Mrs. Minnie Johnson, Fourth District President, American Legion Auxiliary, met with members and families of Sink-Crumb Post 72, last Thursday when Mrs. Dickey, President of Paragould unit, and Mrs. Clifford, another active member from Paragould, aided Mrs. Johnson in explaining the duties of importance of auxiliary work. They were so successful in this that they had no trouble in organizing a unit in Knobel. The following women are charter members of this unit: Mrs. Taylor Fraine, Mrs. Roy barnett, Mrs. Pearl Myers, Mrs. William Russell, Mrs. Clarence Chaffin, Mrs. Hazel Adams, Mrs. Eugene McGraw all of Knobel, Mrs. Alfred Prince, Mrs. Walter Baker and Mrs. Neil Goldman, Peach Orchard. Roy Barnett, commander.

A surprise birthday-anniversary dinner was given here last Sunday at the home of Mrs. M.J Clarkson, that day being her 70th anniversary. Those present were Mr. and Mrs W.T Perdue and their children Cache Lake district, Mrs. Perdue a daughter of Mrs. Clarkson; Mr. and Mrs. Troy Perdue and their son, J.W of Knobel, the former a grandson of Mrs. Clarkson; two granddaughters of Mrs. Clarkson, Mrs. Dewey Davidson and Mrs. Adrian Tiner with their respective husbands and families, these also of Cache Lake district. Seventeen guests were present. At the noon hour, a bountiful spread was served, which everyone enjoyed to his or her fullest extent. During that afternoon, as her relatives departed for their homes, each wished Mrs. Clarkson many more and as happy anniversaries. (Knobel)

The J.H House family removed from this community to Paragould one day recently; Several local young people attended a birthday anniversary party at the Andy Adams residence one day recently, that day being Miss Rave Adams 17th anniversary; Born a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hector Hatley last Fiday, February 19; Mrs. J.A Coombes spent last Monday with Mrs. Maggie Montgomery; Pink Cruce and Walter Higgs of Knobel are building a house on the Cruce farm in the community and we hear that the Walter Higgs family soon will move into that house. Local young people enjoyed sing at Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Tiner's last Sunday evening; J.M Montgomery butchered a hog last Monday; Neighbors of andy Adams met at his home last Sunday and enjoyed a birthday anniversary surprise dinner, last Monday being his 51st anniversary. That feast included many good things. All report having had a nice time, the crowd afterwards attending Sunday School that afternoon; Nearly all the farmers in this district have quit farming and gone to cutting stove wood, this cold weather. Those who called on the H.E Simmons family last Sunday were Herbert Gleghorn, Johnny Webber, Roscoe and Quentin Hays, Misses Dewanda Quigley and Lorene Williams from Fisher farm; Professor Clarence Foster and two other gentlemen from Datto were in this community one day first of this week, on business; Among those who called on the Mrs. M.A Webber family last Sunday were Mrs. J.R Gleghorn, Mrs. Eldon Hays, her four small daughters, Mrs. William Phelan, her five children, Mrs. Herbert Gleghorn, her small son and daughter adn Estelle Jackson; Troy Jackson was a dinner guest of Orville Gleghorn last Sundayand he was a supper guest of Earl and Johnny Webber that night; Mr. and Mrs. S.J Woolfolk canned beef in their home last Tuesday when several were present, among them Eldon Hays and Loren Dennis as demonstrators; We are sorry to note that the H.B Adams family soon expect to sell out and leave here for Sikeston, Missouri where they will cultivate a share crop this year. Leroy and Loren Leonard called on the little  Handley boy one day last week when they enjoyed playing games. Lucille Sneed went horseback riding one day last week.(East Knobel)
