| Cho was born in Korea and immigrated to Australia with his family in 1976 and settled in Perth, Western Australia. Cho entered medical studies in 1989 at the University of W. Australia but quit at the end of 1992 to pursue a career in motor racing. After beginning in go-karts in 1993, Cho moved to Sydney in 1994 to begin racing Formula Fords. After 2 successful years in Formula Fords where, with little sponsorship, Cho regularly beat much better funded drivers, Cho was given an opportunity to drive in Korea in 1997. Since then, Cho has established himself as one of the top racing drivers in Korea and has a very high profile, appearing on television on many occasions as well as newspapers and motoring and sports magazines. Cho is considered by most as the best racing driver in Korea, especially after his fine 11th place on his debut in Formula 3 at the 1999 F3 Korean Grand Prix where he raced against 29 of the best Formula 3 drivers in the world. With more experience and practice, Cho has shown that he has the potential to be a race winner in Formula 3 and several of the drivers from the Korean F3 GP have already graduated to Formula One. The Holden Australian Driver��s Championship is without doubt the cheapest alternative to racing in Europe, Japan or the U.S. where a full season in Formula 3 costs 750,000, in Formula 3000 or Indy Lights about $1,250,000.
