles are slippery, they are great for riding, but bad for walking,
they don't hold the ground too good. if you walk with your riding shoes, i'd say you
better buy new shoes, with furrowed soles"
"i didn't know that and i ride for 17 years, before i even knew how to walk on my
own legs."
"how old are you?" Shane asked.
"i just turned 18 in July"
"really? i was born in July, when exactly?"
"july 5th"
shane looked at her, shocked "you joking right?"
"no... why?"
"i was born at the same day, few years earlier, i'm 22"
"hello!" loud voices from outside stopped the convarsation "shane! liam! can one of
your boys open the door? we forgot our keys"
shane got up "in a second mom" she opened the door and around 15 people went
inside.
"look who we found on our way!" a grown woman said, a young blond woman
hugges shane and the two of them kissed.
"where is liam?" the girl asked.
"did i hear my name?" Liam went inside the room.
"liam! hello darling" the blond girl hugged him.
"gilian! how are ya doll?" Liam hugged her back.
"i'm great!" gilian giggled.
"goodie!" liam left her and came to sit near diana "you alright?"
"you seem to ask that lots of times lately" she smiled.
"my family can be a bit..."
"noisy?"
"yeah, noisy" liam laughed "but they're great, want me to introduce you to them?"
"yeah, sure"
liam took a deep breath "SHUT UP!" she yelled. everyone turned to look at him
"now that i got your attention, i want you to meet diana"
diana shook hands with mea, her husband and the rest of liam's brothers and sisters.
"you already know shane" she said "this is gilian, his girlfriend"
"oh, hi" diana shook gilian's hand.
"why are you sitting there? it is only polite to stand up when somebody introduces
you to someone else" gilian said.
"she can't get up on her own gil, leave the poor girl alone" shane said.
"why can't you stand?"
"i twisted my ankle earlier... liam showed up outa no where with his horse and i fell,
so he offered to take me to the house so that i can wait here for my parents to come"
"oh, cool"
"come on people! dinner! gil, diana, you hungry girls?"
"no, thank you Ms. Filan" diana said.
"call me mea, a friend of my son is a friend of mine. most of them anyway" mea
smiled "gil?"
"no, i already ate, i'll sit here and talk to diana"
"ok" mea disapeared.
"very smart of you, huh girlie?"
"what?" diana turned.
"walking around the filan's fields, accidentaly falling and coming to shane's house,
saying you can't walk" gilian said "i know this thing, lots of girls would like to be
invited to a dinner in shane filan of Westlife house!"
"shane's a member of westlife?" diana asked.
"yes, don't you act stupid on me, i'm too smart for you"
"i really didn't know, i'm not so into this whole pop world"
"let's pretend i believe you, and i don't. as soon as you leave this house, i don't want
to see you near shane ever again, got it? he is my boyfriend, and soon he will be my
fiance too, understood? i'm happy"
"i didn't do nothing" diana said "how dare you come here and blame me for being a
teeny bopper who will do everything just to get into her idol's house? besides, it was
liam who invited me, i didn't even know i was walking on their land"
"darling, don't you mess with me, i suggest you'd leave, now! you can wait outside"
"i'll leave, as soon as Liam would tell me, or when my father arrives, not a minute
earlier!" diana's eyes shot sparks.
"what is all the mess about?" Liam showd up after hearing their loud voices talking.
"me and diana just had a tiny little argue about who is better, N'sync or the Backstreet
Boys" gilian sent a faked smile to him.
"girlie, i thought you know that Westlife are the best and fuck all the rest" Liam
laughed.
diana had to giggle, then somebody knocked on the door.
"i'm coming" liam called and went to open the door.
"mr. filan right?" an old man asked.
"yeah. mr. scot?"
"yap, diana's father"
"come in, she's inside" Liam shut the door behind mr. scot.
"Di love! hey, we were worried" mr. scot hugged his daughter.
"i'm alright thanks to Liam and his family" diana smiled "can we go? i'm tired and
dirty"
"yeah, sure" her father helped her up and led her outside of the house "thanks again
mr. filan"
"call me liam" Liam said.
"then you'd have to call me Alex" mr. scot smiled.
"ok alex, see ya diana"
"bye" diana stepped to the car.
