Armor Oddities
Strange and rare tank versions, conversions, and adaptations
A PzKpfw III with main removed, and an MG in its place.  The large barrel on the right of the tank is a fake.  Additional radio equiptment was fitted so this version could be used as a dedicated artillery spotter.

Another view of the 'Skink' turret.  Designed as an anti-aircraft weapon, this rare tank actaullly saw combat in the closing days of the war, and was found to be highly effective against enemy infantry.
The powerful 'Super Pershing', fitted with a high velocity gun capable of pentrating the thickest armor of a Tiger II tank at 1000m!  Some were shipped to ETO during the closing days of the war, but saw no action.
