The opening notes of Feel The Rain came on, and the crowd screamed. Dream
Street jumped onto the stage on cue, and we screamed even louder as they sang:
Feel the rain, fallin down on me, I call your name, I miss you cant you see.
.. . As they sang, you could feel the beat of the song, and the rhythm. I felt a
rush when they came to the front of the stage and danced.
When they played Jennifer Goodbye, Greg came to the edge of the stage, got
down on his knees, and sang to Candy. He took her hand in his, and held it as he
sang. Near the end, he leaned down ( the stage wasnt really high) and gave her
a kiss on the cheek. He then stood up and joined the rest of the guys and they
finished the song. The stage went dark for a minute, then the lights came on and
all of the guys: Frankie, Matt, Greg, Jesse and Chris, were standing in a line
in the middle of the stage.
Hows everyone doin tonight? Chris asked the crowd. The audience replied
with a scream.
Howd everyone like the new song outside? another scream as Frankie asked
everyone that. Matt stepped up and said:
Hows the ladies in the audience doin tonight? There was a scream, but not
quite as loud as the other ones. Dissatisfied, Greg cam forward.
Now what kind of scream was that? I hardly heard anything! Try it again! he
held the mic up and the audience screamed slightly louder than last time.
Nice to see some familiar faces in the crowd tonight. Jesse said, looking
towards Candy and I. Thank you all for being here tonight. The next song were
gonna do for you is called Gotta Get The Girl. Everyone screamed one more
time as the guys got in their spots and they began the song. Since it is Jesses
solo song, he was in the middle, and on his right (my left) was Chris and
Frankie, and on his left was Matt and Greg. As he sang, jesse went from side of
the stage to the other, singing as he went. He stopped in the middle, right in
front of me. And all other girls, dont compare to the sight that I see . . .
As he sang, he pointed to me.
When he got to the second verse, he came to the edge of the stage, got on his
knees, and motioned for me to give him his hand. I did, and he pulled me onto
the stage. I stood there, as he tried to persuade me to dance. I was shaking I
was so nervous, but I tried my best to dance without looking stupid. At the end
of the song, I just stood there, shaking. He came over to me and gave me a hug
and a kiss on the cheek, then helped me get off the stage.
The rest of the concert was awesome! When Matt cam to the front of the stage
and said thanks to us for coming, the crowd screamed for more.
Ok, ok, we might have time for one more song . . . what does everyone want to
hear? everyone screamed out different song names, and Frankie said:
How about we name two that we didnt do, and the one that gets the loudest
scream is the one well do.
Someone to hold me tonight. Chris said, and the crowd screamed.
Hooked on you. Cuz you know ya love that song.Matt said, and there was a
slightly louder scream. Well, well do that one then.
Yeah, you win Matt. Chris said jokingly, faking disappointment. They sang
that song, then left the stage. Before he left, Chris reminded the crowd That
they would be signing autographs inside the main entrance in about 15 minutes.
Lets get to the stage door so we can get backstage quick. We can wait for the
guys to finish signing autographs back there. I said to Candy, yelling over the
people in the crowd, that was now slowly moving towads the main lobby.
Candy and I walked outside to the side of the building, where the stage
entrance was. There were two guards standing there, blocking the door so no-one
could sneak in backstage. We got out our passes and clipped them to our shirts.
Hi. I said to the one guard. They noticed our passes. The one guard I said hi
to asked us where we got them from, and when we told them, they didnt believe
us at first.
We did though, we really did! Candy insisted to the guards. He sighed, then
opened the door and led us inside. He took us down a couple of hallways, then
stopped at a door that said dressing room. He knocked, and someone inside asked
wo it was. The guard said his name, Randy. The door opened, and Chris stood
there.
Did you guys give these girls passes? The guard asked him. Chris looked at
us, then said to hang on a sec. He stepped out of sight for a minute, and we
could hear him talking in the background.
Greg, Jess . . . I think youre girlfriends are here. we heard him say.
Candy and I giggled. A couple seconds later, the two of them appeared in the
doorway.
Hey. Jesse said to us. Yep, we gave them passes. Thanks, Randy.
Ok, just making sure. he said back, then walked back down the hallway and
disappeared. Greg smiled and told us to come in.
We were just going to go to the signing. Make yourselfs comfortable. Theres a
couple couches you can sit on. Theres magazines, and you can watch TV if you
like. he said, handing the TV remote to Candy as we sat down on one of the
couches facing the 27" screen TV in the room. He and Jesse gave us hugs, then
joined the rest of the guys as they left. After a minute, the door opened, and
Jesse poked his head in and said to us:
We shouldnt be more than 45 minutes, girls. He said, then winked and left.
8:45pm, Wednesday, Backstage.
As Candy and I waited for the guys to come back, she found a good show on TV
and I watched it as iread a new issue of PoPStar! Mag. When they got back, we
asked how it went.
Didnt kiss too mant girls, did you Greg? Candy aske him sarcastically. Greg
smiled, and replied in the same tone:
On;y a couple hundred. They both laughed, and I smiled as I saw Jesse walking
towards me. He sat down on the couch as Candy moved to the other couch to talk
with Greg.
So, uhh . . . how was the concert? Jesse asked me quietly, sounding a little
nervous.
Awesome, you guys really know how to get the crowd involved. I said to him,
smiling. He started to lean towards me, but then Frankie butted in.
Hey, you want some soda? Anything to eat? he asked me. Jesse leaned back
away.
Uhh . . . a Coke would be fine, thanks. he returned a minute later, and
handed me the Coke. Thanks.
No prob. Frankie said cooly. Hey Jesse, were just going to get something to
eat, you guys wanna come? He asked Jesse. Jesse got up, took him byt the arm,
and led him over to the other side of the room. While he was talking to him, I
looked over and saw Candy to Greg. He said something, and it must have been
funny, because she cracked up laughing.
Ok, those three are going out to eat, so what do you want to do? I turned
back just as Jesse sat back down and Matt, Chris and Frankie put on their
jackets, said goodbye, and left. Are you hungry?
Not really, Candy and I made sure we had something before coming . . . but, if
you are . . .
Hey you two, were going to a fair nearbye, you going? We both looked up, and
saw Candy and Greg standing right by the couch, ready to go out.
Great idea. Melissa, you want to go? Jesse asked, turning to me.
Yeah, that sounds great, lets go! I said enthusiastically. We got our
jackets on, and I said What about the posters Candy and I brought? Should we
just take them? I asked the boys.
Yeah sure, we can just put them in the trunk. Ready? Jesse asked patiently.
Yup, lets get going! We all left to the fair.
9:15pm, Wednesday, the fair
This looks so cool! I said excitedly, looking at all the rides and the game
stands at the sides of the walkway. Which one first? We all laughed.
Well, I want to go on that one. Candy said, pointing to a ride that said
Lightening.
Ok, well go on that one first. We can all meet back here at the entrance at
about . . .
11 Jesse said, interrupting Greg.
Sure he replied, and Candy and Greg left.
So, what do you want to do first? Jesse asked, turning to me.
Well, something big, I love roller coasters. I told him.
Alright, I think Cyclone might be what you want then. he said to me, pointing
to a huge roller coaster a couple minutes walk away. Jesse took my hand, and we
walked to the roller coaster.
Meanwhile . . .
Wow, that was awesome! Candy exclaimed. What next?
Woah, slow down there, cowgirl, you get excited way too easily. Greg told
her, taking her bythe shoulder to calm her down. She giggled, then asked him
what he wanted to do next. They both decided on a ride, and walked hand-in-hand
towards it.
10pm, Wednesday, the fair
Hey, are you hungry at all? Jesse asked me as we walked off the ramp of
Cyclone .
A but, yes. Do you want something to eat? I asked, shivering a bit from the
cold.
Are you cold? He asked, and stopped walking.
Only a little, I do only have a tee and light jacket on, but Ill be okay. I
told him. He looked in my eyes and asked if I was sure.
I could give you my jacket, Ive got a sweater on, so I wont freeze. I was
about to protest, when he leaned towards me and kissed me. Youre wearing the
jacket, whether you like it or not. he said as he pulled away, trying to sound
serious. He took off is balck sports jacket and helped me put it on. Now you
wont get cold. I laughed and smiled at him, then he took my hand again and we
walked to the food stand to get something to eat.
Meanwhile . . .
Brrr . . . geeze, its getting colder out here than I thought it would be.
Candy said to Greg.
Here, take my jacket, I wont freeze. He took off his jacket and put it
around Candys shoulders, and they stopped walking.
Thanks. Candy told him. She leaned forward to kiss him, and he kissed her
back. Greg put his arm around Candys waist, and they walked towards the line of
game stands.
At 10:30, the two couples passed each other as they walked, and said hi and
reminded eachother about meeting in half an hour.
Hey, Candy, what rides have you guys gone on?I asked her, stopping so we
could talk for a minute.
Oh lots . . . she named some of them, and a couple she couldnt remember the
names of. and we played a lot of those games. Did you do that bowling ball game
yet? Its easy.
Were going to the games now, I think. I turned to Jesse and he nodded.
Well, see you guys in half an hour then. We all said your goodbyes as we
parted once again, and I heard Candy say as she walked away . . . They look
cute together.
