James, Matt and Charlie sat at their lunch table talking about music, girls and class. Whilst at the other end of the playground Jess, Kate and Lorna were playing netball on one of the courts.
"Hey guys, I just got a text from JB he wants us to come up and sit with them" Jess announced
"What are we waiting for?" Asked Kate picking up her bag
Jess and Lorna picked their bags up and joined Kate who was already charging of down the playground.
"Why are you so keen to get up there Kate?" Lorna asked
"Is it a crime to be rushing up to see mates?" Kate replied sarcastically
"Hello girls!" Said Charlie happily
"Hey" Said Jess sitting next to Matt "What you guys doing to night?"
"We're going round Chase's" JB replied
"Do you guys want to come over too?" asked Charlie
"Alright I want to ask mum something" Jess suddenly shouted
"Ok cool" Charlie said sarcastically
"Look I have to go, Charlie I'll come round at half five later guys"
"Alright," Charlie said
Jess walked of to the music room; she sat on the chair for the drums, picked up the sticks and started to play. Then someone knocked on the door Jess kept playing, as she didn't hear this.
"ERR hi, Jess" Shouted Li
Then Jess stopped playing and looked up at Li.
"Hey, what do you want?" Jess asked
"I left the band's CD copy in the player" Li answered
"Oh right, so you didn't come to see me then" Jess said pretending to be hurt "Can I borrow the bands CD copy sometime?"
"Yeah sure you can have it now if you want, Lee Roy has the real one" He replied getting the CD out
"Thanks!" Jess said
"I'll put it over here and leave you to your playing" Li said "Oh Jess will you do the band a favour?"
"It depends�. What is it?" Jess asked
"Well we're playing at the androids club tomorrow night and Mark cant make it cause he's away and we need a drummer, and well will you stand in for him please?" He asked
"Why not, what time do you want me there?" she asked
"Well the gig starts at eight so maybe seven thirty" Li answered
"Ok, is it ok if JB, Matt, Charlie, Lorna and Kate come?" Jess asked
"Yes, well I have to go bye" He said
"Later" She said picking up the sticks again
Meanwhile in the maths room
"Mr Jay, will you tell the class how to work out this sum" Said Mr Mackintosh
"Well err you erm�" Matt started
"Well you don't know cause you was not listening to a word I said, you were to busy clowning around with you're mates. Outside now!" Mr Mackintosh interrupted
Matt got up and walked out of the door.
"Right class, turn to page sixty and do all the work until you get to page sixty five please" He said
That lesson seemed to go on for hours, and when it finally finished the class stuffed their books in their bag's and left the class as quick as they could. Jess and Matt were outside waiting for James and Charlie.
"Where are Kate and Lorna?" Charlie asked
"They have half day's on Thursday" Jess answered
"Oh yeah!" James said
"Oh guys are you lot doing anything on Friday?" Jess asked as they walked to the field
"No" They all said
"You are now!" Jess informed them happily "You're coming to the androids club to see Egan play live with me as the drummer" Jess said
"Ok cool!" Matt said as they sat on the grass
The rest of the school day went fine, and they all got home on time, which was very rare! At five Jess got ready she pulled on her tarten mini skirt with chains all over it, a black and pink t-shirt with slits all down the back of it and her high black punk shoe's. When she was dressed she put a bit of eyeliner on and then the door went.
"Come in!" yelled Jess
Kate and Lorna walked in the house and sat on the stairs then Jess walked out and stood at the top of the stairs. Lorna and Kate turned round and smiled, even though Jess had a very different style to them they thought she looked lovely. Lorna and Kate were girly girls and Jess was a grunge and a skater girl. The girls always Jess looked great in her clothes and so did the boys. Jess ran down the stairs and grabbed her jacket and walked out of the door followed by Lorna and Kate. When they got to Charlie's James was already there, and he answered the door.
"Hey, come in," said JB
The girls walked in and sat in Charlie's living room.
"Where's Matt?" Jess asked
"I don't know" JB replied
"Well, lets go round to his" Kate said
When they got to Matt's no one answered the door so they decided to go straight in, they could hear voice's coming from the living room, they all poked their heads round the door.
"Matt come on you're the same size as you're cousin" Mrs Jay was saying
"But mum, boys don't wear dresses! What's Jess going to think if she sees me in a dress?" He asked
"Matt she's either at hers or Charlie's so she's not going to see, no just pulled it up a bit" Mrs Jay replied
"Is this better?" He asked pulling it up
"Right now, just pull up the bottom" She said
"Err� Mrs Jay" Jess said
"Arghhhh!!!" Screamed Matt
"Aww matt you look very nice, but Mrs Jay why doesn't Kate take over from Matt as she's a girl" Jess said
"Why don't you dear?" she asked
Mrs Jay held up the outfit in front of Jess, she looked down and screamed!! Jess ran out of the room and into the bathroom and locked the door. Then Mrs Jay came and stood outside the door.
"Jessica honey, you can come out now" Mrs Jay said
"Has the dress gone now?" Jess asked nearly in tears
"No I have it here with me" She replied
"Argh!!" Jess screamed
"What's wrong dear?" Mrs Jay asked
"Mum Jess has a phobia of dresses!" Shouted Matt from downstairs
"Oh, I am so sorry dear I didn't know I'll put it in Matt's room then you can come out" Mrs Jay told her
"Ok" she said
As soon as she heard Mrs Jay move away form the door she unlocked it and ran all the way down the stairs and into the living room. She ran up to Charlie and hugged him.
"Calm down sis" He said
"S�she had a.. d�dress" Jess stuttered
"I know" Charlie said
"So Matt are you coming round now?" Jess asked still holding on to Charlie
"Yeah!" He said
The groups walked out of the door and down the street.
"Oh god! Can we go the other way please?" Asked Charlie
"Charlie, no what are they going to do to us?" Jess replied
They carried on walking and when they were just walking past the 'thugs' one of them said something to Charlie.
"You're going to pay for what happened to my sister" He said "And you're going to pay right here and now"
He walked over to Charlie and thumped him, kicked and pushed him to the ground Charlie just lay there. Then he stopped Matt, James, Lorna and Kate ran over to him, and Jess went up to the boy that did it.
"Oi what happened to you're sister had nothing to do with Charlie!!" Jess shouted "So now you're going to pay for what you just did to him!"
Jess knocked the boy to the ground she kicked him and punched him endlessly.
"Jess that's enough!" Shouted James grabbing Jess
"James look at Charlie!! He could die, and all because of this fool here!!"
Jess shouted tears streaming down her face
James didn't know what to say and he let go of her, she carried on hitting him she pounced on him and hit him again.
"Jess, stop I need you here with me" Charlie mumbled
Jess heard this and thought for a minute then she rushed over to Charlie and held his hand.
"You're going to be alright aren't you Chase?" Jess asked hopefully
Charlie didn't say anything and just kept quiet so matt decided he'd answer.
"Course he is its Charlie we're talking about he'll be just fine" Matt answered
"I didn't ask you Charlie?" Jess said
"Jess, I don't know" He whispered
"But�.." Jess started
"Charlie right? You were attacked by some boy" The paramedic interrupted
"Yes" Charlie answered
"Sandy can you bring the strecher over here please" Sam said
She brought it over and they lay Charlie on it and carried him into the ambulance.
"Excuse me are you related?" Sandy asked
"Yeah brother and sister" Jess replied still in shock of what Charlie had said
"Come with us then" She said holding the door open
"Why Charlie?" Jess asked when she was sitting down next to him
"I've had worse accidents, and they said I should stay out of trouble. Jess he hurt me bad" Charlie answered
"Why didn't I know about it?" Jess asked
"Jess, you were adopted when we were born�. And I only found out you were my sister when I was ten and still I couldn't see you! We wanted to keep it a secret cause we didn't want you to get upset" Charlie replied
Jess sat in silence for the rest of the journey and when they got there she couldn't go in with Charlie either. Then suddenly Matt and James burst through the doors.
"Where are the girls?" Jess asked
"Outside" replied Matt
